Great video... RV builder (RV-4 and RV-7) but no "A" model's. I became interested in the rash of Trike RV's flipping over as an engineer. Many of the incidents were on soft fields. I would NOT fly the trikes off soft fields, unless you know it well, it's flat, hard with no mole of gopher holes or mounds. With that said on my RV-4 my main gears could oscillate... I used hard wood stiffeners shaped to fit under fairing and "glassed" them on with carbon fiber. Made a world of difference.
Found the problem. These morons toe the mains in 1/4”. This causes the tire to try and crab walk into each other. Forcing tire to load up then unload. So the tires are constantly wheel loading excessively till the tire shears the ground releasing the energy only to try and load up again. Then these morons have no positive caster in the front end. This causes the front end to shake rattle and roll causing you to crash when it folds. I just bought a 6A and am pissed these idiots can’t build a plane. If they need someone who can engineer it not to fail a few million will get you that. This is amateur on every level. If someone you know wrecked at all on the ground with a gear failure or cracking occurred you get in touch with me and my legal team will handle this utter bs.
Excellent video. I agree with all your observations at the end (RV-7A matco axle, 550 hrs. I see much the same.)
Great details. I am a Kitfox owner buying an RV7A next week. This will be really helpful and nice quality video!
Very helpful video, thank you. Getting ready to start phase 1 testing of my RV9A.
Enjoy, and fly with confidence……it’s an amazing plane - You will love it😊
Pretty cool watching your shadow maintain excellent center line discipline after lift off! :-) Thanks for the video!
Pro tip : you can watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Caden Desmond Yup, been using flixzone for months myself :D
