    Question 2, so you can't just connect through SSID and PW?

    Great video. I'm new to the whole VoIP scene. Question, do you have to have a SIP server to use this phone? Are there other ways to use it without a SIP server?

      Yes, a SIP server or VoIP service which support SIP is required to use this phone and most VoIP/SIP phones. We fully support and love the WP820 at www.accentvoice.com.

    Seems to be easy but if you do not get the full SIP credential from your ISP provider you can receycle the phone

    Can you use the phone for simple LAN communication, with another SIP server like Call Manager ?

      Yes, you could use this phone for LAN only based communication.

    Hi, great video and thx for sharing. I was able to setup my Grandstream WP820 using your vid. Two things I noticed:
    1) When receiving a call from another in-company SIP phone on my WP820, I wasn't able to decline the call. In fact, every time a pushed the hangup button, the incoming call would simply continue coming in.
    2) Also, when I made a call using my WP820 to that same other in-company SIP phones, and I would decline my call on that phone, my WP820 continuously sounds as if the line is busy instead of aborting the call.
    Any idea whats going on there? Thx, Koen.

      Hi Koen, thanks for the great feedback. Based on what you've described, here's a best effort analysis:
      Usually the issues you're describing are related to the SIP messaging being sent between the SIP phone and the phone system (PBX). The phone wants to send a specific message to the PBX during those operations and the PBX might be looking for something else. The specific SIP messaging is the SIP Reject message which would signal from the phone to the PBX to reject the call and send it to voicemail. It sounds like the Grandstream phone is sending the default SIP Reject code and the PBX doesn't like that code (probably looking for a different one). Your PBX admin should be able to assist in identifying what specific Reject code the PBX is looking for. After that the Grandstream phone can be tweaked to send that specific code instead of the default one.

      @@AccentVoice Thx for your feedback. I took contact with our PBX provider for further clarification. Grts, Koen

      Hi, they told me Reject Code is 486. Do you have any idea where I can set this code on the WP820? Thx, Koen

    • @AccentVoice
      @AccentVoice 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The SIP 486 code is the "busy here" code which communicates that the endpoint your trying to communicate with is sending that code when you try to answer. Your PBX provider should be able to help troubleshoot this from here since it's clearly an issue with the far end sending a busy code to your WP820. Your best bet is to engage them more deeply to help identify why you're receiving a 486 message.

    I have an Avaya IP Office , Will i be able to add this phone into the avaya Environment and please advise how it can be done ?

    • @AccentVoice
      @AccentVoice 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your Avaya system supports SIP based devices then you should probably be able to add the phone. However, manufacturer specific phone systems like Avaya (and others) can be very particular about SIP support if they support SIP devices at all. In our experience, we've seen SIP devices on specific phone systems supported however it may also require a unique license to add SIP device support.

    I saw other reviews saying the wp810 was better than the wp820. I'm only using it on my home wifi, I want a good speakerphone for home office so I can leave my cell elsewhere. I have wifi 6

    Can you use the phone without internet just for simple LAN communication

    • @AccentVoice
      @AccentVoice 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a PBX on-premise you can you use it on the LAN. You could also potentially use it on the LAN for IP based calling. However, the phone may still require registered SIP account before it can make any calls, which means you would need a PBX local. We haven't tested that but I would assume that's the case.

    What's about this phone battery, is there any issue relating its battery.

      Battery life seems pretty good. Grandstream touts it at 7.5 hours talk time and 150 hours standby time.
