Thx you for enjoying yourselves in our Incredible Belgium...that s true ! an incredible country ... So cool seeing a video with such nice couple and positive people
Architecture, culture, food...you two are becoming way, way too sophisticated!! Beautiful Air BnB...Ashley your never ending enthusiasm just HAS to be contagious! Thank you again!!
Belgium is a small country but you always get the feeling of missing out something. If I choose to go to Brugge, I may miss out Dinant. If I go to Eupen, I may not see Antwerpen and so on. It's all worth a visit and the landscape as well as the towns.
Just wanna drop a quick comment before I even watch the video! You and your channel are amazing! Been here since you were in Finland (thanks youtube for recommending you) and being in love ever since! The best moment of the day is to see that you uploaded a new video! Keep it up, thanks for sharing your journey and your's awesome personalities! Love.
Beautiful video. I mean locations, presentation, music, picturisation, airbnb and then food. I really liked the video and it has really encouraged me to go out and see the beautiful world outside of my room.
Hey Josh and Ashley! Great video! Quick suggestion if you can get there...if Ashley likes adorable little towns, Durbuy (not far from you in Liége) is certainly worth a visit. My father is from Belgium (Charleroi area, very industrial), but we now live in Wisconsin. We were just in Belgium last year and visited Durbuy for the first time-amazing tiny town! The topiary parc is not to be missed! Down in the Ardennes area (near Bastogne where the Battle of the Bulge was fought in WWII so full of history, both old and recent). Incredible natural scenery and more great food (les saucisses,le jambon d'ardennes, wild boar, les croquettes, etc, etc, etc) as well-couldn't more highly recommend if you have the time for a day trip. Love your channel along with the Endless Adventure! Passez une bonne journée aujourd'hui en belgique (for you to figure out :)! Oh man, almost forgot...you unquestionably have to have a gaufre liégeoise while in Liége! Much more like a cookie or sweet bread than a Belgian waffle typically served here in the U.S (bruxelles-style). Best with no toppings-very chewy and sweet just as it is! Just my two cents (or Euros, I guess ;)! Enjoy!
Great video. You guys will probably already have moved on to your next place, but a few miles south of Liege is a town called Durbuy - that is very picturesque with a river running through the town. Look forward to your continuing adventure. Stuart
Dinant: - citadel used in both world wars but without real function. - Belvedere where 2 Nobel price winners studied (incl Francois Englert) - just out of town, one of the craziest airplane stunts has been performed (blow between the huge rocks you see when entering the city) - has a great history in wine but is nowadays known for Leffe beer, brewed in the Abby - historic had this town a few clashes with adjecent towns - birthplace of adolphe sax - people go there mainly to hike or bike in the surroundings - the parking of the match supermarket downtown is free
I really doubt fries were invented in Belgium. Potatoes first arrived in Spain from the new world, where they used to cut their vegetables julienne and cook them in oil. (Sounds familiar?) The Belgian story is that one winter the lakes were frozen, so they cut their potatoes in fish shapes and cooked those in oil. (Please.) That is what they told us in the Friet Museum in Brugge. I don't know who invented fries, but I doubt it is us. (Am from Belgium.)
Actually Frites exist before the born of belgium. We found (in namur) some etching and painting from the 16 th century showing how to do frites and belgium has been created in 1830 so..
You guys just passed by it and didn't even try it! Dinant is famous for its Dinant cookies!! Edit: Noooooooooo Do NEVER say French fries in Belgium, fries are Belgian, not French. Glad you corrected yourself later in the video, also the pronunciation of Liege you corrected later on :)
Plz don't compare us as much with the french It's euh, well, let's not insult the french too much :D Ps: french fries ---> frenched fries (from the verb: to french...). They actually originate from the region round the river Meuse where you were at. The locals used to fry small fish and started cutting those out of potatoes one time the river froze shut.... the rest u know :)
Around 08:20: 1) Wine production has been skyrocketing in Belgium in the past few years and, yes, there's an estate just outside Dinant: it's called "Château Bon Baron". Just Google it. 2) The cookies that you've spotted in that shop window are called "couques de Dinant": they're a popular speciality, about which the locals are very proud. In my opinion, though, they're beautiful but so hard that you might break a tooth or two on them (no kidding), unless you dip them into coffee/or whatever before.
Ho my.god.. you miss the amazing view from the top of dinant !! And step until the top is just cool... and there is someone ( in the top: citadel) who is just great to explain all thing about city. And then leffe museum as well .. so many thing to do. Also In liege .. so pity that i cannot be with.you to make you a private visit lol
am so happy they use the phrase BELGIAN FRIES and not the phrase french fries that irritate's me and hundred of thousends of other belgian people a huge mistake made by the gi's in the second world war please continue to educate other people in using the correct phrase BELGIAN FRIES thank you so much
WoW what an amazing place to stay...! Liège Meatballs (boulet à la liégeoise) uses Sirop de Liège / Luikse stroop (made of local apples, pears and dates) as part of the sauce.
I would recommend visiting Gent. It's really a beautiful smaller city with medieval castle and lots of young people due to couple of universities. A must try products/food: pommes frites (my Belgian friend always corrects me it is not French fries), waffles, chocolate, BEER and jenever (a type of gin produced in many flavors). If you will come by Gent you can try home made jenevers in various flavors at 't Dreupelkot.
You don't have to speak French you can live in a place where they speak Dutch and it's almost the same grammar like English and much words are the same
How fun!! First I'm definitely with Ashley, I would be visiting a town because it looks cute.😊 Second, I love your Air BnB!!!!!! Have fun, can't wait to see more of you there in Belgian.
3:24 They do speak Dutch, French and German in Belgium but not every language is used everywhere. It's even a faux-pas to avoid to use the wrong language in the wrong place.
I went there March this year and had a nice hotel, Dinant is a very cozy little city with awesome people ! Myself i'm a Belgian from the coast, the city of Ostend, vive la Belgique, leve België, Leben Belgien !!1 At Dinant they have one of the most beautiful caves of Europe, wanted to visit but it was not open on a Monday :(
wow! one of the nicest air bnb's ive seen you guys in! I really love how you show us the different style of air bnb's it allows us to see the different choices people have :)
When you need to read foreign language museum plaques, menus, etc. download Google Translate and it will translate text in real time!! Sooo handy for when they don't have info in English
So you're telling us Josh can speak French and Pinterest has tips on amazing towns like this? We're in Belgium soon. This place looks so nice! - Trevor
French fries are anywhere but not in Belgium, we have Belgian fries (THE Belgian fries). You went in Wallonië, the lower part of Belgium. Flanders is also worth a visit 👍
Some tips and tricks first Dinant and Liège are ik wallonia the South of Belgium there are more nature of you go to the north you got Flandre there are more beautiful city's like Bruges Ghent Antwerp and Brussels I am from Ghent and i wanna be a guide in this city
So weird to recognize each place you were...Philippe is not the best place to eat meatballs and fries. What a pity, I could have given you lots of advice!
I think you had a 'Luikse gehaktbal', which is basically a meatball in a sauce prepared with 'Luikse siroop', a sirop made of pears, apples and apricots (www.sirop-de-liege.com/EN/).
Oh shit, Chez Phillippe the friterie is actually in my street, rue mont saint martin. They make great fries that's for sure. I'm glad you enjoyed Liège, cheers!
Little knowledge about the belgium flag. According to the constitution the flag is red yellow and black. Flags are read from the post outwards. Everyone including the king puts it backwards
I'm so proud to be a Belgian.
You should be!!:) Its such a cool country. -Ash
Me too bud. But there is a con... SOME THINGS ARE SO EXPENSIVEEEE AAA

Thx you for enjoying yourselves in our Incredible Belgium...that s true ! an incredible country ... So cool seeing a video with such nice couple and positive people
Thanks for visiting our country! Always welcome...
So happy to see foreigners visit other parts in Belgium than Bruges, Brussels or Ghent!

I was just in Dinant this past summer. Very beautiful little town!
Gondola is not 8.50. The entrance to the Citadel (Museum) is 8.50 and it includes the gondola.
Great video. You guys will probably already have moved on to your next place, but a few miles south of Liege is a town called Durbuy - that is very picturesque with a river running through the town. Look forward to your continuing adventure. Stuart

Great to share a bit of Belgium. You made a stunning couple.
It's cool and funny to see people enjoying visiting Belgium !
By the way, it is Liège not Liége haha but you pronounce very good French !
No word about the fries? You know that the belgians invented "french fries", in the city of "Gent". You already knew that, right? ;)
+Achim Schreiner ah, I didn't know about it being from Gent though, that's cool.
I know ( cause I'm from belgium ) sometime it's irritating when people say French fries are from french some pll from Belgium know the struggle

You may have missed a tiny bit of info there ... You walked past the Saxophone statue. Adolphe Sax who invented the Sax was from Dinant :-)

You pronounced Liège walloon style «Lich» ahah my city
I would recommend visiting Gent. It's really a beautiful smaller city with medieval castle and lots of young people due to couple of universities. the sweetness of the meatball sauce is not because of sugar. it's the brown beer the sauce is made with that adds that flavor
How fun!! First I'm definitely with Ashley, I would be visiting a town because it looks cute.😊 Second, I love your Air BnB!!!!!! Have fun, can't wait to see more of you there in Belgian.
