- Picked up my first new Nitro RC…a 1/8 scale HPI WR8 Nitro Subaru! I film the break in process and beating it up…maybe a little too much since I end blowing the motor lol.
I already have another engine in it and will make a follow up video of what went wrong.

Nitro engines don’t like to rev that high for that long especially if you do it over and over like that.

Many variables attributed to con-rod failures, to lean, to rich, engine temp mainly to cold 🥶 also poor engine manufacturing, poor fuel ⛽️ etc…. Temp gun cheap insurance during first gallon, reach out to warranty dept be polite share your love for their product & engine failure. They my send out brand new engine, stay well Nitro Brother 🏎💨

We need a follow up video! Was the piston/sleeve or block damaged? Sometimes you can get away with just a new rod depending on how bad everything else looks.
Definitly too lean. Had it also reving up like that, after the ride taking the body off, the engine just smoked and temps were beyond 140degrees C. So I enriched it until it kept below 110. definitly lost some peak power but temps are now reliably below 110.
I blew mine. Didnt warm it and went hard on wet grass with it running abot lean. Just went ‘TIK’ and stopped. Connecting rod snapped
This G3.0 engines sucks, I got crankcase cracked the other day....been so pissed off.

buy a temp gun when your driving it to the limit and over it was way to lean 😅👍
Running it dry of fuel doesn't do that. Probably overrevved it before it was ready to be pushed hard.
