That's why they should bring hard mode to Legends. Right now, if you mess up one attack, you have a good chance of going negative because of how easy it is to triple bases.
To be honest, there were a lot of players using root riders in legend league, and they 3 starred my base. When other players use a normal army, they've failed to get the 3 star. So I think Supercell should nerf root rider for the fourth time, to try to balance the game and not add hard mode in legend league. This is from my personal experience.
pro bases are not really built for legends and there are not many good base builders in legends. Those that are good have solid defenses. But there is maybe only a handful of good legend builders in the world. That just shows how hard it is to actually build good bases.
I would argue TH15 was pretty bad for base builders. All you needed to do was throw a bunch of defenses around 2 rage towers and the base would get 0 starred in low legends and 2 starred half the time in super high legends. It was incredibly easy. I literally used the same double rage tower ring base in 4 consecutive CWL's in Champion 1 or 2, and it would defend almost every single time because the game as so ridiculously difficult.

I was 5900 trophies and now back to 4200. Just got boring because everyone 3 stars. It's like you get 3 stars, he gets 3 stars, I get 3 stars, everyone gets 3 stars. I'm hoping they seriously buff the defenses.
I think they should introduce some flying defense which doesnt occupy any space on ground . It should increase the strength of defense and game will be more balanced.

This army is broken. I finally was able to invest ore into the abilities to use this a couple days ago. I have a level 20 fireball and a level 8 rage gem. Almost all of my equipment is under-leveled actually, I have a level 9 giant gauntlet and level 11 frozen arrow. Despite all of that and having to use 2 eq spells for the fireball, it still is completely destroying bases, even in hard mode. Yesterday I did a friendly challenge while my queen and king were regenerating.... I still got 3 stars. To address the legends issue, I'm very frustrated. It is demoralizing to have to go perfect every day and still get minimal progress. The only way you can make notable progress is by getting lucky days on defense. I and some of my clanmates have used the exact same base before and gotten completely different results. Then, if you have one bad day on offense because of a couple mistakes, now you lose a ton of progress and have to do great for like a week to make the trophies back up. I see some of the most atrocious attacks triple, and it makes me mad. In the past, your ability to attack was the ceiling that held you back from progression. Now the ceiling is defense, which like you said, is way more difficult and less fun than practicing your attacks. Only a very small amount of people can actually consistently get good defensive results, for everyone else it is purely luck. The game is no longer mostly skill, but luck.
The super witch build is really crazy, I got 320 trophies in the legend cup for the second time yesterday, but there was no pressure at all, it was as if everything was supposed to happen. Thanks iTzu
i literally climb less then 20 trophies a day rn its always 300+ on offense and -300 on defense, and many days its a 320 on offense and -320 on defense.
Legends has been broken since the lavaloon troop last October. It's ridiculous what SC has done to active, competitive players. Almost a year of spam being at the top of the meta 🤦😞
It would be interesting to see a video where you explain, give idea of how to maximize chances of defenses (how builds work, how rage tower must be used and give idea to make peaple build). Because the problem is every bases look the same at least most of bases are shared and copied, only a few one build and I’d love you to show the process of building a base !

Regarding the situation in Legends League, I think there is no way to resolve it, because the better the game's defense, the less fun the game is, they are directly related. I understand that there are good builders frustrated with poor defense performance, but I really don't like it being better for them because people can easily copy their base with zero base building skill and having good defenses
Either buff def or Nerf some troops like druids valk og etc for making game intresting best phase or the game was th 15 with original rage tower wher only skilled player r able to 3 star
I really enjoy when th15 is the max. Lvl of th bcoz we only need skill in legend on th15 but now equipments spams good base is useless after 2 days and attacks are so easy
this is why all I care about in legends right now is the star bonus. There's nothign else for me to waste time on. Just waiting for another war to have some fun, but it's difficult to find the will to play more than this. There's not much of a challenge and building bases isn't fun, it's boring as hell. going 7 for 7 in CWL would feel more rewarding if it was a bit more difficult. Maybe they will give us hard mode in legends eventually.
LOL I faced that same second base and ran into the same scenario you did of expecting troll Tesla's but there weren't any so I invis the warden then go to use fireball but he had already activated defensive invis so the fireball missed. Then the warden died to the damage and I ended up with my only non 3 star for the day, in fact a 94% one star 🤦🏼♂️. I know better for next time now!
Itzu, it's kinda contradictory how you defend the meta being easy for the sake of players entertainement but you have no issue saying right after that the game should also be defense too, when building a base is the least entertaining things to do in the game, i don't even think 1% of the legend league players are building their bases, and even pros usually just tweak the traps placement. I thought it was about players entertainement but they have to build bases in order to be good now?
Legends and even wars is cooked. I’ve had 3 perfect back to back to back cwls and have maybe missed 5 attacks for the whole seasons that have been 95% 2 stars 😂

Every base you attacked this video were copied bases that are very recognizable, yet they are high in trophies. If you watch other higher level legend attacks like stars, he's also just attacking the same bases. The base design doesn't matter when you can miss a fireball, lose warden early, and still get 97% like you did on that attack today.
You can three-star every attack, but if you don’t have a base that will keep opponents down to one or two stars, you will not rise high in the legend league ranks.
That’s not how legends works. Everybody on defense is getting rolled there is no good base. The people that rise are flawless on attack and get +320 or +310 every day. But sure, if you’re at 5.1k you’ll have good defensive days.

Honestly once i upgraded my TH to lv12 2 mnths ago and tried the super wicthes They started to get boring like really iam easily 3 starring powerful TH13s and feels boring for something to bee too easy and too strong Show us something new
If you just watch the best Clash players in the world on TH-cam I can see how you might think this game is too easy. But when I look at my battle log in mid-low legends I find my base is rarely 3-starred. A handful of people 3-starred the Haaland “Impossible Challenge,” was it too easy? I think some of the commenters here are just seeing the game from their perspective as highly skilled players in clans of skilled players. The big picture is that the vast majority of players are nowhere near Itzu’s level and the game seems very different for them.
Legends is such a joke atm. Once you hit 5.7ishk you’re lucky to have two defenses. My last 3 days I’ve had 7/8 3 stars in defense and I’m matching on attack so I’m treading water. I wouldn’t mind it if stupid valk and rider spam with overgrowth wasn’t so strong. Overgrowth should be 3 spell slots. Nerf the damn thing it’s been so obviously overpowered for so long.

I am also pushing with the same army... I am at 5664 trophies. Since my fireball is level 23, I am using 2 EQs dumping one invisibility spell

I think they should bring back the old town hall explosion, ever since they nerfed the town hall as a defense it made attacking so much easier

In my opinion this attack is stronger with a few root riders which frees up a space for a few funneling super barbs

The same thing happened to me (the 3rd one) I didn’t see a canon and I dropped the earthquake where a want the fireball to land😕
What i did was made a double invisibility spells base and just cross yours fingers for some attackers to mess up and fail.
this is why all I care about in legends right now is the star bonus.
