    In all honesty, I'm so afraid of Venti's 2nd story quest. Every time Venti appears, he feels like an old man living in the last of his days, getting ready to "kick the bucket." Currently we meet the requirements for "The Pale Princess and the 6 pigmes," but I wouldn't hold my breath and believe that Hoyo wouldn't start killing of the rest of the gods.

      Nah, I don't think he'll die. He's the 2nd oldest Archon, won a war when he was still an elemental wisp, and managed to make Mondstadt one of the most peaceful regions in Teyvat, all while being incognito and not involved in the government system directly. He's a crafty guy, and won't die easily

      @saif-gv6gl I REALLY hope he doesn't die. I hope the Traveler gets to see his journey to the end with all of the "6 pigmes," plus the dragons. I would think that it could be funny if Apep, despite their warnings and grumpy attitude, shows up to the "party" and helps take down "The Heavenly Principles."

    It seems like the 7 archons are completely unimportant to Celestia as individuals. What matters to celestia is the 7 seats and the associated Gnoses.
    Nahida postulates that the only way to wake up the sustainer of heavenly principles is to destroy a gnosis. So even destroying the seat of archonhood like in Fontaine may not be enough to attract their attention so long as the gnosis remains.

    • @kadatheklund2904

      I think Nahida was actually bluffing with Dottore, Tsaritsa is collecting the Gnosis, archons retiring, abyss, the Hydro Throne.... i mean theres not too much else for them now.

    • @thegreatBarbossa
      @thegreatBarbossa 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Egeria was originally created in order to fill to role of the Hydro Sovereign as the "heart" of the Primordial Sea, a function she likely fulfilled until her death.
      We could assume she still acts as the "heart" of the Primordial Sea while she's a tree, but to me it seems more likely that this role was passed on to Focalores, as Egeria didn't need to die, like Focalores, for Neuvillette to get his full power.
      More importantly tho, Neuvilette doesn't need the Gnosis to hold this full authority, which could either mean that it doesn't really do all that much, or that he specifically doesn't need it. We know that the former is wrong, since Scaramouche was able to ascend to godhod through the use of a Gnosis.
      The Fatui stealing a Gnosis also never actually challenges an Archons seat, which means there is a deeper level of authority the Archons hold, which is unrelated to the posession of a Gnosis. This could mean that all archons fulfill some kind of role like the one Egeria was created for.
      For example: Maybe Apep used to have authority over Irminsol and Buer was created to function as the trees avatar and fulfill this role instead.
      Since Focalores was only able to return Neuvilette's full authority over the element of Hydro to him by not only dying but shattering the "Throne of the Hydro Archon" it seems to me like Celestia needs seven Archons to exist in order to replace the seven Sovereigns within the world of Teyvat and to keep their full power locked away from them.

    i don't think there is any contradictions with the explanations we've seen about how visions are given. After reading Neuvillette's vision story and Ei's visions voice line, my interpretation of it is that archons are required to set aside some of their power so that, when the time comes where someone awakens to their vision, whoever is in charge of giving visions takes some power from the pool that was set aside by the archon and gives it to the new vision bearer in the form of a vision. When Ei says "it is not by my will that Visions are granted or denied. The key is people's desire, and... well, there's another side to it too," I took this as, archons do not choose to give someone a vision, visions are granted based on someone's desires, and there is someone out there, not an archon, who is in charge of handing out visions. When Neuvillette's story says "whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift," I took it as, again, the archons do not have a choice in the matter of granting a vision. They are required to set aside some power like it was stated in the line "the Seven Archons still had to impart a shattered shard of their mastery to that person." Archons do not grant visions, but visions are made from a fraction their power. Judging by how Ei was super vague about there being another side to vision granting, Celestia is most likely involved.

    I'm only through the beginning of the video but-
    I think it's very important to note that it seems the replacements for each archon are supposed to be set up *by the archon themselves*. Rukkhadevata tells us she had to make Nahida as she was dying, Focalors tells us she was appointed as the next archon just in case something happened to Egeria before she set off to fight, and Ei implies she was always kept around specifically as a replacement for Makoto because Makoto wasn't good at fighting while Ei was.
    I think what happens when an archon dies is exactly what happened when Focalors died. The throne is destroyed and the power returns to the dragon Sovreign wherever they may be as long as the acting Archon had yet to set up a replacement. Otherwise Rukkhadevata would have had no need to rush a replacement with her dying breath, as Celestia would have just made one on their own in due time.
    I dont think FOcalors did anything special to kill herself, I think she just needed enough power TO kill a being as powerful as an archon, that no longer has a physical body even.

    I’ve been entertaining the idea that the Inazuma Resistance would’ve ultimately succeeded in killing Ei if the Traveler wasn’t there.
    We’ve seen- correction, We’ve heard stories of a Resistance against a Deity Ruler succeeding with many sacrifices, Decarabian’s death, liberating Mondstadt.
    Amos shot an arrow at Decarabian and it was reflected back hitting her and taking her life. Decarabian surrounded Old Mondstadt with a Dome of Storms that no one could get through, and it was no big effort for him to do so, considering that it was evidently up for who knows how long (pretty sure it’s been suggested that it was active for years?) so, creating a barrier around him that could deflect any and all attacks is definitely within his skill set, so how is it that an arrow got through and killed him? (I think I read somewhere that it was an arrow, I could be wrong and just be misremembering.)
    Simple, he saw the Resistance, and realized that … they aren’t going anywhere, they’ll stay and fight against him even if it proves that they will all die in the end. This is when Decarabian decided to put down his defenses and allow the Resistance to succeed, their resilience in resisting flipped an inescapable failure into an acceptance of their wishes.
    Looking at the Inazuman Resistance, the Traveler was there to show Ei a better alternative to accepting their wishes. If the Traveler wasn’t there, the Resistance would’ve gotten to Tenshukaku and fought against the Raiden Shogun, and yes many of them would fall to her blade. However, we know that Ei didn’t start the Vision Hunt Decree out of a heartless pursuit of Eternity, she genuinely thought that she knew what was best for the people of Inazuma, and was willing to spill blood for it.
    Now, I understand that we’ll never know what exactly would’ve occurred if the Traveler wasn’t there, because thankfully they were. However I am certain that the Resistance would’ve ultimately succeeded in ending the Raiden Shogun, because after ending many of the Resistance Fighters lives, Ei would’ve seen that the Resistance wasn’t going to go anywhere until they’ve either all died, or until they’ve succeeded, so Ei would’ve put her accepted their wishes and ultimately put down her defenses.
    I’m certain that someone, very likely Kokomi would’ve ascended into Godhood to continue the Heavenly Principles rule over Inazuma, just like it did to Barbatos after Decarabian’s death.
    I know that this seems like a pointless thing to imagine over, because it just simply did not work out like that, but it does make you question the possibility of a darker ending if the Traveler wasn’t there.
    In Mondstadt, Dvalin would’ve been killed.
    In Liyue, Morax had to return to save his people from the Test they’ve failed.
    In Sumeru, Irminsul became so corrupted with Forbidden Knowledge, that Nahida was no longer the purest branch snapped off the tree.
    In Fontaine, Furina was never brought to court, Focalors was never executed, Neuvillette did not reclaim his authority, the people of Fontaine remained as Oceanid creations, and they all dissolved.
    And who knows what Natlan, Snezhnaya, Khaenri’ah, and the entirety of Teyvat is facing … but just imagining the alternative with the lack of the Traveler, we can only speculate what could’ve been. A darker, what could’ve been.
    We’ve seen the Traveler’s strength be tested again and again, and it’s repeatedly shown … not so promising signs, but they still remain very vital to Teyvat’s “Good Ending” nonetheless, whatever that Ending produces.

      I don't think it would be that simple - resistance was doomed either way. They could keep up fighting shogunate army only because Fatui were supplying them from the shadows. The moment in which best Doggo and Kokomi found out about "delusion market" they decided to cut ties with them, which have put Watatsumi island in very thight spot. Crux alone wouldn't be able to supply them and neither of two island they conquered could give them resources they needed. That unit at the finale were able to get that far only thanks to Ayato playing favor to his lil sis. If shogun would kill Dogo general and Kazuha there, resistance would be doomed even faster.

    • @AransJade
      @AransJade 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      Nope that's is opposite, resistance army were already corned and hardly win against Shogunate when the traveler hasn't arrived yet. Even in Kokomi story quest she thankful for the Traveler arrival and the Yashiro commission's Shuumatsuban in direct of giving the chance for the resistance to set foot in Tenshukaku, she said the resistance couldn't have achieve it without us and Yashiro intervene (little did she knows Yae and Sara are also indirectly helping her side). so let say if there's no traveler, never mind fighting the Shogun, even the resistance army would still be overwhelmed by fatui distributing delusion. and if they somehow managed to reach Tenshukaku by Ayato help without traveler exists, they can't stand a chance and will be swept off in a single blast just like what Paimon say they're no match for a combat-type god like the Shogun. don't underestimate Traveler's role, she/he is really important for the resistance side.

    • @TinkRomero
      @TinkRomero 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@AransJade that is true, I was a bit biased to my Resistance Victory Theory, but it is fair to recognize that the Raiden Shogun had much more stability, support, and power than Decarabian had. There is no telling what the Resistance’s ultimate fate would’ve been if the Traveler wasn’t there, they may have been all killed, or possibly went into hiding, or some other third thing, but ultimately they would’ve lost the fight and continue on to lose the war.
      The darker alternative to Inazuma was not the death of the Electro Archon (although, it still is a possibility, albeit much more significantly difficult to pull off), but rather the continuation and succession of the Eternity of Stillness.

    • @AransJade
      @AransJade 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@TinkRomero The Shogun's aberration occurred not only because how stubborn her pursued of eternity lest Inazuma be destroyed by heavenly principles but also how the Inazuman goverments' itself lack of mutual aid in helping the archon or together unite their forces before the fatui began spreading agendas a year ago. Referring to the three commissions, Yae and prolonged civil war with Watatsumi who still hold grudges over Orobashi's death even though they were the ones suddenly invaded Electro Archon's territory which made Fatui easily turn two fractions against each other. All messed up. Given that the Shogun capable to stop the flow of time in some durations, who knows, that'd be terrible if she absorb the omnipresent statue power and deploy it on a wide scale manifesting her stagnant ideology.

    I think that after killing a god, beside the possible initial destruction, nothing would happen. Thematically, in Genshin's lore power and authority slowly over time becomes divided among greater and greater number of entities. We started with 7 sovereigns having all power, then came gods (of which there always were more than 7) and now the era of humans - each new generation more numerous but also weaker on individual level. Neuvi is a sovereign but he is not a sole authority of Fontaine, he shares his power with humans. It seems the gods that did resist the power entropy perished and the ones that lived on take a conscious decision to step back, rather then be overthrown and killed.
    Celestia however remains a mystery but it seems they also follow the trend of stepping back, at least for now. The moment Celestia awakens and acts the Traveler and the Seven will turn against it and persumably topple it down. Again, transfering the power down the ladder.

    Something to notice.
    Even though the Hydro Throne was 'destroyed' the Hydro Visions did not fade. Childe's Vision had an anomaly in Fontaine. Suppose a divine throne like Pyro were to suddenly be destroyed with no Archon or successor, whether the Pyro Visions lose their power or not would be a confirmation to whether or not Celestia has control over Visions.

      To the people of Liyue, their god is already dead (Though the Qixing knows he isn't). Just as much as how the average Inazuman think that Baal is still currently ruling, but in reality she had long passed and replaced by the twin, Beelzebul. It just shows how little the common folk know about the archonhood system.
      I always find it weird how come Azhdaha tell that Zhongli had lost the Geo Archon title. But post Fontaine AQ, I just like to think that he instead 'sensed' the curse of misfortune from the Third Descender corpse inside the gnosis.

If the Primordial One/ Overseeing God of Teyvat dies, doe it all just cease to be? Considering they right the rules and shape the world itself. If the world isn't destroyed, does someone have to take up the torch?

    I have always seen it as sorta like avatar the last airbender. When an archon dies the mantle just moves into the next person who becomes archon
    Makato-Ei
    Greater lord-Nahida
    Egeria-foccallor
    Unless the cycle is broken like Foccallor gathering enough energy to shatter her throne authority that simply killing an archon is not enough to stop the cycle.
    -j assumed since Foccallor went to such lengths to destroy her throne and restore Neuvillette full hydro
    (Although since venti, Ei, Zhongli, and Nahida gave up their gnosis not sure if the cycle continues after their deaths)
    -possibly the cycle continues as the throne themselves still exist.

    Like 95% of the playable characters in the game are physically stronger than Nahida and could merc her with no difficulty. Even some characters without visions or delusions could do it. So yes, you COULD kill one of the seven. You probably wouldn’t want to though.
    Physically she’s one of the weakest characters in the game. Her “power” comes from being able to control an insane amount of elemental energy and access irminsul. She would still lose in a fight against almost anyone. Which is why she needs Wanderer to do the fighting for her after he essentially becomes her adopted bodyguard.

    i would say it depends on the archon itself, if the archon is an warrior an fighter there is no way the people can kill them, if the archon is not they can if they want too. for example
    in inazuma nowone can defeat the raiden shogun ever she is just too strong
    in liue the same there is no way anyone can beat zhongli ever he is just too strong
    in mondstadt i`am not shure how strong venti really is he can be this or this
    in sumeru nahida is not very stron so she can be defeated or killed
    in fontaine i see nowone that can kill neuvilette, focalors before him is another question
    in the other regions we don`t know yet.
    so overall i would say most of the archons are just too strong too be killed, they lived too long have too much experience and too much power even without there gnosis, ei and zhongli are special cases they are too much for everyone too take on. the other ones i think they could be killed if they don`t have there gnosis.

  • @cqwiii

    Its entirely possible that Celestial is Ok with or even wanted Neuvilette to regain his place as Sovereign. Given that they are able to see the past present and future enough to have made the original prophecy for Fontaine, they may have made it with the intention of this outcome.
    Consider that 6 of the 7 archon seats were awarded not specifically to the most powerful, but to the ones who loved humanity the most.
    Through his role as Iudex, and Focalors plan, he has come to have a strong compassion and love for humanity and is also a very fair arbiter like Zhongli. It even tied up the loose end of Celestia's initial issue of Egeria's "fake" humans in Fontaine, with a dragon sovereign making the decree that humans deserve to live and granting Fontainians full humanity.
    If Celestia was really big mad, they could have just asploded Fontaine back then and solved the issue that way.

      What we know for now from Nahida's quest is that they've been inactive for a long time after the cataclysm and they're only awakened in case of something groundbreaking or something not going according to them. From what we know you either have to destroy a gnosis to awaken the heavenly principles or if one of their prophecies gets destroyed and does not go according to them then they'll awaken. According to most Genshin lore theorists we're looking at 4 dimensions simultaneously like a semi Fate Multiverse with different iterations of Teyvat and Celestia looks at them from the perspective of time as well so unless something happens that catches their attention and awakens them from their slumber then they're not going to intercede in whatever is going on in "a Teyvat". Of course if the Celestia that used to rule inside the timeline is awakened then all these would probably be a lot more regulated under them according to their rules but that's the gist of it. It follows a different concept of time which is the block time of Chronos, Aion time which was theorized in ancient mythology to be the real iterations of today's tine

    I hope the Primordial One gets judged by Neuvillette, the dragons, the 7, the Fatui, and all the other major and smaller governmental/powerful parties in Celestia itself at the end. Like Genshin's own fictional Nuremburg Trials. It'd be crazy cool. Nahida literally brings up statistics on Phanes' potential crimes.

      @@xeiv1 For Sumeru, the history that was being recorded is being changed not the actual events. Even if Irminsul deletes Focalors or anyone else, the actual events that have happened will not change but just how they were written in history so I think you got this part wrong. But if it's the use of concept that makes it automatically bad for you then God of War, almost every iterations of Marvel and DC and half of Greek mythology come into question too because they also use this stuff. Irminsul is just a tree that records everything that happens in Teyvat and has the powers to alter the information but not the actual events like a time simulation thing which actually changes the event.
      I can agree with the Focalor creating Furina being BS but it's not really something out of the question because we have seen similar things happen and Oceanids are also capable of creating life forms so it's not so much of a suprise that it was given to it as it was? Practically everyone already knew about the Furina not being the Archon or atleast had doubts about her so I don't really know what you're getting at here.
