Re doing free repairs, i have been in this situation and it always the case that expensive
parts are required, what i do is only charge for the parts if the customer can afford them.
Going back many years when you visted customers homes to do the repair you could tell
the genuine cases of hardship, and i have often done low cost repairs to try and help them
    make ends meet.

Couldn't you have used a sky remote for it. You can get them to work on most TVs .. Baird was the brand name used by Radio Rentals ..

I really enjoy your channel as I have repaired TV’s since high school I “repaired” a Samsung two days ago using your video as a guide, the set had the dreaded 2 blink code and I put a piece of paper under the ribbon cable and restored the pix and it worked
Very well, saved another set from the bin and the owner was thrilled Thanks to you I was able to know where the paper went.

I normally use the code search function. you switch tv on and go through code search until it turns off. you might need to Google the remote instructions on button procedure. It's normally set/search code and press power then channel up until tv switches off. however they are all different those remotes.

Try this Allen . Manually turn on your TV, put the remote into auto scan or learn mode keep it pointed at the TV until the TV switch is off and then press the ok key straight away for the remote to learn that in. That universal remotes are always a challenge I have three of them here cost $12 Australian

Allen I noticed there’s loads in the code book starting with 1’s and 0’s, what’s the model number ? Do you have a mobile phone with an infrared led function as there is an app where you can use your phone as a remote it’s called (i r blaster)

Thought I'd gone mad. First 5 minutes is repeated.
Of course, I might still have gone mad, too.

You could have shortened this video to 5 minutes, you dragged it out.

It’s called communicating. It’s what I do. I could also have made it an hour.
