Nice video Andruw! Appreciate you being as slow and careful as possible in removing those short boards from the off-bearers position. Perhaps if your dad had a pusher stick that he could get them past the splitter for you to grab would be a better solution, not sure. Warm up and stay safe my friend!

The first question that comes to mind, is why didn't you use an 8' or 12' log for the stair treads and then cut them to length after milling? The 4' logs were cut to that size to begin with.

The customer brought us 4’ logs. Just one of them things yes it would have been easier if they was longer. Thanks for watching

One time, I sawed out a whole bunch of stair treads for a guy. He wanted them 5' long, red oak and 7" thick half rounds. I logged the trees off his property and did the job, they were heavy, but it was a good job. SR

How does the stepover adjustment work on this type of mill? Is it 1" for every pull of the lever or something?
