Ooh I love Melissa Bonny and Rage of Light! This was awesome. At some point too, you should check out her other band AD INFINITUM. They are more of a symphonic metal band, and their material is really good

This is the first I have heard of Rage of Light, though this genre of metal is not my cup of tea I was impressed with this piece. Firstly I loved the lead vocals nice harmonies beautiful voice I'm not one to be able to judge this type of growel however she and the male vocal sounded good together. Now that guitarist has to have some other kind of talent to play 7 strings. I had to play woodwinds cause my fingers couldn't move that fast lol.
I enjoy the way you stop the video on the way through and discuss your thoughts. On what is going on musically and mechanically..

Cool that you checked their work out. The similarity between Melissa and Jonathan's voices is really apparent in live videos - none with the quality I'm used to from Jinjer but decent. Another great one from them is covering Twilight Of The Thunder God. Melissa has another project also collaborating in some degree of collaboration with Jonathan Pellet mentioned in the credits called Ad Infinitum - Marching on Versailles and I Am The Storm are great. Melissa also has done featured vocals in Feuerschwanz' song Ding, and Warkings' Odin's Sons.

DJ - First I'd like to say that you taught me a couple of things; 1. I caught that it was a 7 string before you said it, 2. I heard that repetitive cybal tap too...it didn't bother me, but I noticed it. I am happy to admit that you've improved my listening skills. The 2 voice growls were cool. The female singer taking a normal voice lead helped novice listeners like me move through the piece better than straight growls. Over all - this was a good experience. To me they are not as good as Nightwish, but then who is?? Oh man - is that DJ influence again? Hummmm.....
I tripped on this a while back. Melissa can sing and has pitched screams. Two requirements for my metal. She is in another band Ad Infinitem but that is a little too fluffy for me. Glad you liked it.
Ad Infinitum are not "fluffy". 🤦 Their debut album "Part 1: Monarchy" was one of my favourites from last year. The ease with which she switches from growls to cleans is breathtaking.

Being a DJ fan and a big a cappella nerd, this video was as far out of my wheel house as it can get, not a fan of what I call anger music, but the group is talented and the video was well produced.
