I can back to the church after 25 years. Still fought with addiction and felt I could never get totally clean. I asked Jesus for his help and decided to do my part and read the Book of Mormon every time I felt an urge. Kicked my addiction with ease and was totally blown away. I could never have done that without him and the church.

I was never a part of the church but two sisters found me setting on my tailgate drinking. (My addiction) short story is, I started meeting with them. Started reading the book of mormon and was able to quit my addiction. That started about 4 weeks ago, getting baptized this weekend!

Wow the honestly and vulnerability. That has sincerely been one of my missions too. I left the church and came back after 9 yrs of inactivity. I delved into drinking and sexual addictions more than drugs, but the repentance process was the same. For 7 years, through 2022 I was our ward's gospel doctrine teacher and for the last 1.3 yrs, I have been facilitating "Teaching in the Savior's Way" in our ward with my husband. I have felt incredibly inspired the past 3 years or so to find ways to inspire people to share and be vulnerable. When we are struggling or have gone through struggles in our life, we bring strong testimony to the principles of the gospel when we come out on the other side. Or, if we're in the struggle, if we share, open up, be vulnerable, we can pull helpful advice and endearment from someone else in our faith community. Anyway, I'm rambling...I just feel strongly that unless we open up and become vulnerable and HONEST, He can't dwell with us as a people and he won't return to us. We must be one, as He and His Father are one. We have a long way to go.
But with young people like you sharing and facilitating...we just might get there!

@@brettpinion4233 Have you ever asked yourself why there's over 17 million followers in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Why Latter-day Saints are worldwide? You ever ask yourself why you are the only one that thinks other people are following the wrong God? Maybe you need to go look in the mirror , either that or start your own Church, this way you can follow your God and run it any way you deserve , people do that all the time. This is the reason why people get a bad taste of religion because some Hojo is going to run his own church . Sure there are people leaving all of the churches so what, some people decide to enjoy the things of the world and what it has to offer, there is an appetite for sin. When you dying, that is end-of-the-world activity. This world will end before you know it. Everyone has a choice. It is a strange thing what the mind can do every day or week. The mind can only think and then you have to make up your mind what you are going to do everyday. If you want to go your own way or follow the Lord😊 it all depends which face you want to put on that day😊😖😫😭😞😳👍

@@brettpinion4233 there's not even a definitive doctrine on "one of an endless number of Gods," in Mormon theology we literally know NOTHING about the afterlife beyond simply obtaining the celestial kingdom. Even that is simply just meaning we are sealed by the priesthood to our spouse and families for eternity and live in the presence of God, and believe all people will have the chance to choose to make those covenants with God and accept/deny it.
Also, we strongly believe Heavenly Father and Christ are THE GODS above ALL OTHER GODS if they are to exist. We are not saying "they are just some of a bajillion other Gods." God is THE GOD. Christ is THE CHRIST. We don't claim to think or even have a solidified doctrine on this beyond speculation as it's not spoken in our scripture and not a saving point of doctrine. And don't reference some quote from the King Follet discourse of journal of discourses, as those are 1 time instances of different prophets speculating on theology beyond what we need to achieve salvation and exaltation. We don't have consistent, year over year doctrine on that subject nor is it taught in our scripture in detail.
P.S BoM evidence is gaining traction, as from middle and ancient America we have less than 1% of land and history archived/explored and much could come forth about evidences for it. It's like discovering Texas and saying the rest of the US must not have mountains.

I post it hear because I love people and want them to know the Jesus of the bible who is the TRUTH, the way and the life.
Giant problem with Mormonism is that it is not faith based on reason or even blind faith.
It is faith in a DIFFERENT Jesus contained in a book that archaeological, anthropological, topological, linguistic, and dna evidence point to it's falsity. It is faith AGAINST the evidence usually based on feelings.
Manipulation of emotions is a tactic used to get people to believe in untruths. Does the mormon church use any of these?
      Little to no financial transparency
Critical thinking and rational analysis are rejected in favor of feelings or group view
Discouraged or punished from reading non-church published / approved material; information tightly controlled
Questioning, scrutiny, doubt and dissent are discouraged or punished
Any questioning is an issue with the person, not the church. Worthiness and faith are questioned while evidence ignored
Sayings / mantras repeated over and over (e.g. testimony meeting and five points of an LDS testimony)
Modern-day revelation; Claim to have restored “lost truths” and doctrines
Claim new revelation always trumps old revelation
Demand absolute obedience to church authorities
Members taught not to associate with apostates; they are led by Satan
All money, time and talents are at the disposal of the church leaders
Abnormal amounts of time required to be devoted to the church and related activities
Zealous to proselytize (not evangelize) new members
Eternal life in heaven earned by a faith plus [works, morality and obedience] gospel.
Leader(s) dictate how members should act, think, feel and what they eat, drink, read, and wear
Members taught to strive for perfection as an achievable goal
Church demands purity of members or blessings withheld / revoked
Loyalty displaced from Jesus to the church and its leadership. Claim loyalty to church / leader(s) is the same as loyalty to God
Personal worthiness / faithfulness tied to loyalty and commitment
Claim the Bible is corrupted and produce their own Bible or books superior to the Bible
Suppress, hide, or lie about doctrines and history in order to control information flowing to members
Use pyramid-style doctrines (e.g. milk vs. meat and line upon line, precept upon precept)
Claim all material critical of the church is a "lie" or "out of context" or "anti-[insert church name here]"
Claim exclusivity in being the “only true church” on the face of the earth (Elitist mentality)
Claim eternal life in heaven is impossible outside their church
Claim leadership is not fallible, yet they are unaccountable
Claim religious persecution proves they are the true church. Impose us vs. them mentality
Apostates leave the church because they "want to sin," are "weak," "lost" and "are being lead by Satan"
Sins are not forgiven without absolute obedience to authority
Impose fear, shame and guilt to coerce members into conforming to the rules of the church
Leadership imparts phobia indoctrination (fear) by teaching if their church is not true, then there is not a true church
Leadership imparts phobia indoctrination (fear) by claiming there is no happiness outside church
Leadership imparts phobia indoctrination (fear, guilt, shame) claiming you will loose family for eternity if you leave the church
New members are "love-bombed" by other members and leaders and made to feel they are special and favored by God
Ex-members shunned and teach those who leave will have bad things happen to them
Demand major financial commitments. Greater blessings, spirituality, or higher levels of heaven promised. "Giving to get" result from demands
Some to all of these characteristics are found in many churches today including:
      - Jehovah’s Witnesses
      - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
      - Oneness Pentecostal
      - The Church of Scientology
      - House of Yahweh
      - The Philadelphia Church of God
      - International Church of Christ
      - Iglesia ni Cristo

I'm so sorry that you lost your spouse to cancer. I can't imagine the sadness and grief you experienced. I'm sorry that you felt abandoned during a time of need. I have been on the side of not knowing what to do or say when someone has experienced loss ... which could have come off as not caring. I imagine you have so much to offer the people in your congregation - an awareness of others in need and an understanding of their pain, even if not the same pain. I hope you can return to church! 💛

      - Iglesia ni Cristo

,...I have spoken the truth for your edification. And sadly, like all those bound for the lake of fire, you reject this truth and go right back to your wallowing in the mire.
"But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." 2 Peter 2:22 KJV
The fact is, more than 90% of the worlds population is going to be cast into the lake of fire, and 100% of those snared into the 100% fake manmade abomination of mormonism. God has already given you examples of this which you and everyone else ignores. How many people were saved when God destroyed the world with the flood? How many were saved when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah?
It is going to be exactly the same when Jesus returns on judgement day. Well over 90% of the worlds population are going into the lake of fire. And again, 100% of mormons.
      Luke Ch 17,
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27, "They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
      28, Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29, But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30, Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed."
Of course no actual Christian would ever laugh at those who God has chosen to destroy. Nowhere did I state anything about laughing at the evil Godless people that will be cast into the lake of fire.
The fact is, all you mormons are just vessels of wrath and brute beasts made to be destroyed. Please read the book of Jude, it is speaking directory of/to the mormons. Repent!
"But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;" 2 Peter 2:12 KJV
"But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves." Jude 1:10 KJV
"What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:" Romans 9:22 KJV

I'm truly sorry to hear about your negative experiences, especially after you've made such a sincere commitment to explore the faith. No one should feel ignored or mistreated, and my heart hurts for the pain you're going through. In the scriptures, there are instances where people faced challenges and disappointments, even feeling forsaken by God, yet their experiences ultimately strengthened their relationship with Him.
Job in the Old Testament is one such example. He lost everything-his health, wealth, and family-but never lost his faith. In the end, he was blessed abundantly, both materially and spiritually. His trials deepened his understanding and relationship with God.
Joseph Smith also felt abandoned during his imprisonment in Liberty Jail. He questioned why God had allowed such suffering, but he later received revelation that his trials would give him experience and be for his good.
Paul in the New Testament faced numerous setbacks, including imprisonment and shipwreck, but his trials only strengthened his resolve to spread the gospel and deepened his understanding of Christ's grace.
It's painful to feel let down by people or even by God. If you're open to it, prayer, scripture study, and counsel with church leaders could provide some spiritual guidance during this difficult time. You're in our prayers.

Prolonged eye contact with dilated pupils was one, sat next to me every single time in church and at my baptism and another baptism I attended before mine. Gave me compliments on my church attire, first bumps and handshakes. I counted at least 8. So I thought there was a pretty good chance she was into me. So I waited till she got home to reach out. I respected her space as my ward was her first stop out of the mtc. So while she was serving I looked around and not having any dating success whatsoever, I reached out to her on face book 14 months later. Never responded to me not even to say thank you when I wished her happy thanksgiving. I then backed off and gave her space. After 3 months of nothing, I realized she’s never going to reach out. I sent one more last message listing everything I used to come to the conclusion that I thought she was into me, it was rude and disrespectful to just ghost me, and stood firm on my position that I read her body language right. And I expected her to at minimum gracefully reject me instead of ghosting me. She then blocked me on Facebook. It seems I’m dealing with two completely different people from her being a missionary and now she’s home. I did email her few months before she went home and she replied. Now it’s like she discarded me like trash. It has left me angry, confused, depressed, I can attend church because of the betrayal I feel. It’s been nearly a year now and the pain is still front and center. God knew my greatest weakness was getting anyone of the opposite gender to notice me, and to have a missionary act like they were interested in me only to completely ignore me like every other woman has done to me is where the most pain is. "It is by grace that we have power to do these things" Jacob 4: 7

Works are part of it though. The Bible says we are saved by grace through faith. It also says faith without works is dead. So we can't be saved by dead faith and therefore keeping the commandments and living a righteous life is an important part of salvation. After all, an addict can't overcome their addictions by doing nothing. We have to DO something. Evidence showing the Bible is true and the Book of Mormon is a 19th century fiction below:
No wheat, no goats, no steel found in the Americas, no metal smelting furnaces, no metal armor, no temple as grand as Solomon's as described in 2 Nephi 5:16, no steel swords, no skeletons of these warriors, no graves, no cities (it would be impossible for a city the size of Zarahemla 4 Nephi 1:8 to leave no trace), no cattle, no chariot parts, no Nephite coins (listed in book of Alma as being used for a thousand years), no Jewish relics from supposed Jews, no metal plates like Nephites supposedly had, no artifacts whatsoever, no Nephite "reformed Egyptian" writings, no old world large seed barley (BoM claims that the Lehites brought their old world seeds with them) and no evidence the book of Mormon "prophets" ever existed.
There is zero archaeological, anthropological, topological, linguistic, or DNA evidence to support the Book of Mormon. It would be impossible for highly advanced civilizations (Jaredites, Nephites) with millions of people to have vanished off the face of the earth. The whole face of the land had become covered with buildings” (Mormon 1:7) “Two million Jaredites slain” (Ether 15:2) 38 cities are catalogued in the Book of Mormon, along with iron, steel, brass, metal swords, breast-plates, shields, armor, or chariots. Yet, not one item mentioned in the Book of Mormon has ever been discovered in America.
The Book of Mormon speaks of sheep, swine, goats, wheat, silk and wool clothing and elephants existing in the Americas when they did not. 1 Ne. 13:7; Alma 4:6; Ether 9:17 and 10:24 Though they were brought to America centuries later by Europeans in post-Columbian times. Again we see that Joseph Smith was thinking about things in his current day as he was fabricating the Book of Mormon.
CAN WE TRUST OUR HEARTS AS TO THE TRUTH OF THE BOOK OF MORMON since there is no evidence?
Maroni chapter 10:4 says: "he will manifest the truth of it unto you" But: THE BIBLE WARNS YOU about trusting your own heart. Jeremiah 17:9 "the heart is deceitful above all things". Proverbs 28:26 "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool." Please don't be a fool.
The entire belief system and premise of Mormonism is based on a false claim the Bible was corrupted and "plain and precious parts" were removed by early Christian translators sometime after the apostles had all died. This is a very dangerous claim to make against the word of God, especially since God promised us his word would never pass away. (Isaiah 40:8; Psalms 100:5; Matthew 16:18, 24:35; 1 Peter 1:23-25).
An Objective Test of the Bible and Book of Mormon
The Claim: In the Book of Mormon, the prophet Nephi has a vision the Bible was corrupted after the 12 apostles preached it and after the formation of the “great and abominable church” (1 Nephi 13:26-29). Most Mormons believe this to be the Catholic Church which was formed early in the 4th century. Nephi claims this church was founded by the Devil to lead souls to hell (1 Nephi 14:3). So let’s objectively examine both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be fair and test if any have errors.
Bible: The earliest Dead Sea Scrolls have been historically dated by three different dating techniques to as early as 350 BC. Included in this discovery was the Great Isaiah Scroll, which is the oldest known complete copy of the Book of Isaiah and is dated to approximately 200 BC. Study the dead sea scrolls which are over 2,000 years old and see if they have Joseph Smith's uncorrupted version. They should if Joseph Smith was correct and the bible had been corrupted over time but, no they do not.
They are the same today as they were over 2,100 years ago with only minor spelling or punctuation differences. Joseph Smith was wrong. The bible had not been corrupted. This scroll could not have been touched by the Catholics. Also this scroll is a Jewish production, and the Book of Mormon claims that the Jews had the Scriptures in their "purity".
LDS Apologist Wayne Ham was forced to the conclusion that the Isaiah scroll does not support the text in the Book of Mormon. Mormon apologist Dr. Sidney B. Sperry, of Brigham Young University, had to admit that the Dead Sea Scrolls do not help the case for the Book of Mormon but uphold the validity of the bible.
IS THE GOD OF THE BOOK OF MORMON THE SAME ONE AS IN THE BIBLE?
"Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.” (Isaiah 43:10) If Mormonism is true, then God could not make the claim that there were no gods before him, for he was just a man at one point; nor could he claim that no gods would come after him, for that is the goal of every member of the LDS church. Like Joseph Smith this was also the goal of Satan, to be like God and have worshippers. "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God ... I will be like the Most High”’ (Isaiah 14:12-14)
The new testament has not been corrupted either. Take for example John 1:1 a very important verse than Smith changed to make Jesus a created being. A papyri known as the Bodmer Papyri which is almost 1900 years old of the book large parts of John. (this papyri was written not long after the apostle John died)
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
John 1:1 Joseph Smith translation: "In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God." See the obvious blasphemous changes. Also, there are 4,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament in whole or in part. The best of these go back to somewhere about AD 350 and none support Joseph Smith's claims that the bible of today has been corrupted.
Considerable fragments remain of papyrus copies of books of the New Testament dated from 100 to 200 years earlier still and show that the new testament we have is reliable. (The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable? Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1967 (Leicester: Inter-Varsity Press, 1960) pp. 15-17
In the LDS Church’s 147th General Conference, General Authority Bernard P. Brockbank stated that the Christ followed by the Mormons is not the Christ followed by traditional Christianity. He explains: It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons…. (The Ensign, May 1977, p. 26)
I post this in love. The manuscript and archeological evidence for the bible is the greatest of anything in antiquity. I pray that you know the real Jesus, real peace, love and true salvation. "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1 And, Matthew 24:24 warns us that Satan will send false prophets and Satan poses as an angel of light! 2 Corinthians 11:14
There is no way for the Biblical account of Jesus to arrive at the account of the Book of Mormon. Mormons have been taught that the bible was corrupted. I hope to open eyes that God is much greater than the humanoid that you have been told about. He is the creator of all creation not just this solar system. Jesus said all scripture shall not fade away but "many wolves in sheep's clothing" and false prophets will come and try to add to the word. Mathew 7:15
It pains my heart to see Mormons fall for the lie that Satan first told Adam and Eve that we can be like the most high. Genesis 3:3-5 Joseph Smith sold the same lie.
Also, the leaders of the LDS Church have taught that their Jesus was married, had children, and was even a polygamist. Apostle Orson Pratt, says in The Seer, page 172, says, “…the great Messiah who was the founder of the Christian religion was a Polygamist…the Messiah chose to take upon himself his seed; and by marrying many honorable wives himself, … The son followed the example of his Father"

First of all, it's important to note that many religious texts, including the Bible, contain elements that have not been verified by archaeology or science. For example, we haven't found Noah's Ark, but that doesn't necessarily negate the spiritual truths taught in the Biblical narrative.
Lack of Archaeological Evidence: You mentioned that no wheat, goats, steel, etc., have been found in the Americas to support the Book of Mormon. However, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. There are many archaeological mysteries yet to be solved worldwide. The same can be said for Biblical locations or events that are not archaeologically verified.
DNA and Linguistics: While it's true that DNA and linguistic evidence haven't definitively supported the Book of Mormon, neither have they definitively disproved it. There are complexities and gaps in our knowledge. The DNA of modern Native Americans doesn't negate the possibility of other groups existing that didn't leave a genetic footprint.
Trust in the Heart: You mentioned that the Bible warns against trusting your heart, and then contrast this with Moroni 10:4. But the two aren't mutually exclusive. The idea in the LDS faith is to obtain spiritual confirmation, which can be in line with logical reasoning. It's not an either-or; it's a both-and.
Biblical Inerrancy: You claim that the Bible hasn't been corrupted, pointing to ancient scrolls. However, even mainstream Christian scholars recognize that the Bible has been subjected to various translations and interpretations. The LDS perspective is not that the Bible is worthless, but that certain plain and precious truths were lost, necessitating additional revelation.
Dead Sea Scrolls: The fact that an ancient manuscript supports the modern Bible doesn't necessarily prove that other scriptures can't also be true. The two can coexist.
Is the LDS God the same as the Biblical God?: The fundamental question is what is the nature of God? The LDS view may differ from mainstream Christianity, but it's rooted in the idea that God's children can partake in His divine nature. This isn't hubris; it's the ultimate expression of a loving God wanting His children to grow.
The Nature of God: Lastly, saying that God in the LDS faith is "just a humanoid" oversimplifies and misrepresents LDS theology. The nature of God is a complex issue in any faith, and it's unfair to trivialize it down to talking points.
While you've presented a lot of points, many of them involve complex issues that are not as black and white as they're being portrayed. The LDS faith, like other religious traditions, combines elements of faith, tradition, and interpretation to provide a spiritual framework for its believers.

YAWN..........Same old arguments majority of which already proven false. I could make just as many arguments against God and Christianity itself. You should focus your efforts on something productive. I would bet money you spend your time searching TH-cam for videos like this and then post your cut and pasted comments. It is just sad you spend your time and effort to dissuade others faith. God Bless!!!

@@do2423 So what do you believe in?
The arguments are not false. If they are answer the accusations. May the God of the bible bless you. Please consider:
The Jesus of the bible is not the Jesus of the book of Mormon.
Mormonism is different - it teaches a different Jesus than the Bible which Smith falsely said was corrupted. Mormonism is more like Islam where another false prophet (Muhammad) came along and said the bible was corrupted and he had his new revelations fixing it - the Quran.
Mormonism teaches their church is the only true church on the face of the earth. Their doctrine teaches all other churches are an "abomination" and are "of the devil."
Joseph Smith History 1:18-19: "My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. ... I was answered that I must join NONE of them, for they were ALL WRONG; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an ABOMINATION in his sight; that those professors were ALL corrupt..."
1 Nephi 14:10 “And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the DEVIL; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the WHORE of all the earth." (emphasis added)
The Bible states many times in various ways Jesus would never let the gates of hell prevail over his church leading to a total apostasy (Isaiah 40:8; Psalms 100:5; Matthew 16:18, 24:35; 1 Peter 1:23-25).
How could this statement be true if Jesus’ Church ceased to exist for almost two millennia? So any church who claims the Church needed to be restored from an apostasy is not a part of the first Church which started long ago in Jerusalem at Pentecost.
Given the Mormon church claims a complete apostasy, it cannot be traced back to the original church.
Jesus said in Matthew 18:16 upon this rock He will build his church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. The rock is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 10:4; Romans 9:33; Psalm 18:2; 62:6-8, 78:35, 94:22; 2 Samuel 22:2) and if the church ever fell into complete apostasy as Mormons claim, then Jesus would have been made a liar.
In Galatians Paul exhorts our dependence on the word of God instead of founders of movements with additional or restored “truths.” Paul warns not once but twice in Galatians 1:8-9, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
Again, the gospel declares truth should not be determined by teaching from angels or even Paul, but based on whether the gospel being preached is the same gospel that was received (as recorded in the Bible).
The Church is the body of believers in Christ and we are likened to a temple in 1 Peter 2:5 “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
This means people do not need to be members of a particular church, denomination, or group, but need to be born again and repent and accept the free gift of salvation in Christ.
Mormons believe in a Christ DIFFERENT than the one in the bible:
President Hinckley of the Mormon religion declared: In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ.’ ‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.(LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7)
Apostle Bruce McConkie "we worship the Father and Him only, and no one else." We do not worship the Son and we do not worship the Holy Ghost." 1989 Sermons and Writings of Bruce R. McConkie, 60
Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, on page 742 of Mormon Doctrine, says, “God the Father is a perfected, glorified, holy Man, an immortal Personage. And Christ was born into the world as the literal Son of this Holy Being; he was born in the same personal, real, and literal sense that any mortal son is born to a mortal father. There is nothing figurative about this paternity; he was BEGOTTEN, CONCEIVED and born in the normal and natural course of events, for he is the Son of God, and that designation means what it says.”
Yet, 2 Corinthians 11:4 says it is possible to believe in a false version of Jesus.
At the moment, the Mormon Jesus is eternally progressing, moving up to greater levels of exaltation, along with all the other gods in the universe.
But this is not the case with the Jesus of the Bible. The Bible tells us that: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. (Hebrews 13:8).
If there really are other gods before and after Jesus who are also eternally progressing, then Jesus cannot be the sovereign or supreme ruler over all existence.
Contrary to this, the Bible tells us that Jesus (and for that matter, the Triune God) is all-powerful (Philippians 3:20-21), all-knowing (John 21:17), and all-present (Matthew 28:20).
Apostle O. Pratt: , “…The fleshly body of Jesus required a Mother as well as a Father. Therefore, the Father and Mother of Jesus, according to the flesh, must have been associated together in the capacity of Husband and Wife; hence the Virgin Mary must have been, for the time being, the lawful wife of God the Father. Inasmuch as God was the first HUSBAND TO HER (Mary), it may be that He only gave her to be the wife of Joseph while in this mortal state, and that He intended after the resurrection to again take her as one of his own wives to raise up immortal spirits in eternity….”
The leaders of the LDS Church have also taught that their Jesus was married and had children, and that he was even a polygamist. Again, Apostle Orson Pratt, says in The Seer, page 172, says, “…the great Messiah who was the founder of the Christian religion was a Polygamist…the Messiah chose to take upon himself his seed; and by marrying many honorable wives himself"
The true church will never add to or subtract from, but always hold firm in the essential doctrines of Christianity. These being: The deity of Christ (both God and Man); Salvation (eternal life with God) by grace alone through faith alone; the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ; there is only one God (period); and the trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) are three separate persons in one Being.
