Woooow! What a master builder you are. I'm currently building the same Tamiya 1:12 scale Tyrrell P34 and I'm trying to get it as accurate and true as possible. Your video is an inspiration to any model builder but especially to me. My project will be in two phases. Phase one will first show the full car with engine and transmission attached with the body work removed to show off the inner detail. It will also have a fully detailed just engine and transmission (separate) on display. My second part will be to build the same Tyrrell P34 but with body work attached in the "First National City" markings. What has helped me especially in seeing your cars, is colors and the plumbing. My only question is, the hose fittings, is it proper to leave them the natural color or should they be painted in the transparent red and blue? Again, thanks for the beautiful model and your help. Cheers, Glenn.....
Thank you! The Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell P34 is an old kit, but I think it's a very accurate kit. I hope this video was helpful. Good luck with the build! My question is about the cable joints? I painted them clear red and clear blue to give them an impact. I remember seeing a picture of the actual car.
@@NIGHTROTROOM Hi, thanks for getting back to me so fast, appreciated. Out of all of the 1:12 scale Tamiya F1 kits, this and the Wolf WR1 are my favorites. Thank you again for the comments. I'm looking forward to your projects. All the best, Glenn....
@@thephoneix271 Thank you! I'm thinking about starting my next work soon, but it's not F1, it's the first genre I'll try. It's a very popular plastic model in Japan, so I'm not sure if I can make it well, but I'll do my best, so please take a look.
Dear Sir I saw that the studio 27 detail kit you used is no more avilable Do you know for chance if it s possible to find it ? Thanks for Yr kind answer Best regards Roberto Milan
Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Studio 27's Tyrrell P34 transformer kit is currently out of production and is no longer in production. I used to have two of them, but I sold them at a flea market. The two I got were both on Yahoo Auctions. Occasionally, someone will put them up for auction on Yahoo Auctions, so if you search patiently, you may be able to find them.
Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but I had a further question about the paints you've used. Can you tell me what brand you use and also, did you use a gloss black under coat for the metal paints? I'm using mostly AK Interactive (usually don't require a gloss black base coat) and also the Alclad II which usually do require a gloss black base coat. I l love watching this video, GREAT JOB! did you drill all of the holes for the seat or was this part of the upgrade kit? Absolutely stunning as I've said. Thanks for your help. Cheers, Glenn....
Thank you for always watching. First of all, regarding paint, manufacturers use different companies' products. I use Tamiya, Creos, and Finishers for the engine. In particular, I often use Finishers' light gunmetal and Creos's baked iron color for engine parts because they are my favorite colors. In that case, the base is a gray surfacer. Gaia Notes Premium Mirror Chrome is used for plating.Apply an enamel gloss black base coat. I think enamel is more effective than lacquer or acrylic. Depailler's perforated sheet came with holes in the kit, but there were a lot of burrs and more than half of them were covered. So I used a pin vise to make holes one by one.
@@NIGHTROTROOMAs always, thanks for getting back to me so soon. I've never heard of the Creos or Finishers manufacturers but will try and look them up. Thanks again for the information, I'll make good use of it. Also, I don't know if you have ever heard of Zero paint (it's a lacquer) but give it a look. I really LIKE IT. take good care of yourself and good luck on your new project. All the best, Glenn....
@@thephoneix271 hello! Creos and Finishers are Japanese manufacturers, so they are very popular in Japan. In Japan, I think more users use Creos' Mr.COLOR than Tamiya due to the influence of Gundam plastic models. Finishers releases paints that match each car model with unique coloring that cannot be found anywhere else. I don't know about Zero Paint. I'll look into it again. Thank you 😊
