  • Newcomers Jerry and Linda love the golf cart lifestyle of The Villages. Most days their car stays in the garage as they use their Yamaha carts to go just about everywhere. Basically a safe mode of transportation, there are some basics that everyone should know. Although not experts, and still learning new things every day, they share some important basics of golf cart operation. Everyone is encouraged to learn all pertinent information relating to golf carts from official documentation provided by the manufacturer and state and local governments.
We would like to thank everyone for watching our videos.

That was amazing, I have been watching your videos for so long and never even noticed headlights, brake lights. Never noticed the turn signal on the rear view mirrors either although most of the time you’re filming from inside the golf car ( see what I did there, called it a car not cart) lol. Also with Jerry following right behind didn’t realise how fast it looks like it’s going. I know you have showed like 20 per hour but it’s really noticeable when following it. And great points like always take your keys when you leave your golf car. Cute California stops there Linda, lol. Well you did it again a great video informative and entertaining. Great job again guys. Your friend Bobby.

My father in law lived on Jem Path. Close to Sumter Landing. He passed away in 2013. Loved his cart. His was electric. It wasn't fast enough for him so he took it to a golf cart hot rod shop.😂 Used to out run all the propane powered carts. He loved the village's. Btw, he called the gas powered carts the "stink fleet". 😊. Love your videos. Brings back memories.

It would be great if you could stop and point out where the main roads and the cart lane ends then point out the signs there where it says (Carts MERG with traffic lane). And point out that throwing a left arm out does not give golf carts the right of way. Way too many cart drivers don't slow down, ignore the signs or stop for cars. Great video's

  • @jonstrumel8327

Another enjoyable video. The only golf carts in Las Vegas are on the golf course. Everywhere else it’s your car driving with the cowboy drivers. Wish I had one, but there is no place to go with it without getting killed in the process. Stay safe and healthy, and always remember to wear your face masks when in public. The helmet is secondary. 😷

As far as Linda's driving, I know some of the things she did was to show us what NOT to do, but I am thinking the rolling stop and crossing the white line might NOT have been planned...therefore, I guess I will give Linda a "B-" overall. But if I am honest, I would say that Linda's GOLF cart driving was below PAR.

Once upon a time the golf cart parking brake could be released in two ways; hit the accelerator OR hit the regular brake pedal without touching the 'P'' portion. That kept them from the lurch when in a crowded area. Haven't driven one in a while, so I don't know about today's for sure.

Do the carts come with your property or do you have to purchase or rent them? What is the cost? Is it required to have a cart ?

    • @JERRYANDLINDA
      @JERRYANDLINDA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Carts are not required. Most people have them some people have two. Many homes have an extra garage attached just for their golf carts. Golf carts can cost anywhere from $2000 for an older model or up to $16000 for a brand new state-of-the-art model. They do not ordinarily come with a house you can buy them from an individual or you can buy them from one of the many dealers in the area.

Stephanie they sell those just about everywhere that deals with golf carts and you can get it on Amazon as well. The reason she is not using one now is that she has adjustable seats in her golf cart, which allows her to scoot that seat way up and she can reach the pedal no problem at all.

Gas or electric is all a matter of opinion. Both can work well. Gas will have a much larger range up to 250 miles between fill ups. The prices to each will be similar. You will probably find 90% of the carts or more here in the villages are gas.

Thank you a Linda for, deliberately, showing us the error of our way - rolling through stops, leaving turn signal on. We all know, normally, you are a cautious driver & used it as a teaching example...
However, It was kind of early to give me a heart arrhythmia, as you left turned & crossed all the lanes in one felt swoop. I suspect you felt stressed being filmed?

Our golf cart looks like a red 55 Chevy. It is fun to drive.

We take our little Malti-Poo Winston on a golf cart ride every day. It breaks up our day and Winston loves it. It's one of the joys of living in the Villages.

How many golf carts are stolen per month at the Villages?

It probably happens once in a while, but none that we know of. When it does happen, I would bet that the thieves are not residents of The Villages.
