Ge-Ge. I try not to make long comments. You make me want to talk about fragrance. I have 5 Middle Easterns, and only 1 is not high on my "wear crave". I appreciate the review.
So glad you enjoy them. I will always talk fragrance with you 👍🏼
I love the idea of you trying a new Middle Eastern each week and reporting back, I'm very interested in them. I wear Raghba Wood Intense and Qaa'ed all the time and just recently picked up Khaltaat Al Arabia Royal Blend and Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe Edition both from Lattafa and both are amazing. I can't wait to see your next discovery!
Sounds good! I definitely will be selective mainly based on research and recommendation!
@@gerardgeorge I'm looking forward to what you come up with, there's so many out there!
I always like learning about new Middle Eastern scents. The quality and presentation is great most of the time. Lattafa Eternal oud is my newest pickup. It's an amazing amber scent with some plum in the opening. Awesome video Gerard.
Happy to hear it Devin! The bottle on that Lattafa is 🔥
Nice scent love the video G stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
Thanks Antwain!
Thanks for posting this helpful video
You’re very welcome!
Nice video, Gerard. I haven't heard of this fragrance house but I'm going to check out some of their scents online after seeing your video 😊
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching Frank.
You look so fine on the video , I have the Black intense one, I admit this house made a gorgeous long lasting perfumes
Thank you 🙏🏼. I’ll have to try that!
@@gerardgeorge my pleasure
Good! I can't stand the marshmallow note in BTFP, so you just convinced me to buy :)
Yea that’s why I like this more
My favorite middle eastern fragrance is my amouage overture for man this thing is tough to find on a discount I had to buy mine full price. But it is soooo worth it. Also I would also suggest initio oud for greatness
I do like Oud For Greatness but haven’t tried overture yet.
The idea is very good, Gerard. In fact, the only fragrance where I don't mind the smoke and on the contrary I like it is Oud Noir by Ted Lapidus. In other fragrances it bothers me, like By the Fireplace or Afnan Supremacy Incense...
I haven’t smelled those others Holo but I heard great things about the Ted Lapidus. Would love to try it eventually.
Awesome review. I like the idea
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come.
@@gerardgeorge hope you can try megamare at some time. It’s weird and beyond beast but it smells great. Definitely a challenging wear. 🔱 🌊
Very helpfully many thanks for you.
Thanks Kharism glad it was helpful!
I had ordered Majd Al Sultan and received it today. Nice! It reminds me of a cross between Lattafa's Qaa'ed and Afnan's Supremacy in Oud. I don't know how they do it at this price!
Exactly my thoughts. Fragrance snobs will turn their noses up but you can’t deny how value packed some of these middle eastern offerings are.
@@gerardgeorge Let the snobs pay $300 for something similar!

THIS description sealed the deal for me. If I wasn't already going to buy it (I probably was) the comparison to Qaa'ed and ASIO sealed the deal, ha ha. That said, other comparisons to Ameer Al Oud were probably enough... that being my fave scent of all time, lol.
@ And I absolutely love the bottle!
Lattafa Ameer Al Ouhd is worth a pick up for sure! it is my favourite from the house beautiful Margiela by the fireplace clone. I have Asad , Khamrah , oud for glory and I like better than them all.
Thanks so much for the suggestion Brandon I'll add it to my list!
My SOTD is Fakhar, a semi clone of Y EDP. I applied it at 0600 this morning, and I can still smell it easily at 530 PM. I have decants of Y in the EDT and EDP, and while there are differences when sniffed side by side, Fakhar is very close, indistinguishable in the air, and lasts all day long... 20$ for Lattafa vs 120$ for Y? I'll take Fakhar all day long.
I love my Middle Eastern fragrances.
I’ve heard that’s a great one Michael and with performance like that it’s hard to argue.
Lattafa Khamarah won best Middle Eastern scent of the year over anything Amouage did, and that's saying something. Just saying, Middle Eastern scents are here to stay.
Seems to be the case Danny. I am more interested in the original creations as opposed to outright dupes but if they are good, they are good.
@@gerardgeorge a lot of dupes have their place though. Sometimes a fragrance is discontinued or extremely hard to get, and without a dupe 95% of the community will never smell it. Most people aren't going to pay $4-700 for a bottle of Givency Le Frenchy on ebay, and most people who have started collecting in the past 3 years likely never even heard of it, but Paris Corner has a dupe for $35 that's really nice. Or same with something like Penhaligon's. I know exactly one fragrance collector who has anything from that house, and while they're a high end, luxury house ala Creed, without a clone I doubt most people would ever get introduced to them.
A lot of times a clone is a great way of getting someone to eventually buy the real thing, the problem is when the real thing is reformulated and watered down enough that the clone becomes the better option. If that happens, that's more on the original house than anyone. Great, complex fragrances with high quality materials don't need to worry about clones because they'll be inferior. Amouage is a great example, I've only ever smelled one great attempt at an Amouage clone, and that was Afnan Supremacy Incense, and for as good as it was, it never had a chance of competing. But then you look at PDM for example, and while those scents are nice, they're not groundbreaking exactly. Percival is as basic as they come. Same with Greenly. Pegasus needed a sequel to get it right. Layton is fantastic, but easily duped. Now, that said, stuff like Armaf Craze and Al-Haramain Detour Noir has made a lot of people seek out Pegasus and Layton, but I don't see people ready and needing to spend a ton of money to buy the slightly better than Montblanc Legend scent. However, I did introduce a friend to CDNI and he ended up buying a retail bottle of Aventus.
Clones are absolutely worth talking about and serve 3 major functions:
- As an archival record of discontinued fragrances.
- As a gateway to buying full bottles of luxury brands.
- For people who simply can't afford luxury brands.
And that last one is probably the vast majority of the TH-cam audience. I make a six figure salary and I can't afford to buy all the niche that I actually want, so I assume that most people out there who want to enioy this hobby as well as clamoring for high quality dupes. People have probably heard a million great things about BR540 but can't spend hundreds of dollars on it. Meanwhile, look at how well all of the videos are doing when folks have reviewed the new Club de Nuit Untold. People are excited for something they might actually be able to get their hands on.
Anyway bud, I rambled on quite a bit, just my dumb hot take on dupes.
Try some Lataffa scents - a def one to check out is Khamrah. Literally no one had anything bad to say about it .
A clone of Angels Share
Yes this is one I plan on trying Janet for sure.
This joint sells out soons it comes in everytime.
This fragrance is a stronger version of Gucci oud intense
Oh nice! Didn't realize that.
It doesn’t last long
Mines not too bad but I agree that I would have expected it to last longer for the scent profile it is.
This scent is very very good, reminds a little the Ameer al oudh intense but more spicier and smokier
Interesting I haven’t smelled that one yet.
@@gerardgeorge It's supposed to be a clone of the" by the fire's place", you mentioned this already .
🇷🇴🙂IS MAJD AL SULTAN....NOT SALTAN....WITH "u"
Thanks brotha. If you’re ever in Boston it’s paahk the cah not park the car.
