- This is the start of the new Tweeterhead 2.0 line. My new Overview of their Superman Maquette in the 1/6 scale. Very cool piece. However, there is some red over-spray that causes the yellow areas between his 'S' emblem to be inconsistent in the shade. It's noticeable to me. Also there appears to be some red coming through the yellow 'S' on the cape. Other than these paint issues it's a very nice piece with very nicely done portraits!
I bought this statue, too and it is easily one of the best Superman statues ever. From the realistic anatomy to the bright colors to the handsome face sculpt, it absolutely embodies what Superman should look like. I also noticed the orange spray paint on the front and back \S/ symbol and also the belt, but I think it is meant to give the effect of shading and depth. Notice that the orange spray on the front symbol is in the mid chest area only and along the cape folds for the back symbol. The problem is that there is too much contrast between the orange and yellow to have it look convincingly like shading. The colors used to indicate shading on the muscles and cape achieve this effect much better because there isn't that high degree of contrast between the darker and lighter colors. Overall, I think Tweeterhead did a great job with this, and even my friends who are not Superman fans have complimented this statue.
I agree that it embodies Superman. I like the pose and the portrait. However, I cannot agree with you that the paint is meant to be shading. XM Studios would never have these issues with the paint. However XM pieces cost significantly more. My point is that you get what you pay for and for a 1/6 piece Tweeterhead has delivered a really good statue for the price. But congrats on your purchase! I'm also glad to have it.
I love the statue, I've got the same issue with mine, I noticed as soon as I unboxed but now that he's on display it's not a big deal. I picked up the variant (Recovery suit) as well and that one the black & silver are perfect. I agree with you on the portraits they are all great, I've got the traditional short hair with heat vison on this Superman and long hair on recovery suit. I'm so looking forward to what gets revealed this summer😁
Cheers! Happy collecting! I see that XM has a quarter scale Classic Superman coming soon. Curious about the whole reveal.
I always love the vintage classic SUPER MAN! ❤️
This really looks cool.
I got the black suit version and the color application is well executed.
I hoped that they had given the option to remove the cape as Superman didn't use the cape in his recovery suit, but unfortunately they didn't give that option.
Congrats!
Good review, this is a nice piece!!!
Sort of wish I knew someone who might do a repaint on it. But I do enjoy the pose and the portrait! Leaning towards the long haired portrait these days.
Got both versions and YES I AGREE THE SYMBOL SIGNE HAS A LEAKAGE FROM THE RED! Was disappointed, but as you said when you keep looking at it, it's no BIGGIE! Black version WAS PERFECT :)
Yeah, I feel that the paint could have been tighter on the quality control. But Then you look at the price and it's like half of what an XM Studios piece would be for 6th scale. But the Paint on Tweeterhead's Poison Ivy Maquette was actually pretty good. So it beats me 🤷
This is 100% an intentional design choice. They shaded the yellow with orange. Between the pectoralis major there's an indentation and that's what they shaded.
In art you don't want to use a single color for each part because it can look very blocky, flat and boring. You want to add variety, be it with texture, color, value, light or other various elements.
To me it looks good.
I feel the yellow in the middle of the s is just a shading. I do that all the time when I coloring the s. It’s suppose to be the shadow of his peck
It's definitely not shading. It's red from the paint on the S. There should be consistent yellow in those areas. It doesn't look good.

Just my perspective and opinion as a professional artist.
@@erangilo392 I'm listening but I don't agree that it looks good. Compare it with Sideshow's A Call to Action chest emblem, or Oniri's Superman Man of Tomorrow emblem, or XM Studios Rebirth Superman chest emblem. It's unnecessary to shade the yellow. Just an opinion and of course everyone has one. I still like aspects of Tweeterhead's piece but it's crossed my mind about seeking a third party for a repaint.
@@stellar-artifacts if you look closely Sideshow's call to action is also shaded with a slight orange but they did a slightly better job with it. It is more subtle. So I agree with you theirs looks better. :)
Can’t wait to get mine……I already have the black suit(no problems) I finally got a Superman statue after so many companies made their versions in different scales…..Tweeterhead really outdid themselves my first ever 1/6 scale Superman statue I’m happy to own.👍
Congrats 👏
WHAT MORE NEED'S 2 BE SAID,SUPERMAN!!!!!!!!!!😆!!!!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Ha ha. Thanks for checking out my channel.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!😄!
very good review, I have the impression that this production from tweeterhead only has problems on the follow-up of the manufacturing with all that I could see on reviews and photos, I can't wait to receive mine, I am also waiting for scarecrow I hope he
there will be fewer worries.
At least they touched up and fixed the the belt. Yeah, that scarecrow looks pretty cool 😎. Congrats on the order.
Nice review. Yeah this is a great Superman statue.
Thanks for checking it out! Like and subscribe if you enjoy Similar content.
Awesome!!! Could you post a picture of this Superman near to XM Darkseid?
Man. I would but my XM Darkseid is next to my XM Black Suit Superman on a high shelf. I'll do a room tour sometime for my subscribers. But my display room will be evolving to be better as it's not as organized as it needs to be. I just got into statue collecting two years ago.
@@stellar-artifacts No problem bro… I'm curious to see bouth together. But my Superman will arrive soon… Tks my friend! Congrats for your collection…
I heard from other people the over spray is an artistic thing to sort of show reflection of the red. I mean all of them I’ve seen are like that so it seems to be on purpose.
This sounds like someone's opinion or impression. Tweeterhead has made no comments on it. I'm just saying that in my perspective this doesn't look good at all. My XM piece has a consistent shade of yellow throughout the chest emblem and the paint is perfect. And I might mention that XM has great texture and shading on their pieces.
Beautiful statue! Is it made of polystone?
Yes! Thanks for watching!
Would you consider selling one of the laser eye heads?
Sorry my friend. I like to keep my pieces complete.
Im still waiting on BBTS when they are gonna ship them out? Anyone have any news on that? Thanks.
I might suggest emailing BBTS for this update. I know Sideshow Collectibles would likely be the ones filling their orders and this piece is available and in stock.
@@stellar-artifacts i pre-ordered mine from BBTS and will email them. I didn't know sideshow collectibles would likely fill in their orders, thats new to me. Thanks for the advice 👍
Hello, been following your channel for awhile. Placed against each other, which in your opinion is better, this or the XM Studios Rebirth Superman?
Also, I'm really bugged by the discoloration on the S shield, this Supes had quite the no. of qc issues starting from its earlier release.
I agree about the Yellow on the Chest Emblem having red over-spray on it. It bugs me a little. The QC and paint is much better on XM statues for the most part. But I really like the pose and the sculpt on this Tweeterhead portrait better than the XM Rebirth piece. It's a trade off.
Ayt, thanks very much for the reply. Yeah, this is a much more classic and dynamically posed Superman. And it does look great. :)
XM is also planning to release a classic 1/6 Superman of their own, let's see how it will measure up to their own rebirth supes and this one.
@@McChillinVillain I thought I had heard that the new classic Superman would be quarter scaled but perhaps it will also be released in a 1/6. I know they recently began making their statues available in both scales. I anticipate it being a better piece than the 1/6 Rebirth Superman. The sculpt on that portrait was not the best.
If you don’t plan on using one of the variant heads with heat vision I will gladly pay for the long hair or short hair
I prefer to keep the entirety of the piece since it's the EX edition and it's numbered. But I understand your plight my friend.
That leaning to the right bugs me too much and i'm considering to cancel my preorder and get a refund. Damn you Tweeterhead...
It's not horrible really. The red over-spray in the yellow areas of the \S/ bug me more than the angle.
@@stellar-artifacts I saw other reviews and seems a common thing. So i guess it's not unintentional overspray but just shading. You can notice that behind his cape at the other S symbol. It's just shading.
