Your new 1000 Guineas ante-post favourite - DESERT FLOWER demolishes 2024 Fillies' Mile rivals

- What a performance! The unbeaten Desert Flower stamped her class on the 2024 bet365 Fillies’ Mile with a stunning success at Newmarket under jockey William Buick for trainer Charlie Appleby and owners Godolphin.
Unbeaten in her previous three races, the Night Of Thunder filly took her form to another level in the Group One feature despite Aidan O’Brien fielded three very highly-regarded fillies against her, with Ryan Moore choosing January, a length and a half behind the winner at Doncaster last time.
Heading into the dip as Dreamy, another O’Brien inmate, dropped away as Ballydoyle pair of Ballet Slippers and January still remained in contention, but once they hit the rising ground the race was over with the 10-11 favourite running out an impressive five-and-a-half-length winner from January.
Now a 4/1 chance for the Betfred 1000 Guineas in the spring, Appleby confirmed that his star filly will head straight to the Classic for her next start as the juvenile signs off a perfect campaign.

Stunning.
Wow she’s something else pure class nice ride William 👌💙
Impressive
Big powerful filly !
I was on January ( hoping she would turn the form around from Doncaster) but not a chance!
That was impressive. Looks like Charlie has some nice horses to add competition. We are lacking that gd to see
She was still very green and all over the place but she has some engine. Hopefully her and Lake Victoria both show up at Newmarket next May fit and well as it should be a battle to saviour.
@Suemaher
That's true, it should be competitive.
@@frankelforever14She looks good for next year, hopefully her and Lake Victoria will both go the right way over the winter. 🤞
@@nightowl7459 fingers crossed would be nice to see the Coolmore v Godolphin rivalry again.
@@frankelforever14 It would, hopefully both will show up at Newmarket next May in good order.
Nice filly Wait until next season loved the ground
Desert Flower Is One TOUGH Filly!!
Godolphin have an even better 2YO, called East Avenue. This horse is a monster! 5/1 for the BC Juvenile 👍
That East Avenue does look good.
That's American horse totally different
@@robertdelacy3434And it's a colt, but it's still Godolphin and was impressive when it won about a week ago.
@@nightowl7459 I know it's godolphin but he said it's a even better horse then the winner today but you can't compare the two
@@robertdelacy3434 No, that's true, but I'm not sure it was a comparison, I assumed Summer_Soldier was just pointing out that they have a good one in America.
Considering it wandered a long way to both sides of the track, it was a highly impressive win and margin.
You couldn't fail to be impressed by this performance. January might not be Coolmore's main hope for the first fillies Classic next year but, on the evidence of this race, Lake Victoria will face a formidable rival in Desert Flower.
Breathtaking. If she trains on, and I sincerely hope she does, we are in for a lovely 2025!
Desert Flower is very good . Way too good for OBriens second string .❤
3rd or 4th string
@@robertdelacy3434Apart from Lake Victoria and Fairy Godmother, who are his other strings? Bedtime Story certainly looks exposed now.
Slowly, Slowly...... It's going to be a long winter! 😎✌️
Looks an Oaks winner to me. Wouldn't be sure of having the pace to win a guineas as today goes from going nowhere to absolutely motoring home.
I wouldn't like to back her for a mile and a half, I think she would have enough pace if it's a good enough run Guineas.
I tend to agree. She really only hit top gear a furlong out, but started her run at the 3f pole. She’ll still take a bit of stopping in the guineas, but January was cruising 2f out & I just wonder where she is in the pecking order at Ballydoyle.
Be surprising if she stayed 12f on breeding
Well done to Godolpin today and a great Group 1 winning performance by Desert Flower as well as a good showing from Verse of Love. I dont think there is a great deal between Desert Flower and Victoria Falls who have both had 3 or 4 runs now and appear to be the top of the tree as we go into winter. However there may be one or two other fillies who haven't really shown their hand yet as well as still maturing and growing. At this moment in time it seems to be between those two for the 1000 gns but wouldn't be surprised if the French filly Zarigona came over as well to add intrigue to what already seems to be a great race in the offing.
I dont think there is much between Verse of love (16/1) and Desert Flower(4/1) for the Guineas. It will be intresting how they come back in the spring.but 16/1 for Verse of Love is a very good price.
Would be very, very unlikely to see the Aga filly at Newmarket
You obviously meant Lake Victoria, didn't you?
10/1 for the oaks looks a decent price
Her breeding does not scream 12f
Very few horses nowadays are bred to stay 1m 4f . But plenty do . Golden horn minding . content . Cape Blanco all out of sprinters and milers .
@@Londoneast80
Golden Horn was related to Rebecca Sharp.
Minding is by Galileo.

Desert Flower does not have a middle distance pedigree.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Just think how good she'll be when she learns to run straight? Half sister to Aaablan. Another decent one by Night Of Thunder.
💚
Martin Lewis u need to learn how to judge racing mate
You can't teach stoopid
I see loser Lewis is trying to call Desert Flower, he obviously backed his man crush Moore's mount January.
Yep - Lewis has once again provided proof that he is a complete idiot (not that we needed any further proof).
@@musicmike1972Thue, every time loser Lewis makes a comment he gives us proof of what a fool he really is.
@@Thomas-vg8ov - Yes, he also calls out people as having fake accounts when we know he has a stable of fake accounts which act as his pretend clueless friends. He's a clueless troll...

@@Thomas-vg8ov oh you better pack up your bags and escape to another country now that the little 🚼 has reported you 😂😂😂. He is extra angry tonight after Ryans latest big day no show.
Martin Lewis this filly will absolutely smash Lake Victoria
I don't know about that
Yep id say I'm Lake Victoria has the edge at this point but a lot can happen over the winter. Fingers crossed both winter well and we get to see them go head to head throughout the season.
@@frankelforever14It's certainly a close call, I would side with this filly as she gets a mile well, but as you say, it's all about what happens from now to next May that counts.
@@frankelforever14 lake Victoria has more speed
@@robertdelacy3434 of course she does because she’ll be a sprinter
Nothing special probably beat a average field. 🤷
Beat nothing. Ran all over the course
