    Thanks for quick response yesterday! We've always used "Beaters" in 2 Read but what "Beaters" come to mind out of Trips when in Solo and or Mix (we play both). You rock Coach!

      In Mix it will always be the offenses ability to get #2 matched up Vertically on your safety

      Thanks Coach! We see a lot more Solo, what routes come to mind as “Beaters”? I’m thinking Smash with Hitches by #s 1/2 and Corner by #3 for instance.

    I hope he know that this is essentially a match defense concept in which he expressed he didn't like in previous videos. fire zone has the same concepts but diffident verbiage. There was actually no buzzwords presented in the video as well. A Buzzword is one single word or a combination of words which gives a clear indication of what you want from a players technique or assignment. For example, people use the buzzword "drop a bomb" for a corner giving the thought that the corner must get out of his break fast. or "Build A Wall" giving the implication to a defense that the fits must be met on the line of scrimmage by being squared and not running up field.

    Coach Mac, love this video! Thanks as always! I have two questions for you: How does your SS determine that they need to expand due to the #3 pull? Are they reading #3, do they get a call from the mike, etc?
    Also, how long are your players supposed to wait before they decide if it's wide or tight? Most RB and H-back routes are either going to go wide immediately, or go tight immediately, but what about routes which present a more cloudy read, like an angle (arrow and slant in), arc and hook, etc?

      We read 3 and don't push until you are threatened to be out leveraged.

    Coach one question, are you having your LB's and SS collision "Under" Routes to not allow them to cross the formation? This would probably be talking about the MLB. Also with the SS on Vertical releases. Thank you in advance.

    • @CoachMac
      @CoachMac  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the routes go Under immediately we will not be able to collision them.

      On the Vertical of #2 are you getting hands on him with the SS?

    • @CoachMac
      @CoachMac  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only if 2 is there to get hands on, we don't work aggressively to get hands on because we do not have seam issues.

    Will u answer me this question ok well I’m in 8 grade about to go into highschool in 2 months or so well and I’ve been working out for about 3 months now and I’m weighing 174 and I want to be a lineman so how much do u think I should be weighing for freshman football and I live in a small town in southern Illinois and I don’t know if this matters or not but I’m 5’11

    • @CoachMac
      @CoachMac  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The true Rambo 5’11 180 is good size for a freshman lineman. If you grow another 2 inches your frame can hold 250-275. With proper eating and lifting you should be 210 by sophomore year and 230 by junior year.

      Thomas MacPherson Great. I’m interested in learning how to read coverages more than anything else. It changes pretty often it seems. Different looks etc. Enjoy your videos. Lot of great content. Thanks.
