Great video as always! My very first custom keyboard was an RK96 Limited Edition (I´m using it to type this) and I really love it. I think RK makes some very good quality boards, not the best out there, but good enough, specially if you mod them at least a little. Mine came with RK Yellow swithes and I swapted them out for KTT Kang Whites. Since it has a steel plate, all I did to it was one layer of the tape mod and polyfill on the bottom case. I wanted a ¨clackier¨ sound profile.
I´m thinking of getting the RK R65 now and I´m thinking of doing a foam-less build and just use the PET mod and polyfill to see what that sounds and feels like with a set of AKKO Cream Blue switches and YMDK shine through keycaps. I´m looking forward to seeing how you mod the R65! Saludos, pura vida!

is this a new version, or do the old ones have qmk now too? can't deny I still get excited about budget keyboards!

This is a new version, only ones with the reset button under the spacebar have the ability to upgrade to QMK.

My frugal existence has balked at those split set keycaps. They always seemed way too expensive per kit, and you need so many kits to get a full set. (It's like those part work magazines that used to appear every January.... First issue 99p, every other one 4.99, and only 200 parts to get the full set. Ends up more expensive than a Britanica.) Even the ones that aren't group buys or from Drop cost more than a full keyboard now. I know *some* are very good quality, and small production runs, but I fear many of them aren't.

Same, it's why I only get them when I can get deep discounts.

please I beg you. Please teach me in a video how to configure the QMK of the RK65. I don't think ANYONE is talking about it

I have ordered (5) RK65 QMK edition keyboards, every single one I received was not the QMK edition. Sorry.

You have to press the button that's underneath the space bar if there is no button under the space bar then it is not the QMK version.
