- A&Z #733 - Atlas vs the famous 72oz Steak Challenge at Sayler's Old Country Kitchen in Portland, Oregon. On June 5, 2019, I began my 2019 Summer Adventures and stop #1 was the Seattle, Washington area!! I attempted 4 delicious food challenges around Seattle and Bellingham, Washington, and 1 in Portland, Oregon. For challenge #4, I attempted the famous 72oz Steak Challenge at Sayler's Old Country Kitchen in beautiful Portland, Oregon. My friend Max Carnage with the @bigeatersclub and I each had 1 hour to finish Sayler's famous 72oz Steak Challenge served with sides and some cheesecake ice cream for dessert. Thanks to everyone at Sayler's for the wonderful hospitality and to everyone who came up to watch and meet us that afternoon!! We appreciate all our friends around Portland, Oregon supporting our efforts!!

Sayler's Famous 72oz Steak Challenge ($70):
- 72 ounce steak (topped with onion rings).
- 10 French fries or a baked potato.
- Regular sized salad or side of coleslaw.
- Ice cream or sherbert + slice of French bread.
- 2 olives, 2 slices of celery, 2 carrots, & 2 pickles.
- One drink - anything other than water.
- There is a 1 hour time limit to finish the 72 oz steak.
- All sides/beverages/desserts are mandatory but don’t have to be finished within the hour.
- All edible parts of the steak must be eaten in order to win the challenge.
- Winners receive the meal free (limit 1 free meal per lifetime) and a sweet t-shirt!!

One of my favorite things about your channel in particular. You may not be the fastest but it's your style.
You eat like a kid who just enjoys food BUT their mom is watching them the entire time at the table so they can't make a mess. You'll plow down 6 pounds of food like you are just eating a normal meal.

Randy I know people say this alot, but watching these videos are so enjoyable. Especially the way you eat is to be made an example off. No swallowing pieces whole, keeping it clean not to mention you dont dunk. Wish I could like this 200x.

What I've always appreciated about Randy is his clean eating. Hes fast, but not crazy messy, and easy to watch. Great job, man!

This video is a great example of one of my favorite things about Randy: he’s such a neat eater. His manners are so good you could invite him to do a food challenge at your grandma’s house. He keeps his face and hands relatively clean, and doesn’t send food flying. So thank you for showing you can be a competitive eater without being a slob!

I've always enjoyed of Randy's challenges that he has manners. It's rare to see a food challenge person to eat like people, they usually make a mess.

For a man with 730+ wins (and more to come of course) in food challenges it wouldn't be hard for Randy to beat a big number of eaters in terms of time taken to complete the challenge but more importantly he sticks to his table manners and eats clean, cleaner than some people who aren't even attempting any sort of eating challenge. Hats off!

Whenever my wife, me, and my three kids (all grown up, of course, and doing VERY WELL in life!!!) go here for dinner, we’ll usually get the 72 oz. steak 🥩, BUT, we’ll split it among ourselves, but still get the sides and dessert 🍨 and such.
Back in my wilder, younger days, I DID do a challenge like this one, but now that I have to watch my cholesterol nowadays, I don’t DARE anymore…

Fun Fact: While The Big Texan in Texas is the most infamous restaurant to do the 72oz challenge, Sayler's Old Country Kitchen was where the challenge originated. Sayler's started their challenge in 1948, 14 years before The Big Texan started theirs.
