This fight... this fight is something else. I was already incredibly impressed with the game overall, but after fighting this, I was amazed. Just beat ‘em. One of my favorite final bosses of all time. The “glitching” nature of the second phase was nailed so well, it was amazing. I can only imagine playing this on nightmare with 4 players.
The worst designed boss of all time. The devs did not do the work required to make a game that this boss can exist in. They make it almost completely unnecessary to dodge roll for the whole game and end it with a boss who requires a dodge roll every 2 seconds for the whole fight. The Devs are idiots and that boss is terrible.
This was my assumption as well. Not sure what else it would be. I kinda took that beginning cutscene with the hand appearing to be a nod to the Clawbone name but I may be reading into it.

Hands down one of the best end game bosses I have *ever* fought. Incredibly intuitive, graphically stunning and thoroughly enjoyable. This game was fantastic and came straight out of left field for me.
its very difficult with 2-3 people as well. the boss is much more predictable on solo because you know he is coming for you. took me and a homie about 3 hours to finally kill the mf

I just defeated this boss last night and… Wow. I did not expect such a spectacular fight and how the music in the second phase of the boss’s fight almost syncs to their attacks. It was so chaotic but so fun!!! This is the best boss and possibly best game I have played in quite some time! I was so excited for the sequel, and I am so happy to have played through it!💛 …On Nightmare too!
FINALLY BEAT IT!!! It took me almost 30 tries but I finally got my nightmare kill done. This bosses second phase is INSANE!!! It really hurt when getting the boss to like 10% left and dying to it having to restart. But FINALLY DOING IT FEELS SOOO GOOD!!!

this boss is fantastic, fight him solo and killing him with Nightfall DPS build APOCOLYPS diff was one of the very good feelings of gaming experience better that Marika/Radagon and Elden Beast in Elden Ring

@@ecstatic3811 Yeah, sounds queues are important but the main issue I had is that it was too flashy and I wanted to get an idea of what the mechanics were, in the end, it wasnt too bad, took me a few attempts, very good fight, I had my music up until I had to fight Legion on Apocalypse, that fight is horrible as is hard to discern sound cues since there is so much going on, and madness blurs everything including muzzling sounds, so since then my music is off entirely.
Just got to this mofo on veteran, can reliably get through the first stage with little to no damage taken but that second phase just destroys me. Prolly need to level up a little more as my damage is just weak af with +5 weapons lmao, awesome run.
Just beat him and I can say the second phase is definitely crazy. Got lucky and tranced out near the end but every moment you can shorten that fight helps. My weapons were about +9 and +10 I believe, so I did have a bit more DPS.

I was struggling as a Summoner/Handler with the 2nd phase...until I found Leto MKII Armor lmao. Did the final boss my first run. Anyone struggling, go grab it.
I know I know, I shouldn't have bought a series s if I wanted best performance but its all I had, this boss is damn impossible to fight with it locked at 30fps and even LOWER DURING THIS FIGHT.. amazing boss fight but I can't even fight him without it dropping to 5 frames. then his 2nd phase with the glitching is god awful with the series s. ): still amazing game though, this is the only zone I've had issues with, so it sucks it was the final zone.
combination of his hunter abilities, upgraded sniper and rings/amulets i would guess. I used basically the exact same loadout on veteran and was doing ~500-800 a shot without a proper build
All the people I see beating the 2nd phase on youtube have their game far clearing than mine even though i'm on a PS5 with performance mode. It doesn't make sense. The screen is so pixelated and blurry how can you see anything the boss is about to do
Like the first game, you can reroll one area in adventure mode. So yes you can kinda farm but not really since you have to reroll if you wanna farm for specific event/boss
So many PC players saying bosses like this are fine, they clearly don't know how choppy the game is on PS5. Some boss moves are hidden by pixelated mess because the game is so badly optimised and sometimes boss moves dip in framerate so you're essentially dodging something blind and just hoping for the best. It's awful
You can change the performance mode if you're experiencing that. I'm on PS5 this whole game was smooth, didn't spot a single frame dip outside of co-op.
The boss fight is so annoying with randoms. Solo play is the way or with friends that know what they are doing. Did over 30 attempt with randoms and couldn't beat it but soloed it pretty easily.

Are you aware of how forgiving the I-frames in this game are for good players? Sure he would got some dmg if this was a fromsoftware game, but this isn't one.
I will have to disagree there. The mechanics are clever and all, but it's too much on screen visual diarrhea. His first phase is kind of a joke with how easy it is in comparison, and then they go full retard with the second phase. The game is great but it still suffers from some of the same issues the first did.
Almost every boss in this is far beyond every dark souls/ elder ring boss. Heck even the first world boss I fought was beyond them and this was just nutts
Remember, people like Esoterick are looking for an amount of challenge only 0.1% of players are actually looking for. So when something actually tests him he's gonna say it's amazing. Meanwhile normal people are going to get this far and realise it's virtually unbeatable for them. They should've saved this for an optional endgame boss. Not the main story final boss. I'm only on veteran and the 2nd phase is virtually impossible to not take damage and survive. Far too much going on.

I have a theory that annihilation is actually clawbone (god of the guar' re/root), especially since clawbone was stated to be a dragon.

I hated the boss so much with his bullcrap switching between the areas. It really screwed with my timing on dodging his attacks.

40 attempts later...second phase is just crazy...can't do it. solo veteran
I had to rework and minmax my build to beat it. I used hunter/medic combo. Had 53% damage reduct. Medium roll. It took many many try’s but beat it.
