Thank you for everything, President Hrabowski. I did both undergraduate and graduate school at UMBC because of my love for the school. Always grateful for your impact and leadership.
I was at UMBC from 2008-2012, and I can truly say it is an honor to say I was a student under Dr. Hrabowski's leadership. Long live Dr. Hrabowski in body and spirit
Thank you Dr. Hrabowski for enlightening me on my journey at umbc, congratulations and the campus is still a beautiful place to be a part of..... Job Well Done 👏🏾
So sad to hear of your retirement, but it is well-deserved. You are a great President and a great inspiring human being. Thank you so much for your service, President Hrabowski.
President Hrabowski I’m alumni from the UMBC Class of 1991. I did not have the honor of meeting you during my undergraduate studies. But throughout my career in Health care Administration I’ve attended several meetings with you as the Speaker. I’ve seen the progress of UMBC under your leadership and it is amazing. The campus growth and development is awesome. I’m so proud to be a graduate from UMBC. And I stare Job Well Done Sir. Congratulations on your retirement enjoy each day. You deserve the best! Take care stay healthy. See you in your next phase of life in another great position.
Thank you, sir! I so respect the fact that you never used UMBC as a stepping stone to a "bigger, better" university. You and the amazing people you surrounded yourself with for three decades made UMBC a bigger, better university. As an alum, I've always recognized & appreciated your love for my alma mater. Follow your bliss now, but please stay active in retirement. You're very much needed.
Congratulations, Dr. Hrabowski! I remember when you became the Pres of UMBC. I was young then, lol, but saw great hope and potential for UMBC. You have proven me right, and that I love! Although, I am saddened by your departure, as you are the reason I chose to attend UMBC to acquire my Grad degree, as a seasoned student; I wish you much happiness and continued life in your well-deserved retirement. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Freeman, thank you for 3 decades of leadership and service to our university. I can't remember the number of times that we ran into each other at airports as you were visiting other colleges, sharing about UMBC. Sometimes, I would hear, "Love that hat!", for black and gold alumni cap that I wore almost every time I flew, and I knew Freeman was on the road spreading the word about the goodness that is UMBC. Good Luck for the future. Thank you, again!
A leader that I've had the greatest pleasure working with and learning from over the past decade. He will be missed and these shoes to be filled are immense.
He definitely set the tone and inspires so many. One of the greatest stories I share with others about how much a person can impact another is one common to many others on UMBC campus: He would stop and actually talk to the students on the campus as he walked through it. Not to show off to board members or donors, just him walking on his own through the campus. And the shock is that when he did see you again, he would remember your name. It shocked me to experience that as a freshman and a sophomore. He will be missed and is definitely a leader to be proud of for UMBC and all alumni.
Congratulations on your retirement and for your trailblazing tenure at UMBC!! You have been a stalwart and visionary leader. Your mark will be seen and felt for generations to come. Thank you for all you have done.
WOW! We all know this day must eventually come, but you are still never prepared when it arrives. Dr. Hrabowski is one of the reasons I sent my son to UMBC and helped sway my decision to obtain my graduate degree from UMBC. Most cannot appreciate how rare it is for a university president to lead for 1 decade, let alone 2 and astonishingly 3. In that time UMBC has risen in stature, respect, its physical landscape and the quality of its academics. I am one of many who have been completely inspired by Freeman and I will always, always be grateful for your engagement and commitment. Wishing you a grand retirement! Emery Rudolph Sr. - 2011
I am truly grateful for being a student at UMBC during President Hrabowski's tenure. I attended from 1991-1995 in the early days of his presidency and he was a force even then. UMBC is better because of him. May he finally be able to rest and know he has done a magnificent job, creating a lasting legacy.
All the best Dr. Hrabowski. Your legacy will continue to be felt generations to come. You have been an exemplary leader and we thank you for making UMBC an amazing University, the numbers enrolling every year is a testament that UMBC is the place to be. Thanks for the hard work and commitment to excellence over the years. Congratulations on 30 years plus. WOW! #Proudalumni.Class of 2004.

Thank you so much for your leadership at UMBC. You have been an inspiration to faculty and students alike, as well as the broader community outside of UMBC. Thank you for helping to make UMBC the amazing place that it is. You will be sorely missed.
