@@Josh-xc7qr A few reasons. Stricter (or just exisitng drug testing). Many, many other federations don't test or don't have nearly as high of a standard for drug testing, the IPF is under WADA. They also, overall, have a different standards or definitons of what 'raw' is, most other federations will allow knee wraps and much longer wrist wraps, if not elbow sleeves, in competition while the IPF only allows knee sleeves and wrist wraps under a certain length, and it all has to be on the approved equipment list, which pretty much only a few companies meet those requirements. Then, one that doesn't really matter 'as much' in the SHW weight class, is the IPF has different weight classes than most every other powerlifting federation. They used to match up. but the IPF restructured their weight classes in 2010, I think. Or, not to mention, the equipment used by athletes that's not on their body, IE bars, benches, racks, etc, have to be from an approved list of companies, and have to meet certain specifications. No deadlift specialty bars, no monolifts (gotta walk out the squats) ano wider benches, etc. Basically, otherwise, it'd be more like comparing apples to oranges.
@@zaone6395 I don't know of really any federations that allow straps. Wrist wraps? Yes. Straps, like in strongman? I mean, I think I remember the SPF doing or trying that a few years ago, and maybe the WRPF, but they purposely keep those records seperate and even make that clear. I think they even classify them as a sort of exehibition lift, similar to when the SPF tried a bench meet using the Slingshot.
Title should have been “heaviest deadlift in IPF history”. No where close to the heaviest deadlift in other organizations under different rules. No disrespect to this lifter.
If you train reverse grip, it's nearly as strong as straps. I can reverse grip WAY more than I can deadlift, the only reason I use straps is keep a traditional grip as I'm too used to using my right hand reversed, left feels uncomfortable, and I want similar strain across both arms and shoulders (right shoulder has old injuries).
I think I replied to the wrong comment, but TH-cam won't let me see my replies as usual, and deleting most for some reason after I replied on todays Trump assassination attempt. TH-cam shady as usual.
Yes, this is the heaviest in the IPF The differences are the ipf is drug tested, it doesn't allow straps, there is a stiff bar and it is done raw in this case, without the use of a deadlift suit. Hope this helps 🙌
Benedikt Magnússon holds the record for the heaviest raw deadlift ever done in conventional stance at 460.4 kg (1,015 lb), achieved in 2011. This record remains unbroken to date. Additionally, he also holds the record for the heaviest raw conventional deadlift ever performed within a full powerlifting competition at 442.5 kg (976 lb).
Using a deadlift bar, not a stiff bar like used in the IPF. In response to the above comment, this man is most likely on some sort of PEDs too. You don’t get natural men pulling 411kg on a stiff bar naturally.
Just remember 1) Tested does not mean clean. 2) The deadlift is not a forearm exercise. 3) This is a pretty middle of the pack weight in top strongman.
Oh and technically it kinda is a forearm exercise, since both the flexor digitorum profundis and the flexor pollicis longus are found in the forearm, and are the main muscles required for grip strength.
Before anyone else asks, the IPF keeps their records sepearte from every other fed, for a number of reasons.
Why
Strict drug testing, clean form, raw lifts and not using straps

still doesn't make it the heaviest deadlift of all time, lol

Georgia has one of the best powerlifters and Olympic weightlifters. This is absolutely no surprise.

His grip wasn't even the problem in the 420 Kg attempt. Crazy power off the floor
louis cyr is still the overall strongest freak. did a mini deadlift of 1897lbs.
Fun Fact :- IPF has dogs that sniff Performance enhancing drugs... So this man is Natural... 411 Natural Conventional deadlift is absolute madness.
u joking right ?
lol idk if that is even true but if it is there is no way the dogs can smell literally every single compound dude

Help me understand this and the Hall lift of 500 kg. Or the halfthore lift of 501kg. Is this just heaviest in IPF? What’s the distinction? Thanks.

Big difference between a deadlift bar vs a power bar, especially an eleiko bar. Thor and Hall used a deadlift bar or the Rogue elephant bar...
