- As many of us have already seen by now, a couple of days ago there was an exceptional sermon given by Pastor Loran Livingston of the Central Church in Charlotte, NC.
In the sermon, Pastor Livingston not only rebuked Christians for confusing politics with being spiritual, but he also warned about the clear and obvious blasphemy of the “God Bless the USA Bible.”
For those of you who haven’t seen it, here’s the clip now, and pay special attention to how quiet the audience was for the most part. This is likely an indication that many were shocked that someone is actually saying these things, but also, a lot of them probably didn’t like hearing the message.

There is not, never was and never will be 'the antichrist'. Paul in the bible made it clear that there will be (and have been) many antichrists.
Trump is ONE of those antichrists, as God told me in a dream three years ago. But he is not THE antichrist.

What the hell did you expect me to do?
You told me to love my neighbors, to model the life of Jesus. To be kind and considerate, and to stand up for the bullied.
You told me to love people, consider others as more important than myself.
You taught me to sing "red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight."
We sang it together, pressing the volume pedal and leaning our hearts into the chorus. You said that “He loved all the children of the world”.
You told me to love my enemies, to even do good to those who wish for bad things. You told me to never "hate" anyone and to always find ways to encourage people.
You told me it's better to give than receive, to be last instead of first. To help the poor, the widow, the stranger at the gate.
You told me that Jesus looks at what I do for the least-of-these as the true depth of my faith. You told me to focus on my own sin and not to judge. You told me to be accepting and forgiving.
So I paid attention.
I took in every lesson.
And I did what you told me.
But now, you call me a libtard. A queer-lover. You call me "woke." A backslider.
You call me a heretic. You make fun of my heart. You mock the people I’m trying to help.
You say I’m a child of the devil.
You call me soft. A snowflake. A socialist. You shun the very people you told me to help.
What the hell did you expect me to do?
I thought you were serious, but apparently not.
You hate nearly all the people I love. You stand against nearly all the things I stand for. I'm trying to see a way forward, but it's hard when I survey all the hurt, harm, and darkness that comes in the wake of your beliefs and presence.
What the hell did you expect me to do?
I believed it all the way.

@@seagrif He's a lordship salvationist, he makes the classic mistake of switching "repentance" (A recognition of one's own wrongdoing or guilt) with "penance" (A need to make recompense or pay for one's wrong doings)
So his "faith" if you listen to even just the sermon this clip came from is really "salvation with a payment and financing plan of "good works""
He is one of those types that get hung up on that "faith without works is dead" verse (not a teaching of Paul fyi, and paul is \our/ disciple, we should be studying his letters and not jame's letters. You already did your "good work" by recognizing yourself as a sinner and realizing you've lived in error, admitting you are have a problem is the first step to recovery after all, and alot of people will go through their entire life without \ever/ recognizing their own wrong doing or sin, nor asking Christ or anyone else for help (see: trump, see: trump supporters).
Basically the short of it is, to satisfy the gospel of James requirement of "faith without works is dead", all it takes is considering Christ when your back is against the wall, the fact that you even thought on him, or felt bad when you did something wrong (let alone try to fix it), completely 100% satisfies this verse in full, Christ did all the work here to save you, it is finished and requires no further enhancements on your part. Hopefully that clarifies my issue with this pastor and even better, makes salvation easy to understand.

For those of you who aren't aware, Evangelical is a made-up word. You're primarily declaring yourself an angelic being walking on earth. That in & of itself is impossible because we were conceived through the womb of a woman with a body that will eventually deteriorate & perish, susceptible to sin, limited by time & space. That is not the definition of an angelic being or a Theophany. Some pastors and so-called theologians attach inaccurate biblical Jargan and definitions through a failed attempt to elevate themselves to a self-righteous state of being. That's alone is Blasthamy. Only Jesus accomplished that.
On the contrary. Those who are human have drunk to kool-aide and cannot see the Orange One as an anti-Christ. Many worship him instead of the Christ. That is HUMAN. Just like the Israelites in the dessert when Moses climbed the mount to be in God’s presence and bring down the Ten Commandments. Think. Why would God send Trump when Christ has already promised to return at the appointed time? How can men pretend to know when that is?

No, the Anti-Christ didn't cause this. People calling themselves followers of Jesus of Nazareth did when they stopped praying and listening.

Any church that becomes a political action committee, by telling members how to vote, should lose their tax exempt status. I have honestly left churches like that. Telling them that I served in the military for 8 years, defending everyone else's right to vote however they chose to, and they don't get to tell me how to vote or who to vote for. I always felt the same way from long ago. That a church like that should lose its tax exempt status
I was told by the elders of a church I was attending that I was out of the will of God because I would not vote for Trump in 2016. I left and have not been in an evangelical church since. What's sad is that the evangelical conservative legislation and stance is turning people off to the gospel msg because it its not anything Jesus taught. The perception of Christianity today especially among the young, is negative because of the political right and there's a good chance it will destroy Christianity in this country unless there is a reformation back to the essence of Jesus teachings. Frankly, any church telling you how to vote from the pulpit should lose its tax exempt status.
Using the bible and its teachings to push a political narrative or to justify hate, bigotry and exclusion is not a good Christian ideology. But it certainly is hypocritical and totally ignores the actual teachings of Jesus.

The congregations and the building that they meet in that allow politics and nationalism to infect them are the apostate. I have not step foot in a church building in 25 years when i saw this infection and saw it becoming widespread. This pastor has other beliefs that i disagree with but this part of his sermon i believe is biblically rooted. The most important mission on our temporary visit on earth is to spread the gospel so Jesus has the opportunity to brig nonbelievers into the fold and let them experience having an eternal life and god's love. Anything that interferes with that mission is ungodly. the church's actions and words have not attracted nonbelievers it has had the opposite effect.

As a Catholic, this is good news to hear from the Protestant religions.
I remember sitting in the Catholic church that my mom took me to as a kid hearing homilies about the upcoming Sunday NFL games. That's life changing stuff right there. 🙄

I am catholic, but went to a non denominational church as a youth which opened my eyes to Jesus's teaching more than boring mass.
Both churches provided me with a great Chistian foundation, but ultimately, I believe no mortal can interpret scripture and dictate religion to you.
Each individual has to pray, develop faith in Jesus based on the experiences God has set forth in their lives and establish your own beliefs rooted in the words of the bible.
Love thy neighbor does not mean only if they are white, Christian, non-immigrant and straight.
As yourself what would Jesus do? Would he seek revenge on his political foes? Would he bash LGBTQ? Would he talk badly about and mistreat illegal immigrants?

I was so thrilled when I heard Pastor Livingston's sermon. Finally! I thought to myself. Finally the church leadership is stepping up and telling Truth to power. Praise God!

If there really were such a person as the Antichrist, a man of sin "leading the flock astray," it would be hard to find a more appropriate candidate for that role than the 45th President of the U.S. It's about time some Christians noticed that.

I was watching body language, such as jiggling a foot, and many were not happy.. I have heard for years of pastors who were afraid to preach this as the congregation might become quite small.

Listening to Pastor Loran Livingston speak the word of God with strong conviction and without deluding it with politics, hatred, bigotry, and racism is like having a cold glass of ice water in a scorching hot sumner day.. It also confirms what God has shown me: that in the last days, many of God's people will fall into the spirit of delusion spoken about in the book of 2 Thessalonians 2.

Amen, Amen and Amen! As a convert to Christianity, in general, and Catholicism, in particular, I have become nearly distraught by dirty, loveless, worldly POLITICS being conflated with the religion that I love. I am SO grateful for my faith, I cannot express it strongly enough. But it brings tears to my eyes when I encounter co-religionists who parrot the Godless campaign mottos of a vulgar, immoral, lying, sexual predator whose values are OBVIOUSLY the opposite of Christian values. When I see fellow Christians following that awful man, instead of following Christ, all the while proclaiming a political gospel in the place of our Lord's, I feel such fear for them - fear for their souls! Lord Jesus, help them see. Please, Lord, draw them to your bosom and hold them tight! May they rest in your love and come to their senses.

I have always tried not to mix politics and religion. And I believe religious leaders, in particular, should try to remain impartial. Unfortunately, CHUMP has forced us to have the two clash. He thrives and delights in CHAOS, so I am convinced this is by design. I admire Dr. Livingston's ( I presume ) courage to publicly state the obvious. I'm sure everyone was listening. Problem is that some people are in denial and simply can not accept the truth. A sign of the Orwellian times we live in.

Amen! As a Catholic I strongly believe in separation of church and state. Pastor said it the best way I’ve ever heard it. The constitution has no references to God and that’s that! Love “ Voting is a civic privelage “ I pray that other Pastor’s take point in this sermon and pass it along. It’s going to take a lot of work to get the message thru since many have been indoctrinated into believing a man who didn’t read the Bible, nor can recite any particular verse be a God sent or a second coming of Jesus.

My former church is still mixing politics and the church all the time. It has cost that church most of its young people.
And a lot of us that don’t think this should be done.
I don’t have any trouble with reminding people to vote, or reminding us that we should all be proud of our country and honor our veterans.
😮But that is different!
I would remind people of the strong faith of former President Jimmy Carter.
People might question his policies but you can’t question his faith.
Also he never sold Bibles he just used his to read and stud y and live by!

He is right people follow a man and his lying words before they pick up GOD words and know them. It is ashamed how America has fallen with in herself. I have been praying along with my mom that GOD would opened up people's eyes to the devils lies and deceit within the false teaching about politics in GOD house of prayer. GOD house is a house of prayer and united of true Christians coming together in love and prayer for our nation and one another, The devil and his crowd have darkened the truth in so many today, So sad. The Children of Israel were exiled to Babylon, a pagan empire, for 70 years. Scholars estimate that 80% of the Hebrew Scriptures were written during this time of exile. God instructed them to live at peace with the Babylonians as much as possible, but without bowing the knee to their gods. God greatly multiplied and prospered them in this; however, I can't imagine how they must have felt as they watched their captors practice their cruel and licentious ways. This is how I see Christians living in this evil age as we carry with us the witness and truth of the Gospel. Take a look at Jesus' prayer for His disciples (and for all of us) in John 17. He prayed in verses 16 -17: "I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one. They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world." I always have trouble sitting through church services on or around patriotic holidays like the 4th of July, when we are forced to sing patriotic songs in the place designated for worship of the one true God. Do I give thanks for the freedoms I enjoy? Yes. Do I pray for our leaders that we may live in peace? Yes. Do I vote my conscience? Yes. However, I do NOT worship the United States of America!

But I lectured on Music History and Music Theory for 26 years.
From the Middle Ages through the Renaissance and the Baroque (Music) Periods, and up through the 1970s, settings of the Lamentation Psalm 136 or 137 (Super Flumina Babylonis) culminating in Boney M's 1976 cover of "Rivers of Babylon," the truth remains: If you are going to lecture about Music History, you had best be acquainted with the (original) Babylonian Captivity.
What fascinates me, above and beyond the fact that the names Esther and Mordecai are both of Babylonian origin, is that there are about four or five core beliefs that Christians inherited from the Hebrews, that were not part of Normative Judaism before the Babylonian Captivity. Angels as Messengers, Good and Evil as entities, rather than concepts, the afterlife as a place of rewards and punishments, and so on. These were borrowed from the teachings of the Persian magus Zoroaster. Rather humbling for everyone involved, I would think.

I have never agreed with the Watchtower (Jehovah's Witnesses) group. But I have respected their courage.
In recent days, I am more and more convinced that they were right about the Pledge of Allegiance. And here today we have a corrupt politician hawking a Bible that might have been printed by slave labor in China. With a fake leather binding.
I leave by taking note of two of my core beliefs.
1) Jesus's true Kingdom never was of this world; and
2) The heroic early Christians, down in the Catacombs, did not waste any time trying to figure out whether Servius Sulpicius Galbo was going to be a better or worse guy than Nero. Their eyes were on the prize.

You are mistaken concerning the Babylonians being "cruel." First of all, Hammurabi's Code was written 350 years before the "birth" of Moses. It is considered by most modern scholars to be a reasonably fair legal code for its time. Secondly, not all Israelites, Judeans, were carried off to Babylon. It was Royal families, priests and scribes, basically the leadership being held in captivity. They did not murder the entirety of Jerusalem, unlike the jews who claimed to have wiped out entire Canaanite cities.
Thirdly, the jews were allowed to keep and practice their religion.

Thank you very much for sharing this Truth. So many are deluded to believe we’re supposed to fight to build Christ’s kingdom on earth; to build His kingdom in America.
Christ declared: His kingdom is not of this world. Also that if He wanted, He could ask His Father, YHWH-God, and He would send legions of angels to fight for him.
“Christ” will establish His kingdom on earth when He returns.
Political documents do not belong in the Word of God. Politics are ever changing with time. Politics are the words of mere humans. The Word of YHWH-God; the Creator God; does not change.
Politics cannot bring us eternal life. Only YHWH-God through His New Covenant (New Testament); found in the Gospel of Christ; teaching us how to receive Salvation and how to live to inherit in YHWH-God‘s kingdom, (found in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).
Salvation will not be found in any political document. Only in Christ, the Living Word of YHWH-God (John 1).
We need to pray so these people open up their spiritual eyes and see what Trump’s intentions really are.
I have and I do. It will take God's light to open their eyes. I pray they all see his light.
