The 2002 3.7 gas motor get 14/21 mpg. At 155,000 miles I can say dump trucks get better mileage. It also burns a quart of oil every 4 weeks.

Yeah heard their gasoline engine is trash. Always go diesel can't beat it

@@MJT-DA I'm now at 195,000 and it's still running fine. Learned that most vehicles consume a quart every 1000 miles. I got a set of hotter ignition coils from D.U.I, and with NGK Iridiums it sounds and accelerates great. I've found that A K&N panel filter and a 37" glasspack really wake it up for less than $100. I even went so far as massaging the throttle body inlet to have a more radiused opening.

@@MJT-DA I would actually stay away from the CRD diesel. I've heard it's a real money pit and maintenance queen. There's also very few mechanics that are familiar with that engine.

@@xc8487 I heard if you delete the EGR and get the 2006 model and up with the upgraded torque converter it should last as long as you do regular maintenance. Get it garage on TH-cam owns one and it seems like it's doing pretty well. The weak points is the EGR valve and the timing belt.

@@MJT-DA Yes, a torque converter and trans tune will greatly improve the transmissions life expectancy. Deleting the egr is a federal offense and also makes the vehicle unsellable in any county with inspections.

Locks won't lock when car is running/key in on position - so you don't lock yourself out FYI

My 06 CDR is the BIGGEST POS. It’s cost me a TON to fix the last two years and is incredibly underpowered.
