To be fair, EXO is R&B at their core. They branch out from there to experiment with different genres but you can hear R&B at their core. Also, a reminder, that everything you SEE in their MV's (98%) of them anyway, are important clues to their storyline/concept story. You'll eventually dive into their concept and you'll find that EXO and Sm have made it our job to put the pieces together. They give us somethings out right and the rest we are to figure out on our own. It's interactive. So much so, that there are nods to their powers in MV's, VCRs and even their performances and choreo. Even the color scheme used is important. Their are hints and clues to their storyline in everything they do, including Solo and sub unit, even SuperM has nods to EXO's story and is part of EXO's story. There are a few groups that all connect to EXO's in a big, SM Entertainment Universe concept. It's that elaborate. So everything you see is important and possibly related to their storyline. Which is why the MV's don't match the lyrics. They most often have nothing to do with each other. It could be a total love song, but the MV is more about their concept than the song.
