ANOTHER REFURBISHMENT & TACKLING A COUPLE OF SMALL JOBS ON THE 135

  • In today's video I show off my refurbished calf crate for a fraction of the price of a new one. Then I tackled the door handle on the 135 which turned out to be an awful job and took much longer than planned and then I gave the blades of the topper a lick of the grinder and greased it up.

Hi Karen, you are a real trooper and no job seems to bother you in the least. And you do all this to help your dad out on the farm, while holding down a full time job. The calf holder is a huge improvement and should help you out immensely. Another interesting video. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.

Don't go crawling under the topper. If you need to get under it get some sleepers or blocks to put each side, so it's supported. Don't trust the hydraulics, safety first. 9:37

IMPORTANT SAFTY TIP : When using an angle grinder always use the correct RPM wheel for the angle grinder. We had a terrible tragedy in our community when a local waterman put a 6000 rpm wheel on a 9000 rpm grinder. The wheel can break apart and seriously injured you.
I’m sure your equipment is in good order but I still pass that important tip along to anyone using an angle grinder.

  • @davidstoddard9160

As I see your repaired calf holder , or whatever you call it, I do see that the bar that you need to put in place to lock the head of the calf and my advise would be to put on an extension to that iron bar, so that your fingers dont get pinched while securing the bar. This would be an easy fix by a wooden handle attached to the bar. If it saves fingers and hands in genera,l it is a great day.

Don't go under the apple trees without a hard hat on. Maybe better to weld a pipe on the back of your topper in the centre or one on each side one in the centre would do me around about 70mm long 50mm diameter drilling a hole right through it. Then with hydraulic fully up put another neat fitting pipe inside it can drill a number of holes through it . Next time with hydraulic up drop in the pipe and put in the pin it would be safe to sleep under. Mind on the job at hand work safe don't forget your ppe.
