This was hands down the best band of 2023. It takes a lot of talent to pull off what they do. Regarding bands that achieved success, she might be one of the best heavy metal frontmen of the past 20 years.

There are no signs that dancing and singing are taking their toll on the overall quality of her performance, yet when Su is singing you can hear differences in loudness and how she has to manage dancing and singing which does affect her - because it's one hell of a thing to do.

the growls for Metali are prerecorded, but it's a smarter move bc she's still training with growls. for how many times the girls have performed live now, if she were to do them live and consistently, she'd strain her voice. speaking as someone with experience as i've literally done growls live with the bands i'm in, it takes a lot of upkeep to be able to do them consistently and not hurt your voice along the way bc if you do them wrong they can harm your vocal chords, however, Momo has growled live on the Ratatata Fox Fest Live music video and you can tell bc her voice sounds different from the recording. i've also physically tried to do her "HedobanGYAAA" growl and that one's live because of the very high note change before she goes into the growl. it's not easy to go right from clean vocals to harsh but she did it really well
Omg shes not singing, especially growling. Its a recording. The mic changee distance yet the vocals dont change. You can tell a HUGE difference between Su singing live and Momo lip syncing. She does all the "extra" vocals. Like the part in the tom morello song. She doee the little dance while pretending to do that old woman part. With the exception of Moa having vocals on a couple songs, none of the background vocals are live. Su has the only live mic and it was dead when Momo sang. I wonder if its even her voice. it's definitely her voice. she's still training with growls. to be fair, this is one of her first big shows with BM as a fully official third member and not just as an Avenger, so it's likely they wanted to keep her voice from straining too harshly, but even if it is a prerecord, this is all her vocals. she did a similar shtick for her take on Meta Taro the following night. speaking as someone with growling experience, you need to train properly and do a lot of upkeep so your vocal chords don't strain or get ruined. tea with honey always helps my voice, as well as Ricola Throat Balm cough drops. Melissa Cross is a vocal teacher who strictly teaches people metal vocals and she describes how to keep yourself from getting hurt while doing harsh vocals and tells you how to properly do them. it's a smarter move on Babymetal's part to have some of Momo's growls be prerecords so she doesn't hurt herself. (especially given Yui ended up leaving the band due to injuries and health issues she sustained on and offstage, it seems like Koba's taking extra special care of Momo so she doesn't get hurt either)

Su only ever did lip sync in moskau but only because she had a really bad cold and didnt want not to perform. If you look for her performence you could see she was in pretty bad shape and was sniffing the entire time. They did multiple breaks for Su back then. So i give them Credit for that. That is the only time they did it. So it is real singing.
I've been trying to convince myself that I'm wrong since this happened, but I'm 99% sure that it's not Momo that's growling. I'm pretty sure someone in the band is doing that. I hope I'm wrong but whatever. Love the band and the 3 of them

If you watch some Metali live videos very carefully and you look at her mouth and face, it looks like that growl part is completely lipsynched. She does not look like she is growling, or even moving her face at all. That's when my doubts started. But as I said, I hope I'm wrong and she does have that power in her ❤
