  • Breaking down a run containing six notes, and incorporating these notes into a run which can be played many different ways. We can build solos by mixing up the order in which we play the pattern.

Henri through your tutorial I played the piano in a kinda free way for the first time in my life. I had piano lessons as a kid but never really connected to this wonderful instrument. Learning patterns by pure mechanic just wasn’t for me.
Through autodidact guitar play I stayed connected to music and thanks to the blues scale began to structure. Now your amazing tutorials made me connect to the keys. For the first time in my life, recently at my parents‘, for the first time ever, thanks to what had stuck through watching one of your vids months ago, I simply „played“ for a while. Modest as it was, it felt fantastic. Thank you. Will definitely donate. Keep up the great work!

    Henri,
These advanced lessons are PERFECT for me!!!! Love how you show the varied ways using the same 6 keys. It allows for easy improving.
The first lesson was fantastic...picked it up very quickly. This lesson will be the same. I can’t wait.
As you know...repetition equals muscle memory in your fingers, and then we can play without even thinking about.
Keep these coming, Henri...of course, in C please. ;-)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Again, my gratitude for your efforts is coming via PayPal. ;-)
    Gary

The patterns you showed just blew my mind and opened up so many possibilities. I feel like this little demonstration of a descending pattern that can be chopped up or played till the end made me realize me how technically simple playing can get. I feel like a pro! ! !

Fantastic vid, Henri! When are you and Jools Holland gonna play a boogie woogie together? With you 2 and Imelda May on vocals, that would make one heck of a concert/album!

I can do the left hand. I can do the right hand. I absolutely cannot do them both together haha! Any tricks for that Henri? I imagine it's just hours and hours of practice until your hands are working without having to think. Great videos. When will you come to Canada?

I think I speak for everyone here by saying we wanted to know how to do the ending more than the runs. That's more fitting to advanced anyway.
