The choking Freeza joke is actually about a very old english dub that most grew up with, where Freeza sounded like an old lady. And since this was made between seasons 1 and 2, tfs baited the viewers to think that they're doing that old lady voice before revealing his actual one
same voice actor as Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho i think and I kinda liked it haha
That would be Linda Young, who tried doing an impression of the first Freeza English voice actor, Pauline Newstone. In my opinion Linda tried too hard to sound like Pauline and it just didn’t work, but she found her footing much better in other roles like Genkai in YYH.
Freeza was specifically afraid of the legend about a super saiyan. It's ironic how all of his actions trying to prevent it led him right towards Goku becoming a super saiyan

"Doesn't afraid of anything" is just a reference to an ancient Halo meme, no deeper meaning ;)

The reason all the Saiyans Laughed at Bardock, (besides saiyans being stupid) In that point in history half of the Freeza Force were Saiyans, so they never thought Freeza would get rid of them.
I love that bardock looked into the future and got far enough that popo could look at him back XD
Honestly, if you found one of the "preferred" watch order lists, I'd say go by that. If you missed anything between episodes, catch up on those first, then dive into season 3.
If nothing else, TFS recently wrapped up a creator commentary series on their second channel, FourStarBento. With I think 2-3 exceptions, they watched everything in the order they released it in originally, so you could go by the order of that playlist too.

As for watch order, some specials make more sense to watch now due to characters power levels and chronology. In which order I cannot remember tho

I think this was the first recording for TFS Frieza voice.
22:30 so what's different here/not explained unless you seen dragonball, is when Grandpa Gohan finds baby Goku in the pod, Goku still has his saiyan traits. He is violently aggressive towards Grandpa Gohan, bites him at one point. It isn't until later where Grandpa Gohan is walking a mountain trail with baby Goku in the basket. Baby Goku reaches out for a near by hanging fruit, falls out of the basket and bonks his head. It's theorized this head trauma, is what made Goku lose some of his saiyan nature. And having been raised by Grandpa Gohan, he is unaware of his saiyan heritage, family, planet vegeta, etc until the saiyan saga.
It's explained in the first episode of Z and the first episode of Abridged.
Other than the guys at the bar making jokes, the scene was the same, they just didn't believe him and thought he was being rediculas because they trusted frieza so much
So, because this is about goku's father, and dbz was released in the 90's, they decided to go for an early 80's action flick sorta feel. Including the big rock ballads and such
Ghost Nappa cameo’ed in a couple of Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged episodes (in fact all of Team Four Star guest voiced in that series). Nappa will show up in 1 more episode and a movie so have fun with that. Also, Frieza killed most of the Saiyans out of fear of the Super Saiyan in the actual series he actually did know about and fear that legend.

RE: the prince, the king, and the planet being named Vegeta, you'll remember the one joke in episode 29 (when Goku shows up vs Freeza and a dying Vegeta fills him on what Freeza did to them) where in Vegeta's flashback, a guy running up to the King was like "Sir! Bardock has gone mad! He claims Freeza will destroy Vegeta!"; King replies, "My son, the planet, or me?", and he goes "...Yes." That's what that was about :)
Fun reaction, would definitely echo the sentiment of continuing to catch up to help Season 3 hit much better once you get the upcoming callbacks and character writings. (If I could make a minor nitpick, I would recommend cutting back on the mid-episode pauses a bit, because with how the writing gets snappier and wittier, you wouldn't want to pause right in the middle of a scene--but otherwise, enjoying your reactions!)
I think the dude of the tribe which could see the future gave it to Bardock as a way to show him how it feels to see his own extinction and be unable to do anything about it anyway.
Dragonball Z and any associated movies came out long before Lilo and Stitch. The only Dragonball product that was released after Lilo and Stitch was Dragonball Super (and the Super/Moro Mangas). The Eee-arth reference came from the original Bardock movie.

I've watched the next two movies but was unable to get them on TH-cam, so they're on patreon. I haven't abandoned the series, but apparently copyright is stricter on some of the movies.
When bardock was talking about vegeta as in king he was talking about king vegeta vegeta's father he has the same name as his son
Fish guy saw the future of bardock, saw it was the same as his, and forced him to experience the exact same futile effort of trying to deny an unavoidable tragedy.
Although in the abridged i think its just that he was dumb.

While the specials arent quiiiiite canon, the episodes are still made with the expectation that youve seen any special as well, so yeah

I think the best thing Abridged Nappa's voice actor has done outside of the DBZ Abridged series is his work on the Dragonball Xenoverse games as "male voice 8" - because it's Abridged Nappa. Complete with the absolute best voice lines in the entire history of anime videogames. Those lines include "Tryhard Attack!" and "Mega Ultra Super Hyper Alpha Whatever!" and various other incorrect names for all the attacks in the games. It's pretty epic. Kind of a shame I had my copies of the games stolen from me because Valve are abusive trash who want to claim that coveted "worst company in gaming" title from EA or Ubisoft or ActiBlizzard (whichever one is holding it this week).

I would actually recommend watching the specials, especially Kai abridged. They're extremely fast paced recaps of the previous story with some hilarious jokes
Heck one of the obvious jokes for when Frieza pierced Piccolo was in Kai 2 due to a fan asking why it wasn’t used in the series
And further more Lauren, if you understand the family names they all mean the same.
Goku = Come from the sky Gohan= to come from heaven
Goten =to come from the clouds
When grandpa Gohan picked up goku he held him to the sky trying to figure out a name, he realized goku came from the sky. But to me I see all their names for the word "Angel"
If you just look up thier name meanings you find stuff that's not accurate.
Should've seen what happened the first time Goku turned into a money. I mean, monkey. Actually, I was right the first time.
So the specials you should watch before starting season 3 are Christmas tree of might, lord slug, the 2nd bardock episode, the first Cooler movie and Kai episodes 1&2
Dead zone and world’s strongest also take place around season 1 but they made them later as the 1million and 2 million subscribers specials respectively during season 3. So you COULD watch them now or watch them later.

If you do plan to get through those specials sooner or later then now is the best time, because they all happen somewhere within or before Freeza arc, and Kai episodes will get you back on track with where you were in the main series for after you're done with movies. Best order to watch them in (not necessarily in release order but in terms of loose timeline and power scaling):
Christmas Tree of Might (2 parts)
Dead Zone (first in terms of timeline, but contained spoilers to ep 30, so was put after Christmas Tree, but now that it's no longer relevant you can start with this if you want)

The kai episodes are really short and really funny, they are an abridged version of the abridged version and i really recommend them
20:30 The short clip of the Para-Para brothers is a reference to Dragonball GT, and the only one 4-star ever does in the entire series, despite the fact that they reference GT at the start of every parody.
If im not mistaking before season 3 there are the death zone movie, the world's strongest movie, the christmas tree movie, lord slug movie and episode of bardock special in this order (episode of bardock is not canon is just a kind of "what if" story) , then for season 3 there are other movies and it depend if you prefer to see the entire season and then come back to the movies or if you want to do a timeline thing
I know you are watching abridged there’s a lot of joke but there’s something crucial you need to remember the stories/back stories are accurate so when you watch the broly movie keep that in mind
You should do the movies and specials for sure before moving on. In the original series they weren't as important, but Abridged incorporates most of them into the main storyline and you will miss out on callbacks and references going forward.
I definitely recommend doing the rest of the movies

This video continues the pattern of every reactor I've ever seen watch this movie either doesn't know, doesn't catch, or doesn't mention the parallels with this movie's soundtrack and related scenes, and the 80's Transformers movie. Which is always a shame, because Bardock's assault on Frieza's forces is one of my favorite DBZA bits because of that reference.
Personally I think that this movie was the only one really important to watch, for this saga at least, but if you want to watch more we won't complain

I'd say watch the specials. They're mostly good (though I personally never cared for the Tree of Might movie in either DBZ or DBZA) and in DBZA the jokes get referenced through both the movies and episodes.
The para para brothers is a knock to dragonball GT 😅 so it will not be explained in this here abridged series . fyi the blue guys in red dancing 😂
