Also is Freya a mini or full size? Because my full size Aussie was so fun, she was so fast and could beat a frisbee that I would throw her to where it would land and catch it. They’re so awesome
@@allaboutroofing2 thanks, she was 13 and had battled cancer for a year, she ended up having to be put down because Australians have bad hips so she could no longer get up on her own.

God bless you both and have a wonderful life....love from India
I’m so sorry if someone has already commented this, but PLEASE make sure you’re giving dogs peanut butter that is sugar-free and Xylitol free! Sugar is just not good for dogs weight, and Xylitol, while okay for humans, can be poisonous to dogs! Freya is so cute! I got my first puppy last month (lab mix) and my boyfriend and I are on a watchlist for a upcoming litter of Aussies later this year! So cute!
Ahhh the crying in the crate situation I remember that well. We had our dog in the kitchen for quite a while but she wouldn’t stop crying. We then moved her crate to the laundry room which is in sight of my parents and my room. She’s never cried since. It’s a long exhausting rode but so worth it when they are older!
Today I just bought a Australian shepherd puppy from a breeder he’s so adorable! He’s currently 6 weeks old so me and my family have to wait 2 weeks to bring him home. He’s so playful and sweet I can’t wait! :D
Freya is so darn cute!!! If you haven't yet, I recommend getting pet insurance or just setting aside some savings every month in case Freya (or Kitty!) ever needs it for an (hopefully this never happens) emergency vet visit or smth like that! Love Freya and love your videos!!!
You should sit by her while she eats and hand feed her sometimes, it makes the dog less food aggressive when it grows up🐶❤️ And if you have any problems with potty training you should give her treats when she goes out to potty, It makes the dog understand that its good to potty outside❤️❤️❤️❤️🐶🐶🐶

She was potty trained but was attacked by our neighbor’s golden doodle and she reverted, but we’re working on it.

She is so so gorgeous, NOT unlike her SPECIAL Mum. I think she is a very lucky little girl(well for now, haha) to have such a LOVING MUM and DAD. You and Griffin are loving and caring parents. As to "thumbs down", I am at a loss to understand how anyone cannot love puppies. I suspect that they can only be grumpy people, who simply choose to be unhappy individuals. I look forward to watching more videos of all 3 of you. Enjoy your precious "bundle of joy". Oh, and BTW, I lived in Australia for just over 21 years. Cheers.
There is a lot of puppy training for her, I used the TH-cam channel Kikopup to crate train, no biting clothes and furniture, how to walk on a leash, and so much more :)
I'm getting my Australian shepherd In a couple days and I found your channel to help me out with the experience and it has definitely helped me figure out what I'm gonna do, thank you so much for ur help ur amazing
Two quick tips:) having a puppy fall on hardwood floor is funny, but it’s really bad for them when they grow up cause it can lead to serious damage, so maybe put her on carpet or even buy something to put are get paws. The second one is you should put the crate near your bed since a Aussie is a very Velcro dog and they might feel better:) I hope this help and congratulations
thanks so much! she's 4 months old now and stopped slipping on the hardwood after like day 3 lol. she is also fully crate trained and doesn't cry at night while sleeping in our living room anymore, after about week 2. :)
Ugh I am IN LOVEE with her!!!! She’s so precious and her coat is beautifulllll😍 And she seems to be doing so well so far! I can’t wait to see more of her in future videos🤩 But I was wondering, do you have a favorite resource as far as crate training goes, and one that you’ve found to be most helpful and informative? Be prepared and do your research on how to make sure you give your dog the best life you can (exercise, jobs, training, recalls, etc.). I know the breed is becoming popular because they are beautiful looking dogs but I hope you are getting an Aussie for the right reasons
@@danielafigueroa528 I’ve spent years around aussies as my family has had one before and I’ve done my research. I am getting a dog for the right reasons, your comment is quite uncalled for as you have no idea who am I and why I am getting MY dog. You’ve commented on multiple people’s comments about the breed and I understand you are letting people know but majority if not all have done their research about the breed and are getting their own dog for the right reasons.
In my own opinion, no. They require A LOT of attention and exercise and training. First timers can have troubles with how smart they are, etc. but it isn't impossible.
omgggg the puppy biting will be AWFUL!!! They are herding dogs so she constantly bites your ankles when you walk. Honestly the best thing that has helped us THE MOST is the training course we are taking with her. It's online, and you do it yourself, but it's AMAZINGGGG. I'll link it here: www.fenrirdogtraining.com/ we're taking the Perfect Puppy Course. :) But also, TONS of toys!!! hard ones and rope toys are Freya's favorite. when she gets nippy the best thing we can do is ah-ah-ah the behavior and then give her a toy and then praise her so she knows what she CAN and CANT chew on! We also have Freya on a schedule which is a LIFE SAVER!!!! We started with taking her potty every hour on the hour then moved to every 2 hours after 2 weeks to help with potty training and we only had maybe 3 accidents in the house! She alternates between "nap time" and play/train time on her schedule which is GREAT!!! I actually just filmed a 3 month pupdate video to talk all about what we've been doing with her etc. so that should be out soon-ish if that will be helpful! :)

Aussies are a tremendous amount of work! I am sad to see so many people getting them because they’re ‘cute’ and ‘beautiful’! Truth be told, these dogs are so much work and a huge responsibility and they 100% need to fit your lifestyle

I’ve been wanting a dog for like 5-6 years and finally convinced my parents, i always thought i’d end up gettint a golden retriever but then i discoverd the australian shepherd! I’m gettint my pup in 3 weeks or so! Im so exited!
My playpen has a tarp under it because my floor is carpet so that if she has accidents in there at least it’s easy to clean up and then there’s a blanket on top of the tarp that can easily be cleaned
we pick our Rottweiler boy up tomorrow and I'm so excited that I can't sleep!! we have a 4 hr drive to pick him up but he is my dream dog. also just a side note, when giving peanut butter make sure that it is just 100% peanuts and no other ingredients
Love your video! I just was curious, have you ever watched Rachel Fusaro's dog training videos? Everything you're doing is like to the T of what she recommends. Its nice to see a real life example that it works.
They overheat real easy because of having two layers of fur so it's good to have the harness. my grandpa(I live with) has two mini aussies and I'm getting my own in two days. I'm so excited.
Ignore the question I got to that point in the video. What breeder did you get Freya from? If that's not too much info to share. I live in Michigan and have been thinking about getting a puppy. I love Australian Shepards so that breed is high on my list of breeds since I'm undecided at the moment. Freya is so adorable and I can't wait to see her grow in the videos. Please show her frequently in your videos.
I‘ve watched your videos even though we didn’t have a dog. But in 10 days we are fostering a puppy and now I am so grateful for your videos!! They are the best! Hugs from Munich
Dawn Dish soap can be very drying and cause skin issues if used for an extended period of time. Please don’t do that unless you’re in a pinch (or getting oil off of animals!)
I heard you say Michigan and i freaked out, Its so hard for me to find ethical aussie breeders here so im so happy that you linked where you got Freya from! She is so adorable and I cant wait to get one!
I watched this video and Immediately fell in love with this breed! After careful consideration and A LOT of research, I've decided to get one! I can't wait, I'm just dreading training and dealing with biting lol! The bells are such a great idea, Definitely buying some! I've been watching all of your training videos! I'm deciding on the names Saturn, Astronomy, Or London! I've been researching other names to see if there's anything better. Maybe when I see her the perfect name will just come lol! Already subscribed to you and Freya's channel! I love your channel, You share such awesome Tips and Tricks! Btw, Freya is adorable! ❤
I'm getting my 8 week old Australian puppy next week. I waited 6 months after Riley, my other aussie died. It was so devastating to me we had him for 13 years. Watching your video has has influenced me to get another puppy, thank you for your beautiful videos. Can you tell me how much you feed her?
AHHH omg so exciting!!! 🤩 I'm so sorry for your previous loss, 13 years is such a good long life!! As a puppy we would feed Freya 3x a day until she was full. We did that until she was about 3 1/2 months! We basically stopped feeding until full once the vet said we could stop :) I hope that's helpful!
Did you get her from a breeder? If so do you mind telling me what one? My family has been looking into getting an Australian Shepherd and we live in Michigan so this would be so cool!!!
we trained our dog with the touch command too! he's almost four years old and very stubborn so he forgets his training when he wants to haha, but most of the time it works so great as come!
Definitely what Clare said! If you're playing it safe, probably around 16 weeks when they have all of their shots is when they can go outside around other dogs. We haven't been taking ours outside yet and she's 12 weeks because we live around a lot of dogs and don't want her to get sick. but once she has all of her shots we're good! :)
Clare Stevens Tysm! Can i start just putting a collar on a 8-9 week old puppy? Just have her wear it around the house? (not all the time because I’m unsure if it would be fine for her to wear it 24/7)
Clare Stevens Oh ok! One last thing because it seems that you have a bit of experience, but can you bring a puppy under 4 months to places with like for example to families house for 1-2 hours in a carrier case? Because we won’t be able to have someone watch the puppy while we’re gone before she turns 4 months:(
Clare Stevens you really are such a helper thank you so much! Sorry for all the questions 😅 As of now, I don’t have any questions but might have some later as I’m a first time dog owner. But really though, thank you soo much for the help!
Clare Stevens hi! So so sorry for even MORE questions! But, do you think it’s better to neuter a dog or to not? And how do you get them used to their name? Thank you!!
My parents just left my house to bring my Australian shepherd to get put down, so here I am 😢

My playpen has a tarp under it because my floor is carpet so that if she has accidents in there at least it’s easy to clean up and then there’s a blanket on top of the tarp that can easily be cleaned
oh yeah! definitely easier to clean than carpet.
OMG!!!!! that dog is so cuteeeee, i would literally to all the way to michigan to find a puppy!
hahaha that's what we thought!!! going to Michigan wasn't bad AT ALL for her!
I’m going to get my Aussie next week and I’m so excited! Your vids make me even more excited 😆
OMG OMG OMG SO CLOSE! ❤️
I’m pretty young and I’m obsessed with Australia shepherds when I’m older I want to buy a Australia shepherd there cute.
they're the BEST! 💛
@@MyDriftingDesk they are wow your pretty lucky you have a Australia shepherd
we pick our Rottweiler boy up tomorrow and I'm so excited that I can't sleep!! we have a 4 hr drive to pick him up but he is my dream dog.
also just a side note, when giving peanut butter make sure that it is just 100% peanuts and no other ingredients
awww OMG I HOPE YALL ARE HAVING SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER!! ❤️
Love your video! I just was curious, have you ever watched Rachel Fusaro's dog training videos? Everything you're doing is like to the T of what she recommends. Its nice to see a real life example that it works.
yes I have!!! I follow her on Instagram too. she's AMAZING and definitely picked things up from her!!! Her tips are GREAT!
They overheat real easy because of having two layers of fur so it's good to have the harness. my grandpa(I live with) has two mini aussies and I'm getting my own in two days. I'm so excited.
thank you so so much! ✨
she's so cuteeeeeeeeee! I canttttttttttt 😍 😍 😍 😍 💖💖💖💖
I CANT EITHERRRR AWWWW ❤️❤️
Ignore the question I got to that point in the video.
What breeder did you get Freya from? If that's not too much info to share. I live in Michigan and have been thinking about getting a puppy. I love Australian Shepards so that breed is high on my list of breeds since I'm undecided at the moment. Freya is so adorable and I can't wait to see her grow in the videos. Please show her frequently in your videos.
ah yes!!! 13:11 I talked about her and linked their Facebook page :)
We LOVE her so so much! ❤️ she will DEFINITELY be in the vlogs!!!
I am picking up my Australian Shepherd in 7 days! I swear I have watched this video 50 times!😂 This has really helped me know what to expect!
AHHH OMG HOW EXCITING!!!!!
Omg it’s been 7 days since u commented on the vid, have u gotten it yet? Also congrats on the puppy!!!
@@loppyster3735 yes! thanks for asking:) you are so kind!
@@sunflower0974 😊
I’m getting a Goldendoodle-Aussiedoodle mix. I met the breeder, and her dogs looked super nice!
aww omg how fun! ❤️
Ok but tell me why my lil pupper just stood up as soon as she heard her crying and started looking at the tv tilting her head lol
awww hahah. she was like "who is that? what's wrong?!"
I just picked up an 8 week puppy and am super overwhelmed, your excitement is helping me lol
ahhh be so so excited!! the puppy stage is HARD but it goes by so fast, so soak up all the puppy kisses while you can!! 💛
Omg freaking adorable 😍
we're obsessed with herrrrr ❤️
little tip for putting a dog in a crate cover it with a towel so it’s dark ( training them for “nighttime”)
yup!! we have an ~official~ crate cover now but blankets work also!
after watching this i feel sooo lucky that our breeder lives 5 minutes away ... lol
also 100th comment
yessss, 3 hours wasn't TERRIBLE, but being closer would have been better hahah
I’m traveling 4 hrs to get my newest puppy in 2 days I WISH she was closer by I’m dreading it. But I know the dogs you travel for you never regret it
Hello fellow haikyu fan
@@snakes3280 well hello Owo
She’s SO CUTE! She gives me puppy fever 🥺
❤️❤️ thank you!!!
the way Griffin holds the sweet baby girl 😭
He's so sweet with her omggg ❤️
I‘ve watched your videos even though we didn’t have a dog. But in 10 days we are fostering a puppy and now I am so grateful for your videos!! They are the best! Hugs from Munich
awww 💗 fostering is amazing work!
I love how she says the FLOOF
hahah she is a FLOOOOOFFFF!!!!
Omg for my Aussie we have the same bells for her to ring when she wants to go potty. And it works!
ahh they're AMAZING! 💕
You can also use Dawn Dish soap for doggie wash. I figure they use it for animals who have oil on them so hopefully it’s ok
We used our shampoo since we already had it!!! :)
Dawn Dish soap can be very drying and cause skin issues if used for an extended period of time. Please don’t do that unless you’re in a pinch (or getting oil off of animals!)
I asked my Dad from one of those dogs and he said when we move out of the apartment and we’re only staying here for half a year
how exciting!! 💙
Someone else is in my same situation?? I thought I was the only one 😭😭
Awww puppy life🥰 They're are so much fun except for potty training. waking up every 2-3 hours at night is rough.
YUP hahahah
I heard you say Michigan and i freaked out, Its so hard for me to find ethical aussie breeders here so im so happy that you linked where you got Freya from! She is so adorable and I cant wait to get one!
aww omg! yeah, she's about a 3 hour drive from us, so not too bad!
I've been researching other names
to see if there's anything better. Maybe when I see her the perfect name will just come lol!
Already subscribed to you and Freya's channel!
I love your channel, You share such awesome Tips and Tricks!
Btw, Freya is adorable! ❤
awww love those names!! I vote for Saturn! ❤️
every time i watch this video i get more excited to pick my puppy up!
ahhh!! SO EXCITING!!! 🫶🏼
@@MyDriftingDesk yes it is! Did u feed her about 1 cup of food?
Well as a puppy we fed her until she’s was full. Sometimes a cup, sometimes more. Now she gets 1 cup in the morning & 1 at night.
@@MyDriftingDesk thanks!
I HAVE AN AUSSIE TOO!!! That dog is WORK but also the sweetest thing I am so excited for y’all!!!
omg she's already so much work hahaha but we love her!!!
She is so cute! I’m getting my little girl next month. So excited.
omg omg omg how exciting!!!
Did you get her from a breeder? If so do you mind telling me what one? My family has been looking into getting an Australian Shepherd and we live in Michigan so this would be so cool!!!
She talked about it in the vid, she said she would link them in the description but I couldn't find it
whoops!! they're linked now! but here is their facebook page! facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057533646052
I talk about them at 13:11 :)
@@MyDriftingDesk Thank you! I probably should have watched the whole video before I commented! LOL sorry
What breeder did you get your Aussie at , my family is looking for a Aussie and that dog looks like the breeder took care of her ver well!!!
So I just heard you mention it sorry :[
Glad you found it!! 💛💛💛
i know this is late late but freya’s heterochromia iridis is sooooo pretty!! aussies are my dream dogs! congrats!
aww omg thank you so much!!
we trained our dog with the touch command too! he's almost four years old and very stubborn so he forgets his training when he wants to haha, but most of the time it works so great as come!
it's sooo helpful hahaha.
As these are so cute but I don’t think I’m quite ready probably when I’m older but I am so happy that you’re happy and congratulations
thank you so much!
Hi! I really need help! So, at what age can a puppy start going on walks? And how long and how often? Tysm!
Thank you!!
She is the sweetest puppy ever
❤️❤️ ahh thank you!
I got my puppy yesterday, god I am already exhausted! so I am rewatching all of this to motivate myself to do this right.
YOU GOT THIS!!! It gets harder before it gets easier! 💕
AHHHHHHH PUPPY SOOOOOOOO PRITIY
AHHHH THANK YOU!!!! ❤️❤️
Omg do they have two pets both with heterochromia? If so, that’s NOT FAIRRR
the cat just has green eyes, but I wish! 💜
