    I'm so grateful someone put this up. The only Shul I've ever been to is downtown and I can't take the subway so I listened to this after Modeh Ani and netilat yadayim. I bought my first washing vessel and I'm happy to be living this way now and increasing my study of Tanakh and Talmud. Shalom.

The time is near. I can see the multitude from all the nations of the world returning by the path created by our Father for us to walk through to our land and our Temple. B"H Thank you

      Shalom! Converter-se ao judaísmo vai muito além disso... tu precisas conhecer a história dos judeus e de outros povos, estudar a Tora, o hebraico, aprender e adquirir os hábitos religiosos e alimentares, não pq te disseram para fazer, mas sim pq VC estudou e entendeu o motivo desses hábitos e por consequência você os adquiri. São alguns anos de estudo. Judaísmo não é apenas uma religião, há um modo de vida nele, com muita dedicação e comprometimento.
      Não é algo que você admira, entra e resolve frequentar. Estude mais afundo sobre a história e procure um rabino para lhe orientar. Shavua tov!

    Is this Nusach Ashkenazi as in German as opposed to Nusach Sefard?

    • @ezrahoerster4874
      @ezrahoerster4874 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is in fact nusach ashkenaz, however it is the nusach ashkenaz that is used in eretz yisroel which has some aspects that resemble nusach sfard. it is definitely not the german nusach though
      i at first thought it was nusach sfard because the "b'fi yeshorim" part was like n''s, as well as yishtabach and shmoneh esrei - but then when the kedushah started i knew right away it was nusach ashkenaz from e''y.

    • @ezrahoerster4874
      @ezrahoerster4874 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joël Boosman the ashkenazi nusach of eretz yisroel is based on the nusach of the GRA. see my previous comment

    • @jwhippet8313
      @jwhippet8313 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know it's years late, but the Nusach of Germany is different than the Nusach that's called Nusach Ashkenaz in siddurim sold in stores.
      Siddurs labeled nusach ashkenaz are usually variants of nusach polin, nusach lita, or nusach hagra.
      Actual Nusach Ashkenaz siddurim aren't printed commercially. You have to buy them from small, private printers.

    • @marcvcivsnoveboracensis
      @marcvcivsnoveboracensis 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jwhippet8313 This is very helpful; thank you. Are you aware of any recordings of the German Nusach? Has that tradition almost entirely died out? I know there is a Yekkishe shul in Upper Manhattan in New York that may still use the German Nusach, but other than that, I'm not aware of any other German shuls where the Nusach may still be in use.

    • @jwhippet8313
      @jwhippet8313 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marcvcivsnoveboracensis , the largest German schul in the US is Breuer's, KAJ. It uses the German tunes, but alters the Siddur from the German one a bit, particularly at holidays and it uses the long Aleinu. I don't know if they'll stop people from saying kadish as a group.
      The first is done bc they felt the need to add yizkor to holidays bc people show up just to say yizkor.
      There's a KAJ in Monsey, too. And little German minyanim around.
      There's also the entire nation of Holland. They keep their Nusach and pronunciations.
      Unfortunately, most of their rabbis are foreignors and can't tell the difference between authentic Western customs (not wearing a yarmulke except at prayer and meals) and impieties (believing the dikes are an automatic eruv). So they educate people out of the customs of the geonim and rishonim.
      There's a german siddur called Tefiloh Sefas Yisroel available on Amazon.
      As to tunes, there's a man who recorded many many tunes. They're available at Machon Moreshes Ashkenaz website. Just google that name.
