All of those children seen here, if still alive, would be in their 80's by now; my mom is currently 82 (Class of 1958), father just turned 87 (Class of 1954). Loved how at the beginning the mom dragging the boy and girl back on the platform LOL

0:10 The best shot was the woman (mother?) yankin' the kid and the dude (son?) away from the oncoming train.
    Classic behavior. 🤠

I grew up in North Abington and was always hanging around the freight yard and walking the tracks on the old Hanover Branch that originated there. Great memories. Tnx for the video.

Thanks for posting the old film of the New Haven Railroad. The film showed many different locations and equipment they were using. The last scene reminded me of one of our Philadelphia commuter trains. The Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines ran RDC’s between Lindenwald, NJ and several shore resorts. The train to Ocean City and Cape May usually ran a two car RDC out of Lindenwald and then separated and ran as one car RDC’s to the end of the line. The only thing different than the New Haven operation was the seashore trains were all full passenger car type and did not handle baggage or express traffic. As for quality of the films considering their age they were of decent quality. Most likely there is some software that may be able to help present it with some improvement.

Could use those self-propelled diesel cars today. Too bad the Budd SPV-2000s were such a failure.

What are the first two locations, before Taunton?

The first stop is Stoughton, which is still used by MBTA and that is the end of the active line. The second station is North Easton which is now used as the historical society.

Very interesting video, love it all. I have posted the link on some of the New Haven FB sites and NHRHTA.ORG. There are probably video editing programs that will increase sharpness but I am a rank armature so research is in order. Still I do really like the whole thing. Looking forward to more when you have the time.
