    Nice work and thanks for the efford! But is there a way to use predefined field with CAX4 Elements? Since you're using the ones with reduced integration. Is there a list with possible Element types? I cant find it at all.

    Very nice video sir. Sir actually I am working in geotechnical domain I wanted to ask do we need to provide the loading in my case gravity loading and boundary conditions used in previous model again after copying the deformed parts in new model?

    If in the first stage we have two part instances (in the assembly), generated from the same part, then in the second stage should our new part have the name of the previous part or the previous part instance? Thank you.

    First of all great video and very well explained.
    I request you to provide the reference from the ABAQUS Manual for the video demonstration you made, as I want to learn more in detail such as what are the limitations and capability of this technique.
    I mean to say that where I can find more detail regarding this technique in ABAQUS Manual (sections and subsections ), as I am not able to find this in the ABAQUS Manual.
    That will be very helpful.

      I want to answer what I can to sart a discution. I'm working on this subject, what I can say the biggest 'limitation' is the accurancy of the behaviour law you use. Most behaviour laws are obtained from monotonic essays, so when the same particule of the piece is subjected to differents solicitations (for example, first stage to traction and second state to high shearing stress) a generalised Baushinger effect appears, with a simple isotropic law you can not reflect these effects.
      Another problem is that for different procceses normally you need different meshes needs, in this example it worked just find with the same mesh, but that is not always the case, that the bigest problem I find on these studies.
      If you want to discuss I am open, I am writing some scientific articles on this subject at this moment.

      Dear,
      I read Documentation wherever i need refrence/help. But my tutorials may not having direct refrence in documentation. Instead they have refrence from many chapters of abaqus documentation and/or from different software help research paper. So for every video it is not possible.. You need to do excercise by yourself. I suggest to read completely - "Getting started with Abaqus/CAE" from Abaqus documentation.

    I have checked the naming and all. I already input the correct job name. And I followed your step by step in importing odb file. What did I possibly do wrong?

    How to define the thickness of a deformed shell element in stage 2 as it is not uniformly distributed after stage first

      Dear,
      These are not shell element..these are continuum axisymmetric 2d element...CAX4R... treated as 3d element (after revolving). So don't bother about shell thickness bcz there is no such thickness considered.

      Actually I have to perform multi-stage incremental sheet forming
      I have done the first pass in which the thickness of the shell sheet is 1mm which is not uniform after first pass results
      But now during the second stage when I have to create a section under property module
      Should I use solid, homogeneous or shell, homogeneous
      And in the case of shell I don't know how to give thickness to this deformed part

      @@sahilbendure4034 ultimately it turned out that I was not able to define a thickness for stage 2.
      So I came came up with the new method.
      you can do all the multi passes in just one simulation.

      No dear, material properties are distributed and assigned already... changing them...means completely new analysis..there is no meaning of multistage analysis then.

    For me in stage 1, the elements are destroyed.

      I think You cannot chang mesh. As all results of stage 1 are mapped on existing mesh only.

      In case you can use only constant stress throughout using prestress field.

    @simTech05 i have one question that why didn't you update the reference configuration in predefined field option. Also, do i have to request output requests if i want to perform this analysis.
    If you could help, i want to perform explicit analysis of RC beam under repeated impact loading. Should i request output requests as the model interaction and boundary conditions will remain same. Only, i have to import part instances of concrete beam and rebars so should i request output requests and update reference configuration or not?

      Dear,
      displacements and strains are calculated as total values relative to the reference configuration at the start of the analysis and will be continuous from the start of the analysis. Toggle on Update reference configuration to reset the reference configuration to be the imported configuration.
      Decide accordingly.

      @@simtech0598 ok thank you sir. What about restart requests. Do i have to check that option in Output->Restart requests as i found in documentation but not in the video because I think it is necessary.

      Dear,
      Restart is necessary when you want to continue the same step for increased load/displacement.
      Here we imported results for next stage (different tool setup)...we are not continuing the previous stage.

    Why you didn't toggle on Update reference configuration when you create a predefined initial state?
    If we donot toggle on it, will the model run continuously from the previous stage to current state?

      I also read about the ABAQUS manual about defining the initial state but it is still confusing. So, if we want to run the seconder step with the part imported from the first step and to make it continuously, we should toggle on or off the update reference configuration?

    sorry sir I have a question. You defined a reference point and the you gave it displacement, shouldn't we define a constrain between this refernce point and the die or the punch ? or because die here is rigid body we don't do that and if is it deformable we must define that constrain ?

      Dear,
      Punch and die are rigid parts. So the refrence point is must for the rigid part and no need to apply any constraint between rigid part and their respective point.. software assume that point as point of action for rigid body.

      what you meant by linear pattern?
      If you have any CAD model Abaqus provides different geometry import option.
      Right click on "part" in side panel - import part.

      Abaqus provides pattern option in assembly.
      You can call one part and make copies using pattern.

      @@simtech0598 If i do like what you say and call the part from the first step and repeat it the resulted parts will be the same as the one I repeated not the same as their marched parts from the first step because every bar in step one has its own behavior so I must import each one alone in the next step not import one of them and repeat it do you understand me my question is who to made this process easily for this case?

    at predefined loads we r giving previous deformed file name..but i got an error at job ...showing that file name.res not existing ....could u please help me out

      Issue with naming or file not available in that folder. Watch video carefully...Check model again precisely..!

    Nice work, I have working on process interaction too, do you kwon if it is possible to remesh the part on stage 2 and let abaqus do an interpolation of the initial field values? For the instant I see it only possible if we use the .inp file and I do myself the interpolation with a python code. But it would be nice if we could do it all on the CAE
