no its not . The way the guy is holding this pike, on the gill plate, behind the gills is the most safe grip for pike , it causes no damage to the jaw or gills. this Is refered to has chinning, lifting a heavy pike fully vertical by chinning is bad practise. however chinning a pike out of the water with a strong grip, and stomache support if big or keeping the fish horizontal in the water is the safest practice this is because even with large rubbber mesh nets made for lure fishing loose trebles can get caught in the net, pike love to roll, and this unfortuanly can cause tares in the fishes mouth especially when using barbed hooks. this is a full explanation.@@tanner2stryker2
Right now :-) The swim is very versatile and works perfectly for almost any conditions. You can switch between the different sinking rates, if you wan't to fish specific layers of the water column.
The rod used in this video is a W4 Powershad. You can read more about it following this link: www.westin-fishing.com/en/products/powershad--powershad-t/w4-powershad Have a nice day! :-)

Great video but why don't you guys use landing nets?
No need to as he's wading, far better to 'chin' them in that situation.
