So Disney managed to turn Asylum's terrible knock offs into a plot point completely lapped Space Jam 2 in meta comedy, and make a competent successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit without butchering it's beloved title characters ......Wow did the stars align on this one.
@kyestar88 I honestly thought it was pretty cool
@kyestar88You opinion, nothing more. Does not make you right.
I’m starting to think How to Ratatwang Your Panda was made with an abducted Po and Remy.
I actually like both Space Jam 2 and Chip n Dale, but I'll be lying if I didn't say I like Chip n Dale more.
Hardly a successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Was still an entertaining film. 🎞
'Til this day, I'm still baffled over how damn well-written that Rescue Rangers theme song was - both melodically & lyrically. If the writer didn't win some kind of award for it, then that's an injustice that needs to be corrected.
Lol let's get that man a Grammy
2 years late, but the 80's had the _best_ cartoon theme songs. Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc. I would argue that Ducktales is the best theme song of all time and nobody knows who they are!
Chip N Dale, Gargoyles, Sailor Moon, Scooby Doo, and etc. Always sat down for those on Saturday mornings. I had a Chip N Dale VHS that I think is still at my parents house. Oh the nostalgia.
Bonkers, gummy bears, darkwing duck, goof troop,
@@CarryTheThree I had to look Bonkers up. I forgot about that one.
Should I dare mention Cowboys of Moo Mesa or Pizza Cats?
I studied animation in college and gained so much knowledge over time, I totally respect the animation stuff they added in this movie.
I’ll always think of Chip and Dale, first and foremost, as the mechanics for my gummi ship in Kingdom Hearts. 🤣
Yess!!
10:43-10:47 Proof that childhood wonder can never die.
It’s genuinely insane how Disney let the lonely island go nuts with this film, I love it .
Hey, Disney actually likes to poke fun at itself. They do it surprisingly often.
"go nuts"
good one.
They got me. There was a part near the end of the movie that I almost got a little misty eyed. Nostalgia is a hell of a thing.
The Chip and Dale theme song still gets me smiling an singing.
I’m here for this review. This was my cartoon when I came home from school as well. I can’t stop singing the theme song in my head and out loud.
Preach!!💯💯✌🏿
This, Tales Spin, Tamone and Pumba, DuckTales, Dark Wing Duck, Walter Melon, so on......
@@axx012 OMG Dark Wing Duck “let’s get dangerous” oh the memories. Thanks for that gem
@#Thor4 🤣🤣🤣
In between DuckTales and Tailspin, Darkwing Duck. Prime tv viewing.
I'm surprised that this turned out well, I thought that this was going to be a train wreck, but this is one time that I'm genuinely happy to be wrong. I'll have to check it out at some point.
It’s definitely a pretty Wild experience from start to end
I had Fun with his movie.
@@Clipzilla42 Not every joke. And I think it was done well.
@kyestar88 better than the shitty show
It's odd that Korey's son never knew about the Disney afternoon. For me after school in the 90's, I was in elementary school, I would rush to get home. Missing one day, was pure grief(like the end of the world). Whenever I was sick, holiday, or a half day of school that was pure heaven, a vacation from home; because I could see it from beginning to end. The Disney Afternoon was every 90's kid gift before the weekend.
I love how they were dressed up as Indiana Jones and Magnum P.I.!
I loved this movie! I loved pointing out all the different references I saw in the background and the whole thing just felt like a love letter to old and new cartoons alike! It was funny and all around charming
I was born in ‘99. I watched the old Toon Disney channel religiously where it had all the ‘90s shows we’re playing on repeat. This, DuckTales, Goof Troop, Hercules, and Darkwing Duck were my favorites. This brought back so many memories of watching those shows.
In the movie, there was a scene when they were arguing that they sped up John Mulaney's and Andy Samberg's voices that sounded like the OG Chip N Dale from the 50's. 😂
I love that show when I was little, and I kept crying everytime an episode ended. 🤣
I see why they thanked the legal team. They must have worked overtime every day
It was nice seeing Tigra in this. Kind of funny and a bit sad when realize that she’s the only one of the Avengers that didn’t move pass the United They Stand series. Also, it just dawned on me that R34 in this world would be the equivalent of having an Onlyfans
Thank you for this. My mom and I thought it was Thindercats, and were very confused. XD
A little sadder that Tigras original voice actress who was also the voice of 90s rogue passed away of cancer a few years ago
@@PHOENIXGUNDAM Lenore Zann is still alive. Are you thinking of cyclops or magnetos voice actors? I know they passed a few years ago
Got to tell you, those Disney Afternoon cartoons had the most catchiest tunes.
Facts!! 💯💯
Lmao them old school cartoons had some soul in their theme songs. Chip n dale, duck tales, goof troop. Those are my oldies but goodies. 😆
Damn sure did 💯💯💯
They really did. U could feel the passion in the singing
I find the double irony of this movie hilarious as it recognizes and poke fun of Robert Zemeckis' directorial works particularly Roger Rabbit and the uncanny valley mo-cap films (Polar Express, Beowulf, Christmas Carol).
I’m 32 and loved this show. I remember going to Blockbuster and renting the video game because I loved the show so much. That part in the theme song you mentioned was like the Kenny Loggins of animation. The Danger Zone/Top Gun of cartoons. 😂
I’m 40 and never get too old in cartoons to rewatch. And it’s Way better than Space Jam 2. A whole lot better.
Ducktales was up there with Darkwing Duck too... these were beyond jams. I'm turning 31 in a few weeks lol
Good to hear y'all liked it.
The trailer did worry me a bit because how weirdly animated Chip & the Rangers are animated, but glad to hear this is probably the better Who Framed Roger Rabbit successor film.
The key to making a worthy successor is to actually put some thought and originality and a bit of cleverness to it instead of a pointless cash grab for money’s sake. Granted “Who Framed” wasn’t completely original, but it took a genre like film noire and turned it on its head by adding classic animation and it worked! Along with genuine dramatic performances from the late great Bob Hoskins and the gifted Christopher Lloyd is what made Who Framed Roger Rabbit the adored classic film it is today.
This is totally the Roger Rabbit successor. It's even another mystery.
20:12 We literally have a massive Kingdom Hearts reference in the center of a shot of refrences!
Kind of wish this went to the theatre. It looks way too good for straight to streaming.
Me too. There’s something about watching in a movie theater that turns off distractions and the world!
@@markjlabella8869 look at those biceps my god 👀
I was literally saving an a list ticket for this thinking I'd be able to lmao in IMAX... it's not gonna be the same on an iPad
Probably too risky financially.
My daughter told me she wanted to see it and I was AMC wondering why it wasn’t showing lol 😂 we have Disney+ but I’m with you. We were excited to go to the theater.
Rescue rangers was something I used to watch on satellite TV before I even turned 5. Was NOT ready for that memory to be unlocked the moment you played that theme song
I LOVED Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers when I was a kid. It was this show that introduced me to Disney Afternoon and other series during that line-up. I can't wait to watch this movie and I'm glad everything I'm hearing about this film is very positive. Just hearing the original theme song takes me back to my 5 year-old self again lol. "Sometime, Some crime, goes slipping through the cracks..."
If this successful we going get a sequel because I can see it happening
YES! Along with Duck Tales lol
@@annabanana2623 I think writers want to do a sequel
This was great , the gags had me cracking and they and I'm shocked how much they allowed
Low Full Price
we need a darkwing duck movie kinda like this
We may have been teased.
I LOVE the original Chip n' Dale shorts. The one with the tree sap? Classic. I like Rescue Rangers a lot too. Both fun.
16:58 this is literally just Marc and Steven arguing at this point 🤣🤣🤣
Ugly Sonic was the highlight of the movie!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
30:34 Stuck a feather in his cap and called it Rice-A-Roni.
25:28 Aw come now Alvin and the Chipmunks aren’t that bad
I looooove Chip and Dale!! I hope they do Talespin soon!!
I don’t want celebrity voices for Tailspin, Darkwing, or the rest. They will ruin the characters.
I just finished watching this and I was pleasantly surprised!!This could be considered a worthy successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit..And remember, re-elect Senator Butthead!!!
This is Roger Rabbit 2. Totally. It may have had only one cameo from him, but this feels like the natural progression. And it's another mystery movie.
Yeah I was getting major WFRR vibes all without the dip
Edit: apparently dip is mentioned and I totally missed it
@It aint no thing oh my goodness did they?!?! How did I miss it....I just commented how that's what was missing smh lol
@@Perfection_NV it was in a tube in the drawer Sweet Pete was searching through 🤣
Damn I never thought about that. Indiana jones and magnum PI. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Surprised Korey didn't mention Cool World which came out 3 years after Who Framed Roger Rabbit and tried to be a PG13 and rated R version of it.
Understandable. Cool World was so
terrible and bombed so hard that it’s easy to forget about. Admit it, the only thing from that movie you remember is the sexy “Hollie” girl
It’s a shame because Cool World had an interesting concept but it was meddled behind the scenes by the movie studio so the director wasn’t able to bring his true vision for the film
@@galacticcactus5530 As someone who saw the movie and doesn’t remember anything about it but Holli Would. I can confirm this is true.
A 24 year old was born in 1998, 8 years after Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers ended. 5 years after Disney Afternoon stopped showing reruns of the show. 1 year after Disney Afternoon ended.
I'm 26 and I was aware of Chip and Dale as a kid. I think they used to run reruns of this show on Disney channel.
I’m 24 and I grew up on Rescue Rangers
Why was this movie soooooooo good???? I was not expecting this at all! AND!!! Can we talk about Ugly Sonic’s whole arc since the day he was cancelled? Holy crap this was a great surprise for 2022.
Ugly Sonic is now his own thing. And as someone who absolutely HATED that design, I liked that. However, I still cringed whenever his teeth were on screen. XD
@@pundertalefan4391 lmao when dale was bugging cuz of his teeth 😂
@@AbiyahBanYasharahla I felt the same way. XD I always hates the teeth. Heck, I always hate human teeth where they shouldn't be. Like, Annoying Orange, for example. That show freaks me out.

Captain Putty's dialogue while fighting (BOINGG!) had me rolling on the floor!
Nah Kory, 24 years old isn't old enough to know about Rescue Rangers. That show made it's debut in 1989. I grew up on it and I'm about to be 40. I have "little cousins" that are older than 24 that don't know shit about that shows existence lol
Right, 24 is too young to have grown up on this
I'm 26 and saw reruns on toon disney
@@Zhade11Yea that doesn't count lol jk
I didn't go in with high expectations at all but it really blew me away. Im 32 and this movie hit all the nostalgia spots for me. Plus the movie just made me laugh. This was good stuff man.
Korey mentioned the Wuzzles & the Gummie Bears they need to do a review on those shows & how about a cartoon show from the 90s called Gravedale High starring Rick Moranis.
This movie was amazing. According to this canon, chip and dale haven’t worked together since rescue rangers. But in reality, they’ve continued to appear as their classic selves since then in Mickey Mouse clubhouse
I actually liked this movie. It wasn’t perfect but I was entertained.
Baloo running drugs for a cartel wouldn't even be surprising as an episode premise. Tale Spin was wacky.
I always assumed they were brothers! 🤷🏽♀️
Same
I liked this movie a lot. Basically I would call this movie, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2: Spot The Cameos" and this movie has a lot of cameos.
It gave me Looney Tunes: Back in Action vibes too.
Gadget clearly wears the pants on the team...no seriously she's the only one not Donald Duckin it.
Can’t risk seeing Gadget’s P-P-Puh-Puh-P-P-Puh-Parmesean Cheese!
@@AttemptedVoices that's true, can't be showing her mousetrap in a family friendly show lol
XD "Donald Duckin it".
I LOVE POLAR EXPRESS LOL
Yes! I'm in my 30s and watch it. "When Christmas Comes to Town" is my song!
Tailspin theme song was FIRE.
All them late 80s 90s Disney cartoons had bad ass theme songs 💯
Haha I love how feel Korey goes with animation
I never thought in a million years I would see butthead in a Disney movie
I thought they was brothers or cousins 🫠💀 I was astounded when they said they weren't 😂😂😂
Drinking Game! Take a shot every time Korey brings up those Chipmunks.
Disney XD is showing a marathon of Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers
Thanks for the info 👍
@@nebraskawaters8791 no problem
Think Disney is adding other things from other entertainment franchises because they are planning on making crossover movies cinematic or animated. Like with Batman being in the movie is Disney foreshadowing they are trying to make a crossover film with DC Comics and Marvel comics characters. James Gunn did admit he would love to make a marvel film with a DC Comic character showing up in it therefore Disney could be possibly foreshadowing Disney will make a DC and Marvel comics crossover.
Y’all forgot to mention the Ugly Sonic
That was something I was NEVER expecting. XD
I thought Peter Pan looked "bad" on purpose... I assumed they just copied the animation style from his old movie. Anyway, it didn't bother me at all. Great movie!
I was thinking that to. It would make sense that their animation style would still be the same and since animation has gotten better over time, stuff like that would obviously look bad compared to stuff today
Nah, anything other than straight CG looked kinda bad. The 2D animation especially suffered, stuff looked superimposed and was sliding when melded with real world stuff. Dale as cel shaded 3D fared the best, but even he was stiffly animated in parts.
Chip and Dale are bothers... and they were both in love with Clarice in the 50s short " Two Chips and a Miss"
As a kid I assumed they were brothers. Glad that ended up true.
The old Chip and Dale cartoons, where they often antagonized Donald Duck, were the ones I grew up on, though they are in repeats when I saw them, and then was happy to see them in the Rescue Rangers...so in he movie when Dale asked, what do I think of, I think of them, cause I didnt know about Chippendales till way later on after the show.
8:27 The only reason I know they're older than Rescue Rangers is how I saw them in kingdom hearts
Who remembers the NES game? It was great.
Straight 🔥
Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers was MY CHILDHOOD in the 80's but all the bullshit stuff in this generation
been established. After graduation, my lifestyle wasn't that good because of my childhood just disappearing.
So now, I can rewatch many great cartoons or anime from my timeline. This flick reminds me of Who Framed Roger Rabbit
in a creative way to bring back my favorite characters coming back to this generation in fixing the way it should be: NOSTALGIA.
Unlike Space Jam 2: it was a commercial for HBOMax Subscribers with awful screenplay, worst actor (LeBron James), director,
bad soundtrack even cancelling Pepe, Penelope even Lola's hot bod. WB, you made the worst movie last year.
Disney for that made the best hybrid even remotely entertaining film of the summer. I wanna watch it tomorrow with my family.
And it's gonna be a great time for watching my 80's back. GREAT REVIEW, KOREY!
They also have a new reboot that’s closer to the original shorts. It’s called Chip’n’Dale Park tales.
The original Space Jam with Air Jordan was a classic too lol
Gummi Bears has got to be done 🤩👍
In fairness to my boy he's only 24 the show came out in 1989 there's no possible way he could ever even have possibly even watch the show not even on reruns.
Some other commenter around 24 years old said Toon Disney channel showed old cartoons, so they knew. And the way I still have stuff I recorded on VHS, a younger person could've watched. Just saying, it's possible.
For me Chip N' Dale rescue rangers was how I was introduced to them. When I saw the classics I thought what Korey thought, but opposite. For me it was, "What the hell is this!? Where's the gang? And the cool adventures?! This is not my Chip N' Dale." I prefer rescue rangers over the classics, since that is how I was introduced to the them.
If Space Jam is a dumpster fire, and Space Jam 2 is a dumpster, then Rescue Rangers is a slightly clean bedroom. Just need to make up your bed and check for any trash under the bed.
I always loved chip and dale rescue rangers and most definitely dark wing duck so much
Why are all cartoons with long theme tunes always soo good 🤔
The Rescue Rangers NES video game was 🔥🔥🔥.
Rescue Rangers theme song was way too good for what they were singing about
I thought chip and Dale were brothers
My favorite Disney cartoon characters of all time is Chip & Dale from the 1940s-1950s. (I could care less about Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and the rest of them.) The Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers cartoon was alright. But anyway, I'm not excited about this new movie at all.
We do need Dark Wing Duck to come back...
Dark*wing* **DUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!**
The great DuckTales 2017 reboot had a few storylines with him. It's going to be spun off into a new Darkwing series produced by Seth Rogen.
I Guess You Could Say That I Ain’t Got No “Bootlegs” To Stand On! 😁😆❤️🎼🎵🎶
I'm the same way as corey, grew up watching these animated shorts on the Disney Channel in the 80s when I was a kid.
Loved the Chip and Dale song.
To my absolute surprise I really liked chip and Dale's rescue rangers movie. It was very very much emulating Who framed Roger rabbit. And it actually got it so close that I wish they would have officially counted it as a spin-off sequel, instead of just putting a cameo with Roger rabbit in there I wish the movie would have been called something like, "who bootlegged monterey jack?" And it would have been part of the franchise since there's never been a Roger rabbit sequel. Anyway, If You know Who framed Roger rabbit, you know what to expect. It's funny throughout, tons of awesome cameos from cartoon characters, etc etc. 84 out of 100.
I guess the villans work for Asylum
Chip n Dale was always my childhood and this movie is Great
dang I really wanted to hear them laughing at Ugly Sonic that was so funny..
Not Pinky and the Brain, think more Abbott and Costello
This is the film that will get Disney plus more subscribers
I'm so happy I skipped the trailers for this. After watching it blind, THEN going back to the trailers, HOLY SHIT did they spoil the best bits of the movie.
I went to art school so I definitely popped for the Mr. Natural cameo
Korey sharing a body with Marc Spector!
This movie had no business being this good. It's one of my favorite movie that came out this year
Lol@ 34:24, Korey doing his typical "complimenting the ugly girl* routine aka being as nice, safe, and inoffensive as possible by saying she was a good actress only for Martin to come in and go "NAHHH, not really".
I think what bothered me was how her acting felt more kid friendly like something from Disney Junior, but it didn't fit with a movie about solving a cartoon trafficking ring. Roger Rabbit was funny partially because of the difference between Eddie and Roger in personalities. Eddie was a serious noir character in a light-hearted comedy. Brendan Fraiser was a action comedy character dealing with wacky Looney Toons. I think her character would have been funnier if they played it more straight.
Red pill overdose
Yeah this film definitely felt more like what I wanted Space Jam a new legacy to be, and I say that as someone who really liked the film .
20:49 Even in the old 50s shorts, I'd say Dale was the dumb one... or maybe the 'drunk' one, with his red nose!? Chip would be serious about breaking into somewhere searching for nuts, Dale would mess around and do something stupid that almost wakes up Pluto, then Chip would slap him around to get him to stop acting a fool. Then I guess Rescue Rangers kind of ran with that in more of a sitcom way.
That's back when cartoons were cartoons baby.
The problem w/the cel-shaded 3D models & why they so often look terrible is b/c they often don't squash & stretch. They don't move like 2D characters move & perform in front of a 2D camera. They move like they're inside a 3D environment, so it always looks off.
The way to fix this is to animate 3D models & recreate 2D animation movement - not just the look - w/stuff like squash & stretch & over-lapping.
Also, Sweet Pete's animation could've looked & moved better if you had gotten him to fly, or at least float. But I guess Tinkerbell no longer wanted anything to do with Peter by that point - & had run out of pixie dust.
Haven't seen the film but the story premise would've fit Oswald the Lucky Rabbit better over the Rescue Rangers ip. When I think of the Rescue Rangers I don't want them to be washed up actors in a realistic setting, they fit better in their cartoon world going on adventures. That's just my take.
But isn't Oswald in the other dimension?
Oswald is a SAINT! You monster!
14:45 Has everyone forgotten that Looney Tunes: Back in Action exists?
The bootleg plot device is the best thing ever, considering, those bootlegs appeared in some bad movie reviews namely the Titanic movies
