Halo has had sprint and stuff for over a decade, and all that gave the franchise was a less unique/more mainstream feel. OG Halo, with it's simple movement, floaty/low gravity feeling, and goofy physics is what made the series great. It was unique and fun, and because the movement was simple it could be picked up easier by newbies to the franchise, which is part why the franchise grew to begin with. Completely agree with your comments on the soundtrack.
Halo was released back in the day when games came with manuals, and the manual would explain the setup of the plot, newbies to the game haven't a clue what is going on in the opening cut scene, so, that need extending, even if it's only a Star Wars style text crawl. On the subject of plot, don't let 343 bring their retcons into it. Humans are Forerunners, not a separate subservient species... Graphics? Make the dark levels dark again, make it so you can see when you are shooting a shielded Elite, and give the Hunter's their charging up glow again, these are vital gameplay features missing from the graphical "upgrade" And if they redo Halo 3, fix the Brute's AI, return the Flood to their former glory, they are not, and never were shapeshifters, but most important of all, shut Gravemind up, or at least, don't let him pause the gameplay while he talks to you.
Well the issue is, what made RE2 blow up was the fact that it wasn’t the fixed camera tank controls original. Even RE4 remake took some departures from the original. If they kept the controls the same the campaign the same the sandbox the same, you’re basically just reselling CEA again which the community won’t stand for. I feel like what people want from a remake, hell , a new halo game at this point, is a culmination of what made every halo great. Having a great plasma pistol, plasma rifle, CE magnum, smg, while still being able to dual wield, rip off turrets, use the battle rifle, the carbine, the energy sword, the beam rifle. Having the CE enemies with CE stats but put in all the new main stays like brutes, drones, skirmishers, jackal snipers, sentinel enforcers, flood pure forms, scarabs. It’s not about going back to the start, it’s about taking everything that worked throughout the bungie era, leaving behind what didn’t so people can relive all their best memories in one game rather then jump between 3 or 4 on mcc.
This would be awesome but I'm not too sure it would be a good idea to put everything into a remake, especially if they would ever do a remake of the rest of the games, as I feel there wouldn't be much to add at that point
@@hrthrhs Absolutely not. If you go up close to textures they become grainy, the fidelity of everything is currently the lowest in the series in terms of detailing, and do not get me started on the horrible lip syncing.
@@Arander92 Yeah, with all due respect, no thanks. It still has a remake under it's belt. Also universally across the board it's the least liked of the trilogy. Halo 3 has yet to get one and was the flagship title for the Xbox 360 literally until the day they stopped producing them. H3A, followed up by a CE remake would go well.
@@DioStandProud I mean, if you love Halo 3 more than the rest, that’s fine, but 3 is nowhere near as universally loved as you claim. Plenty of people criticize it as having the weakest story in the trilogy. Sidelining Arbiter, rushing the plot, Truth being more demented for no explained reason, killing Miranda and Johnson in lackluster ways just for the sake of killing them, boss fight with 343 GS when we should’ve had a boss fight with Gravemind instead, I could go on. But all of that is besides the point. Which one you think is more popular is irrelevant. Which one needs it more is what matters. Halo 3 stills plays well, still looks great and it’s already HD. I want a Halo 3 remaster. That sounds great. But not while CE is bastardized by the Anniversary edition and every new player plays in graphics that destroy the atmosphere and tone.
Idc if people fight me on this but I'd love for them to take a brand new approach to the series. 3rd person with ADS elements. Allow for more advanced movements and feats of strength, new gadgets and even stealth elements along with squad mechanincs. Basically revamping the series with a new modern twist. After playing Helldivers 2, i began to think, this is exactly how the live action ODST trailer felt like. Now apply that feeling in a Halo universe. You are guaranteed to smash success if done properly.
I mean… minus the 3rd person, wasn’t that halo 5? Fast movement? Squad elements? Gadgets? I mean you said it yourself, helldivers does it great, better than 343 could ever hope to do. But the halo like genre is on life support, only forgers and modders are keeping it alive. no decently funded studio is seriously touching it with a 10 foot pole, and I don’t think 343 has it in them to make anything “new” no matter how good the ideas are. Better to just take the stuff that’s already made and polish it, it’s already worked with mcc, at least better then everything else they tried.
If none of the devs who worked on it originally are leading the project, it will fail. Another worry is that elements of the story and environment will be changed to line up more with stuff in Halo 4 where they made Forerunners aliens instead of humans completley breaking the hints laid out by Bungie in the original trilogy. A hard reboot could work now that Frank O'Connor is finally gone I guess, but only if Staten is consulted on how to handle the story, whether or not he wants anything to do with Halo after he got screwed over at 343i is another thing however. At this point Halo has been so damaged as a brand that I will not be surprised if Microsoft shelves it or 343i within this decade. It's been 13 years worth of letdowns with very few positives such as the Halo modding scene on PC. The coffin is practically sealed at this point. Maybe I'm too pessimistic but honestly, how could anyone who experienced Halo's glory days not be?
The fanbase is shattered. It’s over. For every fan that wants Forerunners to be human again, there are just as many(myself included) who absolutely LOATHE that idea and are glad Bungie scrapped it, even if it was last minute. If you get what you want, I’ll be miserable. If I get what I want, you will continue to be miserable. They cannot win in this scenario. There are too many factions in the fanbase now. I’ll just remember the good old days where Chief was still floating in space and we all accepted that Halo had its time, but the sun sets on all things. We were all happier before Halo came back
@@Arander92 The classic line "Don't cry because it's over, be happy that it happened" applies. It certainly feels like it's time to let Halo be laid to rest, it's not that it's not profitable anymore, just that it was steered off course over a decade ago making it near impossible to course correct at this point in time. The old fans are tired and, well, old... The new fans seem to not be all that plentiful or willing to stick around long enough to keep Halo afloat. The sad reality is that the franchise is a sinking ship in an ocean full of more exciting boats to be on, and it's been this way for years. Bungie didn't scrap the idea by the way, they just never fully committed and left it to us to pick up the hints left in all the games, like needing human hands to interface with Halo's firing controls along with the multiple hints in dialogue related to Humans being Forerunner, it all just made sense. Ever since 343i made the Forerunners alien the lore became a convoluted mess (not that I'm a lore guy anymore), and it ruins the irony of the Covenant trying to exterminate their "gods" during their hunt to embark on "the great journey".
I quite like the idea of introducing ideas and levels that Bungie had to scrap due to time crunch and fleshing out the game as a whole however I don't trust microsoft to be able to do that. And I say microsoft because as much as I despise 343 a lot of their problems come from the way microsoft chooses to manage the studio. I also think it'll tear the fandom even further in half if they touch the story because if they try to rewrite the game to fit the 343 storyline people will be PISSED.
Funny how there are talks to remake one of the best Halo games (CE), instead of remaking the worst Halo games (4 and onwards). Pretty sure we should remake the worse things.
Because it’s easier to remake something that’s already well received and the formula for success is well documented, then it is to remake something that only recently did the critics start to warm up to, and even then it’s mixed, forget about the average halo fan, as far as the average halo fan is concerned halo died with reach. Pile on top that the critics haven’t really nailed down what changed their mind along with the fact that 343 struggling to get even infinite right, let alone mcc on release. They need a softball, halo 4 is just too risky
AFter being really excited when 343 put out halo 4, to mildly disappointed with halo 5s trailer. They have shown they just cant do halo. Maybe a new company should take. Just my opinion, but halo used to have an identity, now its call of duty(IN SPAAAACE.)

Flood pure forms wouldn’t make sense, cause the most the flood have during CE is a protogravemind
Halo 4&5 could’ve done okay if they added duel wielding
The short answer is no
And the fact they think the least popular game being remade will save them but not H3A is BAFFLING to me.
A H3A would be pretty useless - that game still looks better than Infinite, exception being the cutscenes.

Still, a Halo 3 remaster is pointless. CE needs one that’s actually faithful to the art style
