Sorry but I don't. It was my biggest disappointment of a fragrance ever. I bought it for X-mas for under the tree (I always give myself an expensive fragrance for X-mas) but once I opened it, I didn't let the rest of the family smell it, unlike in other years. I didn't want to spoil their Christmas Eve. It smelled to me like when someone dies and is laid out in a Church.
The Incense-Spicy- Amber combo is done so much better in Annick Goutal Ambre Fetiche, which has quite a lot of similarities to Andy Tauer No.2 L'Air du Desert Marocain.

Ambre Russe is STUNNING. Love it. Will look into that HdP, sounds like a winner. Have you tried their Ambre 114? Another superb blend, keep meaning to grab a bottle. 👍🏻

If you love Andy Tauer No. 2, than you should try Annick Goutal Ambre Fetiche. Much more sophisticated than Tauer's church incensy based fragrance, which is pretty old school to my nose. And it performs better too. Another great Amber is Elie Saab essence no.3 Ambre. Today I will buy Histoires des Parfums 114 Ambre.

Have you smelled Ambra Aurea and Ambre Precieux? Was surprised to not see those in the list, unless I missed it as I skipped a few seconds ahead.

Nice video man. Ambrarem is very good and animalic. It's the only fragrance where i can pickup a real pipe tobacco when the pipe tobacco is not even listed in the notes. I don't see any review on TH-cam about this bad boy. I would include amouage opus VI in this list as honourable mention.

I want a top 10 of AMBER fragrances not fake ass ambergris. The less synthetics the better imho

I have a bottle of this and it is a beast fragrance in a bottle. It's a beauty in a bottle.
Amber and ambergris - two different things, amber fragrances are made from ambergris (flammable substance of a dull grey or blackish colour produced in the digestive system of sperm whales). amber is a totally different thing - Amber is fossilized tree resin, which has been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since Neolithic times.
Finally an educated person. I love Amber, not so much ambergris. Both hard to find and when u do it’s very expensive. So most use ambroxan which I hate so much
@@ChildofGodforevr sorry but this is incorrect. Amber (fossilised tree resin) has no fragrance. The amber note used in fragrance is a fantasy note created by mixing labdanum & benzoin.
Grans Soir is so, so good. I have a decant coming of AT LDDM and I can't wait to wear it. Would like to get your take on Ormonde Jayne Ambre Royal and Histoires Ambre 114 and how they compare with other ambers on your list. Overall, another great one, thank you my friend!

Where did you get your info? Amber has a very distinct and powerful scent. You can smell by polishing Amber or grinding it up....

Very good list! Nevertheless I would like to see some designers in it, or another list for designers. Fragrances like Halston Amber, Dupont Royal Amber or Estée Lauder Amber Mystique - among others - do deserve to be highlited!

Vintage Amber Absolute 2007 from Tom Ford. There is NOTHING finer, sir, despite I have 8 of those you have mentioned.
Such a marvelous list for amber aficionados. I have 1888 and I would not ever consider it as amber. I get cherry from it and it reminds my Hos #1. Sure do love my Grand Soir. Nothing beats my vintage bottles of Amber Absolute by Tom Ford, however. Also, did you ever smell Ambre 114 by HdP? Another great amber is Ambre Narguile. And, yes, Tauer's amber offering is a perfect one in a top ten, but doesn't beat Amber Absolute, to my mind. Great list.. Am looking still for Amber Russe.
I still don't consider L'air du Desert de Maroccain an Amber fragrance, since there is only koriander backed up by rose and smoke.

Actually I just now realized I said 350, when in fact it's 320 million years. It's all thanks to amber inclusions, that scientists now know in that remote era, when drops of resin captured sluggish weevils and other living creatures, coniferous forests grew everywhere. The oldest amber recovered, dates to the Upper Carboniferous period (320 million years ago). Its chemical composition makes it difficult to match the amber to its producers - it is most similar to the resins produced by flowering plants, which did not evolve until the Jurassic, around 180 million years ago.

In terms of projection Ambre Loup wins all day, but it's also more daring/less appealing than Grand Soir 😉

Where is Ambre Nuit?
Ambre Nuit is an ambergris fragrance actually, not amber :)

So according to both Dior's website and Fragrantica, Ambre Nuit which literally translates into Amber Night, has amber and not ambergris. Unless you are François Demachy, then id say youre wrong.
@@sorooshusa So, Fragrantica is always right about the notes they display? I don't need to be François Demachy to know that the old Dior website was showing the full note breakdown (which can still be found if you search a little on Google) and it was the following:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Grapefruit
Heart Notes: Turkish Rose
, Pink pepper
Base Notes: Ambergris, Gaiac wood, Patchouli, Cedar
So no, it is not an amber based fragrance.
maybe because ambre nuit was reformulated, watered down, and it's nothing like it used to be? and compared to the ones in this list, doesn't hold a candle to even the honorable mention
@@STORMIE. Do you realize that name LITERALLY is AMBER night. The current listing on the website OFFICIALLY says amber, not ambergris. I trust the contemporary listing. who knows maybe they were wrong about the note breakdown and they had to take it down and fix it. just like how wrong you are now.
You literally have copied and stolen J Copeland’s style. Not cool at all and definitely not original.
