Hi Mel & Farmer Gary(meant in a very kind way). My Dad was a farmer he had a 100 acre farm where we raised all our own food. Beef, pigs, chickens and huge gardens where we canned everything for the winter months. I would suggest growing strawberries when you have a chance to clear some more space because I think I heard yrs ago that was a family favorite & one that brought great satisfaction to me. Sending Love 🙏🙏🙏Auntie Laura
❤ I enjoyed watching the show and I hope Gary back will continue to get continue to get better. Mel you have improved your green thumb. Garden area is doing good. Keep em coming.
Gary you should take the Big dead tree down in your back yard and leave the trunk high enough to attach a round table too on top and make a picnic table.
Garden and chickens look great!!!😊🎉❤ Hope you are continuing to feel better. For years I was an outside sales representative, which is similar to what you guys do on the daily😊 Then of course there were the trade shows and conventions, which magnified that tremendously. Those were my emotional binges. They would get me all jacked up, and then of course came the crash and/or the emotional hangover 😮😢 Please continue to be kind and gentle with yourselves😊
The one thing in wash. We have slugs. Blackones and banana slugs. Yellow. They can devour a garden. I read about a gardener in Seattle. She'd go to Star buck coffee..get their used grounds and put it around her garden. The slugs wouldn't cross it. The only thing is it gets moldy. Soi put it in my compost. The worms absolutely went wild! Never had so many worms. No more slugs. Used the compost in the garden.
Melanie your garden looks really nice. Hard to believe you're getting produce already. That's amazing. Gary that back looks nasty so get well soon. Your chickens are really growing. What, another month 'till meat camp? You guys slow the roll so you can get everything good. It's easy to get burnt out. Y'all work hard and deserve all things good life has to offer. God bless y'all.
Mel your garden looks fantastic 👍 Gary the wee chicks 🐥 are coming along nicely 👍 infact everything you both do is amazing 🥰 Gary here's a exercise that may help, they gave me after I had spine op, lie on floor on your tummy, arms by your sides, and gently raise your head and feet, gently lower and repeat a couple of times, it really helped strengthen my back, I done it every day, I was back at work in six weeks 😃 Have a wonderful day Mel, Gary and family ❤
The garden is looking great! Hope you get to feeling better real soon, Gary. You guys are making it happen day by day. Thank you for keeping in the know, even with all that's going on in your life's. God bless you all.
Gary yes it's always best to keep moving, back pain is awful. Those birds will soon be for the chop then l think it's the goats next?. Wishing all of you a good day.
I now know what I would call yall...yall are a power couple! You work awesome as a team and yall conquer tasks like masters! Also, yall research subjects before you start doing things!! Yall have a marriage (in my humble opinion) that'll last forever!
Get some comfrey Salve & DMSO. Put coconut oil on his skin where it’s bruised. Then dab the dmso over it. (It will burn a little, & make your skin look like hot lava was poured on it. Little blister & all) don’t panic. Put coconut oil over to cool. After a few hours put the comfrey over the bruise. He’ll be back to normal super fast.
Just thinking how to stop the weeds growing in the blocks. Perhaps get the kids to cut cardboard to fit in the squares. A lot faster if you have a paper guillotine. lol, may sound stupid but those weeds would drive me batty.
Great idea on the PVC pipe feeder. I use chicken nipples that way there is no standing water to clean out. Here is a video on making a waterer with nipples. th-cam.com/video/FG3YerZlK1o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HsI1COc0O9tseZHu
do the meat chickens need grit? just something i heard on another channel was that your not suppose to let those chickens have food continuously. feed on a schedule. Hope they turn out good for you

I can relate to back problems..... I have been going to my Chiropractor every week for the past month for my back problems. I am doing much better now.....
GARDEN TIP: A simple solution of Water, Dish Soap, and Neam Oil will get rid of 75% or more of your Bug problems. Very safe for you and your plants. And plant some Merigolds in those empty spots in your Cinder Blocks around the Garden, this will keep unwanted pest away from your Garden
Es bueno divertirse pero, cuidado con las caídas, cuando ya somos mayores los huesos quebrados tardan en sanar y causan problemas con el correr de los años.
I think you guys have got a dead tree. I’ve been watching it for a while it just doesn’t look like its leaves are coming out. It’s the one straight in front of the house in the yard.
Oh Gary, I hope and pray for you to get well. I can see the bruises. Oh dang, next time, I have your wife and your friend to help you. Don't do it alone.
My job was to feed the chickens. There was some that were very stupid (no other way to say it) and some were mean and others that were smart. I use to were my Dad's rubber boots because my legs used to get so pecked at. LOL But we did have the best chicken dinners.

When you first go in to feed put a little scattered on the ground that will give you a chance to fill the trouh with less birds in your way.

Thank you for taking greens to the chickens - they need it - as much to mitigate boredom as for nuttrition.

1:59 next year tie some padding on your back so it hits the padding instead. I’m picturing something with pool noodles.
I hope your back feels better soon
Save your cardboard boxes for your next project to eliminate the unwanted growth. Lots of you tube on it. It works and it works well.
