Honestly If this was prerecorded I’m totally positive XG is running a world tour I prefer their voices and stamina for the live tour.
They were invited as a guest to a K-pop event where most people are gonna see K-pop groups and XG is not so is perfectly understandable if the crow is not much motivated. And as performers XG performance and attitude was impecable on stage.
So with these type of music shows like Inkigayo (amd there's several of them) it's pretty common for the groups to perform using a backing track. The crowd seems quiet because you've got some XG fans there, but also fans supporting various other groups that are performing there. XG is just showcasing this song and that's it. It's kind of like a competition show.
