Humans will act in all sorts of inappropriate ways to avoid cognitive dissonance. Unfortunately, GWs business model generates large amounts of cognitive and emotional dissonance, and people create mental barriers to assuage that dissonance. Then something like BattleTech comes along and disrupts their coping strategies with how much they have invested in WH/D&D. The solution is, of course, to remember to have fun without making "fun" some commodity that you sacrifice blood, sweat, tears and relationships to obtain.
I 3d print chameleon TRC-4B minitures and record sheets for teaching sessions. Everyone gets to keep thier mech and sheet.
