I wanna be a QB so bad but I'm two short in like 41 in highschool
You should go into more detail in the body’s throwing motion when it’s placed in other situations where you can’t throw standing straight up..
ie.
While Scrambling and hurdling defenders
With defenders in your face
Or literally on your back
Throwing while falling out of bounds
Throwing while being tackled
Just a thought..
Bro hit his fingers with a little lick in front of us
I can throw over them mountains now
Question, I run drills and every time I throw and try to throw deep or even 10-20 yards and end up hurting my arm. It’s down where the forearm meets the elbow, is there any tips to stop getting that injury or adjustments I need to make?
Learn to grip the ball better with your fingers and not your palm learn to transfer your weight and use your hips and keep your arm in a straight almost 90° angle and don’t throw your arm out when you’re going to make a throw use your fingers to guide the ball when the ball comes off your hand your fingers are basically pushing the ball away from your hand it’ll stop you from getting that injury
Would say try to engage your lower half more in your throws. Focus on transferring your weight and letting your hips rotate you through the throw rather than putting a ton of stress on your arm
Pain in that area usually from throwing sidearm. Watch your throwing in slow motion and fix your mechanics. Your shoulders should hurt from throwing, not your elbow.
Been throwing 25 yards since I was like 11 idk how to get better no I don’t work out and I feel like I do all these tips
If you search up “First Down Training arm strength” on TH-cam watch our long form content. Really breaks down the details of it
Hey man love the videos, I have trouble throwing a consent spiral what do I do
Search up “how to throw a spiral first down training” and we have a ton of videos there to help!
How do I get a spinning throw? The ball always flails in the air
Search up “how to throw a better spiral first down training” that video can help!
Just have good footwork and let’s the ball roll of your index finger also put power behind your throws
Video was cut off
Thx
@@firstdowntraining it totally did!! I used to only be able to throw 45 yards now I can throw like 70!!!!
Any drills or tips to get hips through first
Would say focus on letting the “weight transfer” and “hip rotation” start the throw. That should almost be your through process like the hip drive is the very first thing that goes. That seems to help my QBs
* further bro
I'm waiting for a qb to throw a football like a rugby pass to his receivers. You dart a rugby pass. Imagine shot gun formation. Qb looks like he's at rest with his hands down but he's getting ready to launch the ball.
Thank u man i can literally throw 30 yards+ and im only 10
No problem bro, really glad the content has been able to help you! Thank you for watching
Do you have a link that shows somebody throwing the football?
If you checkout the content on this page the more recent stuff, we have a bunch of clips
Hey im a kid playing football for 2-3 years, and i have juvenile arthritits would it be possible for you to give me a couple tips for throwing. Would be greatly appreciated!
Yessir if you checkout our “Quarterback” playlist on this channel we have daily tips there that can help you!
@@firstdowntrainingthanks! I didnt know you guys had playlists dedicated to that.
On my deep ball, is it okay if I take a few seconds to throw it compared to my bullets which barely take any time?
Yessir you want to take a bit longer on those just to let the play develop
The arm strength thing is not always true my friends play football good qbs me to their both kinda weak throw and I’m stronger than them and I throw farther but not saying it’s not a fact it depends on how strong you are to have that effect because some skinny kids in my class throw far to
You must shoulders width appart ?
What if you have scoliosis
It was all good for me until I torn a rotator cuff on my throwing arm in high school and broke my radius & ulna bones in college. In my mid 30s now, still have shoulder pain often when I don't get enough sleep, if standing for too long, continuous heavy lifting, or after throwing the football at a park. I've also permanently lost range of motion on my injured wrist...With that said, I still can throw the football in tight spirals with pin point accuracy up to 40 yards on any given day. Strangers on the receiving end of my football throw tells me sometimes they hear the ball whistling. I presume people could tell, since they've never asked, that I used to be a qb probably from my throwing motion and how the ball travels accurate and fast coming off of my hand. But for some odd reason, I struggle getting the ball pass 50 yards on a lob throw. I'd love to watch it fly 60 70 80 yards with 5+ seconds hang time. That's the whole reason I got into football as a kid in the first place because I fell in love watching the football fly high though the air in a spiral; especially the official USA kind not those composite China stuff. I didn't care much about football as a game since the beginning. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to win a ring and get overly paid to play. Honestly this day and age, I could careless about football as a game. I just enjoy throwing it and watching it fly. Given my age and condition, any suggestion on how I can accomplish throwing 60 plus yards or improve on my limited range? I've checked strength. I've checked mechanics. I've checked technique. I'm definitely not lacking those 3 things. Maybe the reason could be from not enough motion quickness or couldn't get that snap due to my prior injuries!? I get envious of those in the 60+ yards club. That is the only thing I am missing from what I enjoy doing.
Good lord simmer down a bit
If it’s not about the strength the why can’t 5year olds throw that far
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I’ve never played football but I’m trying to get into it, but I can’t throw past 20 ft, any suggestions 😅
Would search up “first down training arm strength” and we have a ton of content there that can help
Thank you so much, I’ll keep updated I’ll be practicing today, if you are free today could we do a call so you can show me what I’m doing wrong, if not that’s okay, have a great day
@@firstdowntraining im getting a good spiral but it’s still going 20-25 ft
U have to throw off your front leg not back
I’m deaf💀
where should my fingers be on the ball?
Grip varies for everyone, but I like my wring finger on the second thread
Was he in the Marines?
No sir, just a lot of family in the marines and all branches of the military
Bro, why are you talking so fast? It’s not a rap battle that you were against Eminem OK
thats a rugby ball
It didn’t work
Which professional team does he play for again??? Oh yeah, never mind.
This didn’t help me at all
HIM: “its not about your arm strength”
HIM: “what’s gonna get you more arm strength”
This guys a joke 😂🤣😂
Who you played for an how long? Who are you an what makes you the quarterback expert now boy stop the cap!
Thanks man I spent a whole summer working out and put on about 8 pounds of muscle but still couldn’t throw deep but after watching this I literally throw 20-25 yards further
