*TIP: Anybody using this I wouldn't recommend starting from the root because it cuts the hair shorter each time therefore the already short pieces have a much longer time to catch up with the rest of the length (especially if you are using it often. Also our split ends tend to be from the lower mids to ends anyway so it's always better to start from the midlenths or further down the strands. Split ends don't tend to make it that high up to the root unless your hair is really short and even then it tends to break off before that. Happy hair journey!* Also to add just because it cuts the hair off doesn't make it a split end, split ends tend to have a rough feeling and you often see a white tip or split loop in the hair.
Thank you for the FYI. What is your opinion about this tool and single strand knots?
I would not trust that.. malfunctioning and then it trims at your roots 😮
I was trying to figure out why she was starting at the roots.
Thanks for the info
These were popular years ago, and black women did in fact review them. Tik Tok is always behind time, bringing back fads that came, saw & conquered.
Yeah...the natural hair community boomed 15 years ago and tiktok just caught up😂
I had one in 1997. It was called the split ender.
@@tcyk1500how did you like it?
And ain’t nothing wrong with that. Ain’t nothing new under the sun sometimes mfs forget lol
Anyone else hates letting the stranger at the shop cut your hair? 😩 this would be perfect for me I don’t trust ppl in my hair having had someone give me a bob cut without asking years ago I just can’t do it thank you for the review curl friend ❤
Yay! I completely agree, grab this sis!
@@AsAlwaysAleiayes I will thank you!!!!
I need this I've had bad experience at the shop
I'm done too I then had two big chops because ppl put to much heat in my hair. Not letting nobody in my hair as long as I live and have strength to do my hair
I can't stand it either. I feel like those stylist think that if they do not cut off large amounts of hair, they are ineffective or not accomplishing anything. I could agree that our hair may have significant damage but chopping off large amount of hair has never improved my hair quality.
I received mine today. Did my whole head in 15 mins and it feels that much softer and looks healthier.
Thank you ❤ each side took about 15 mins 🎉
Hi there, what website did you buy it from, please? She has it listed on Tiktok, but we don't have that ap.
I see the difference. Your hair looks smoother and shinier.
I used this years ago and it does work. Straighten your hair first and use small sections.
Gurl! I have the Split Ender Pro 2... One of my best purchases ever
I am going to Google that! Thanks!
I looked that one up it’s $169.00 the one she’s using is $30
I was gonna say back in the day there was this thing called the split ender! Lol. I had it umpteen yrs ago lol
@@feefee2really I thought this was a new discovery why don’t hair shops use them?
@GIGI-lv1qt I only used mines 1 time. It only cut off a small amount so if u have a higher split it gets missed. I'm thinking that's y they don't maybe. But I had the original 1 that came out 20 yrs ago so maybe the updated 1s r better
It would be very helpful if you would let us know how your trim feels and how your hair behaves after a couple of months. Thanks.😊
That’s deep I get paid to straighten my hair”
GOALS
I got a sample on TikTok. It’s sitting right in my closet and stares at me when I walk by it.. was gonna use it when I last had my hair straightened. I guess I’ll use it next year lol
I definitely remember this gadget. I wanted one, but I allowed one bad review to change my decision some years back. May go on ahead and buy this thing and simply try it out for myself. Your hair looks amazing and you can see a difference in how smooth it seems to be, but the length is still there ❤🎉
I’ve seen negative reviews with longtime use. I’d love to see a follow up video
I was thinking the same thing. It looks like a gimmick product that would end up damaging a person’s hair in the long run with extended use.
Right, like does the blade gets dull with regular use over time... 🤔🤔
Everyone please make sure your hair is bone straight
Dont go down the section too quickly
Go over thr dection the same amount of times
I just got mines today! Omg it’s a game changer! I hate letting people cut my hair so this is awesome!
Hi there, what website did you buy it from, please? She has it listed on Tiktok, but we don't have that ap.
I have a Split Ender (the real kind). I've had two over the past 20 years or so. It does matter the direction it goes in. You can end up really damaging the shaft of the hair far worse than the ends. You should only work the ends and with our hair it should be pressed straight, use very light heat protection, work very small sections. We tend to have more dense hair so it does take more time. You're not supposed to have product on the hair, but we must because we have to straighten. If you dont use heat, you wont be able to get the best and most even cut.
It does look smoother than before; you can tell the difference. Definitely want to try it.
i know mine said to oil the blade before using. Also I def notice a difference when i twisted my hair, I had less stray hairs poking out.
Thanks for this info! I’ll try that next time
@@AsAlwaysAleia haha u good, yours seemed to work fine without. I know mine needed since my hair was def not as straight as yours lol.
Years ago I had this tool but with from the original brand and company which was called the split ender. It was a great product and worked well.
It's best to clip your ends. Especially if you have see through spots on your ends. Simply because it's the oldest part of your hair. But hope it works for you. I wouldn't recommend as a hair stylist for years.
I have had this product for almost 2 years and have used it twice becuz I haven’t seen many tutorials on using
Nice video but wld be good if u read instructions completely before using especially for something like this
You can read the instructions yourself.
Your hair is so pretty & healthy.
Thank you so much!
What you just did dust trim
Remember when we use to worry about fairyknots. This is the answer to that as well as eliminating split ends up the shaft.
I remember seeing this back in the day (late 90s, early 2000s) and I used to want it for me split ends when I used to have relaxed hair. I'm thinking of trying because i need my end trimmed badly but I'm afraid to do to the shop cuz I can't trust people are gonna do it the way i want/need.
Ordered under your link!! Cant wait to try it
Yay! Thank you so much!
I remember the OG of this. It was called the SPLITENDER😅 every ethnicity under the sun tried it. It was big, loud and kinda scary but much has improved since those "AS SEEN ON TV" days
I have been thinking about getting one. I'm happy you tried it. It would save me money.
I heard someone say it’s only cutting the pieces of ur hair that are fly aways. That it’s not really cutting split ends. She said if u flat iron ur hair n try it nothing will really come off. She also demonstrates it n shows the difference cleaning after each pass. So does it cut off ur fly aways or is it really cutting the split ends im confused. Can u straighten ur hair on camera then try it n tell us. Please.
Yes it just cuts the surface of the hairstrand. Then all hair which stands up will be cutted
@@Rebecca640which sounds like its not meant for textured hair
Thank you so much I thought I was gonna have to pay almost $200 on one!!! I just purchased mine❤❤❤❤❤
Yay!! Thanks for watching and enjoy! 🎉🎉
I remember this product from maybe two decades ago. I did not know it was still around. Remembering it worked well.
The direction you do it in matters with mine
Okay, thanks sis!!
My issue is actually straightening my own hair
Ooph... I feel like this would hurt my feelings 😅
I bought mine a few weeks ago after seeing this video and it works way better than the split ended pro I had the recently broke on me
This would be my first time hearing or seeing this product. I hope it works for you.
It did thanks for watching!
LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR
This has been around for years, originally called the spirit gender, meaning and my mom had one when I was younger, that was over 20 years ago
Dam they came back out with this. I purchsed the original
It would've been nice if we saw a back view of your hair after this trim to see how even it came out and just how it looks in general after use. By the way, the close-up shots of the product packaging were blurry and were not clearly visible at the beginning of the video.
I’ll show the back next time thanks and you can click the link in the description to view the package and more on this hair tool.
I used the og splitender from wayyy back in the day I still have it
When you get a chance can you give an update💖 thanks!
Thank you for doing this review. I was considering getting one for my daughter’s hair but was scared. Now that I see it can be used on textured natural hair, I’m going to get it. ❤
yes, but please do not start at the root of your daughter's hair. Please start from the mids.
I want one so bad but I have no room for anymore hair tools. 😂
Ahhh, a recycled trend has found it's way home😊.
I'm concerned that it doesn't make the hair even. I get that healthy hair doesn't have to be even but how do you know if it's catching everything if every strand isn't cut?
I have very thick naturally curly hair. I made the mistake of trimming it with that same tool while my hair was curly. I found out real quick that that is a big no no. I butchered my hair but luckily my hair grows fast and you can't tell since it's so curly. I definitely recommend all ladies with curly hair to straighten it first because doing it with natural curls won't work. I've learned from my mistake. Next time I'll make sure to flat iron it first then trim it. So ladies with natural curls please please straighten your hair first then use the tool to trim it. Don't make the same mistake I did.
Very cool. Awesome share Sis. ❤
Yes this was popular years ago, but LOTS of reports about it damaging people's hair and creating more spit ends, give us an update down the line...
It’s a no for me. I am sorry but this really appears to be damaging to textured hair 🥺
Interesting!🧐 Do the instructions discuss if the hair should be free of products?
She didn’t wash her hair before doing this, she stated she would wash afterwards, because it was wash day for her anyway
That's the Split Ender from back in the day...
While I think might be great to get rid of split ends in the shaft, I wonder if it is effective if you have product on your hair? Did you have product on your hair left over from your blowout/silk press/straight look?
Possibly because she stated in the beginning that is was wash day for her, and she was going to wash afterwards
send me the pink unbrush friend, I know you ain’t gone use them all lmao. I’m going to purchase the trimmer under your link because it actually came out so nice.
Haha i wish I could sis, I used all my unbrushes in a review already :) and thanks for watching!
I can't find the link to buy this product. Can you please share it with me? Thank you.
Here is the link, it’s only available on tiktok at the moment www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLMSwgL7/

Hello, the one that I am using is only available on tiktok. I am not sure about others

Interesting 👍
I see a visual difference
I have seen negative reviews after long term use. It looks like a gimmick product that would end up damaging a person’s hair in the long run with extended use.
I disagree, I use this once every 3 months or so idk how that’s damaging.
Send it back....
