I know this is pretty late but is there any way to connect the phone to the laptop and then use the mouse and keyboard that are connected to the laptop or does it only carry over the display?
I would like to use that adaptor in order to connect a second external monitor to my laptop (msi bravo 15, 2022) and use it in extended mode (not duplicate). The first external monitor is pluged in to the onboard HDMI port of the laptot and I want to use the adaptor to connect the second external monitor and use them both in extended mode. Is that possible usind this adaptor?
can you do a portrait mode on monitor from the phone?

No beacuse the Droid identify the type " as a display first, you may if you can disable the display on the Droid but I haven't try that yet.
for some reason it wount display my phone screen on monitor everything else works

Have you try to lower the resolution on the laptop as a test to see if it can connect. Try lowering the resolution to 1080

I saw somewhere that in samsung mobile we need to agree to the pop up in mobile screen after that only screen would be shared on monitor. Please reply I need to back up my data from it
