Only ridden in a velodrome once at Calshot in the UK. A wooden track, crazy steep banking. It scared me so much I never tried it again. Chapeau to all who race track.
What exactly about it do you think was more exciting? I've just come to track in the last 2 years, and do hear people say a similar thing so I'm always curious to know why..
Do you have any more of this? My home town hosted both the Track and Road worlds. Was a good time to be a kid into cycling. Crazy how most of the city had no idea this was happening.
Raced with Dazzan and Masumitso Takezawa in Zurich in 1983! 😊😊😊

They're not all steep, they vary a lot
Track racing was so much more exciting back then.
Yeah not sure if we will ever see track in the same light again Shaun

Yeah I think I've got some of the road race which I'll share.
Fred Cappy's 7-11 Velodrome sure looked good during the worlds.

You didn't see the East German women. Wow. That was a great summer of Cycling in Colorado Springs.

So 80s, disco dub over. Short sharp commentary with little knowledge.
