Catherine Tate was a guest on Paul's show back in 2006. She appeared in one of Paul's pre-recorded episodes, usually Paul aired his show live Mondays to Wednesdays and pre-recorded Thursdays and Fridays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12.30pm. I remember watching one show when after a commerical break Paul said they had been "having fun in here, effing and blinding has been happening, but you will have to wait until Catherine Tate's new series to see what we saw during the break." Catherine later appeared on Paul's show later that week, which ensured she could be made up to play Nan, and also appear as herself on the show.
my grandmother wasn't quite like this but if she had something to say it would be brutal and hilarious. Rest easy Gran. Such a great character from Tate.
first time I saw Catherine do this character, I thought: 'That's my mum!'!!!!! Ol' Kent Road through and through! Anyone bought up in SE London, would know someone like this: salt of the earth. CT got everything about this spot on: her mannerisms, the way she sits, the way she rolls her 'Rs' - and the way she turns. 'What a f***in' liberty!'. To a T!!!!! Love ya muffa, RIP you funny, lovely ol' galx
If I was Paul Ogrady on this show I would have collapsed into fits of laughter. It was brill. jesus shes just like my mum, bold brassy and a gob bigger than the chunnell. im in fits of laughter watching her.
lol "Oh I can smell the piss from here!" LOL You can even see the cameraman laughing at the end "Oh that's it I'm going now! You fucking mob of disgust!" LOL I LOVE HER!!!
I can't believe that Paul managed to keep a straight face all the way through. I tried, but I couldn't really, I just kept laughing! lol. She's so funny! Maybe if I watch it a few more times, then I'll know what's coming and it won't be so funny... Nah, it's still going to be funny as hell!!!! xxxx
It's a sketch comedy, that's why the phrases are repetitive. [DUH!] Sketch comedies have a different variety of characters that have their own phrase, like this show & little britain. But on the other hand, something like The Vicar Of Dibley have the same charaters & different stories each time. [Dunno If That Made Any Sense! xD] Anyway, i LOVE The Catherine Tate Show! So Funny ^_^
When she told Paul about her grandson watching him all the time I was expecting a comment about Jamie being gay in there or at least something about men dressing as women.
I have no idea how Paul kept a straight face through that but good on them both! amazing as ever from Paul & Catherine
U never get tired of watching nan Taylor and I'm so happy a movie has been made

O'Grady and Tate. Two very talented people in an era that encourages talentless obnoxious TV personalities.
