Understanding Lumped System Analysis in Transient Conduction: Zero Dimensional Heat Transfer

  • Lumped System Analysis is a approach used in transient heat conduction when spatial temperature changes within a body is negligible compared to temperature change of a body with respect to time. The first step in the application of lumped system analysis is the calculation of the Biot number (Bi), and the assessment of the applicability of this approach. Small bodies with high thermal conductivity are good candidates for lumped system analysis, especially when they are in a medium that is a poor conductor of heat (such as air or another gas) and motionless.

      Thank you very much for your appreciation. You see I also have work related to my studies, so whenever I get time then only I work on my videos. Also I always try to keep my explanation as simple as possible and that requires lot of research from my side. I am currently working on a video related to Entropy.
