We really have to thank Disney a lot for the evolution of Vekoma. Disney's faith and investments pushed Vekoma from a manufacturer famous for rough rides to arguably one of the most elite ones in the business.
As a Dutchman, Vekoma is by far my most ridden manufacturer. My ranking of the ones I've done: 1. Python - Efteling 2. Xpress: Platform 13 - Walibi Holland 3. Booster Bike - Toverland 4. Speed of Sound - Walibi Holland 5. Tornado - Hellendoorn (now called Balagos) 6 & 7. Tweestryd - Wildlands (I slightly prefer Mijnbouw over Landbouw) 8. Rioolrat - Hellendoorn 9. Canobie Coaster would say: Number 15: Goudurix at Parc Asterix. For years, I heard this coaster was one of the roughest and most A) graceful B) painful C) forceful D) meandering in the world. But those who rode it in 2019, like me, said it was riding much A) smoother B) rougher C) weaker D) faster for some reason. So I actually liked this ride. It had barely any headbanging. So not only were the inversions tolerable, but they were genuinely great. And they had some incredible power, especially because they are all chained together.
My favorite Vekoma roller coaster is Rock n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Some of my other favorites include Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Firehawk and Batwing at Kings Island and Six Flags America. It would be fair to say I haven't ridden many of their rides.
Canobie Coaster would say: Number 18: Nighthawk at Carowinds. The prototype flying dutchman does a lot of things well. The layout has very strong positive Gs on the turns and valleys. And they get even stronger on A) the vertical loop B) the corkscrews C) the turnaround after the first drop I love that element. Most of this coaster is comfortable, but there's a notable exception, the final two corkscrews. They can really shake you up.
Vekoma over the last 20 years surely make yo do A Double TAKE with all the coaster builders out there. We DO have some cool stuff state side especially Everest & the Great Nor Easter (Best name BTW) I wish some of those installations like in Europe make it here as well.
I have a feeling that those would be my top 2 as well if I had ridden all these. As it stands, Batwing is my favorite. My memory of Firehawk is a little fuzzy, but if I could ride it again, it would probably be tied with Batwing. I'm a big fan of Blue Hawk, as I love the forces & headchoppers. It was my favorite until I rode Batwing.
Imagine a quote, Canobie Coaster would say: Goudurix at Parc Asterix. For years, I heard this coaster was one of the roughest and most _ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the world. Why is everyone always apologetic about floater airtime? I love that stuff! It's pure fun. I think you're pretty much spot on with this list. I do feel like the only person in the world tho really enjoyed Goliath (SFNE) with the new trains. It's still in the right area on the list though
Nice video! IMO The minetrain from Phantasia is better the Disney's minetrains. Wondering why BTM had your preference :) Greetings from the Netherlands

Canobie Coaster would say: Number 10: Loup-Garou at Walibi Belgium. This is the only Vekoma wood coaster i've experienced. This company didn't built many, but it showed some promise. The layout is quite good. There are some great drops in A) the front car B) the middle car C) the back car with some really good airtime. But if you want a smooth ride, this is not the ride for you. It is A) very rough B) very bumpy C) very shaky The cushiony trains mitigate this issue for me to absorb the blows, but it may not be enough for some.
Most SLCs with the traditional over the shoulder restraints are smooth for you? The roughest coaster for you in the world was Flashback at Six Flags New England?
I can't say what my favourite vekoma coaster is due to me getting an ugly ride on Infusion at BPB and I haven't rode Big Thunder Mountain at DLP in years.
Imagine two invented Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerangs being built, one in Mississippi and one in Nebraska, in two different parks, one using the original staggered train and one using a 4 across train similar to the Premier one that ran in Goliath at Six Flags New England, what do you think and would you like?
Also Odyssey, Millenium and Kumali in the UK are solid Vekomas you should ride the next time you come to the uk Odyssey is truely the king of vekoma slc and is the tallest and fastest among all of them. It has the tallest vertical loop on a vekoma and is considered quite smooth even though it has otsrs. Millennium is in the same park as odyssey (fantasy island) and it is a smooth and a rather graceful ride. It is a Vekoma MK-1200 and it gives Fantasy Island the best Vekoma 1-2 punch in my opinion. Kumali is one of the shenlin slc models and has a really fun layout and considered really smooth.
Imagine three Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerangs would be built, one in Mississippi, one in Nebraska, and one in Iowa, at three park projects, two using the original Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang staggered seating train and one using a four across train similar to the Premier Rides one that once ran in Goliath at Six Flags New England. What would you think about those three invented Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerangs, two with the original Vekoma train and one with the new four across train?
Ooh Vekoma...🙈 When I read or hear this name, I immediately think of that one SLC at the Movie Park Germany (Warner Brothers Movie World) named "Eraser"! Multiple times renamed and repainted. Eraser -> FX -> Lucky Luke - The Ride -> MP Express -> Iron Claw! Nice layout, but the ride was terrible cause the head cushions continually gave you severe slaps and your head was shaking like hell 😵💫😵!
Im dissapointed the "revolution" (chaos its two month younger twin sister) at bobbejaanland belgium didnt make it to the list, stil one of my fav dark coaster made by vekoma cuz of the music, the clock video in the big room when going up and light effects.
@@CanobieCoaster its good weird for me but what do you expect from an attraction that was made in 1989, so yeah i tend to disagree, besides i prefer it over vogelrok.
In the 1990s and 2000s many Vekoma SLCs with the same layout and inversions were built. What do you think, Vekoma built many cloned smooth rides or Vekoma built many cloned rough rides?
Blue Hawk at Six Flags Over Georgia. This is essentially one of their SLCs, just in sit-down form. Thankfully it is a lot more _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ than most. It is jerky, but the vest _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ make this tolerable. The positive Gs on the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ inversion at the start are inmense. Then the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ later in the ride are disorienting too. And there are a lot of great _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ along the way as well. Put here the missing words:
Well me number 1 and 2 are just the otherway around but as a complete package i can certainly understand thats its anybody's number 1 of vecoma. I unfortunatly didn't do gouderix in 2019 and yes it was bad. For the rest i didn't think Mayan was that great but as a group i can see your point (i happen to like them with over the shoulder restraines if they are halfway smooth, yup i must be the weird one in the coaster community). I do have to say all new vekoma's are pretty good extremly smooth and very enjoyable but alas except for Lech a bit lacking in the Umpff compartment. I would say they are probable the best coasters around for those who like thrill but not to extreme.
Imagine, Canobie Coaster would say: Giant Inverted Boomerangs... and I have to say this, that run the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ trains. The now defunct Goliath at Six Flags New England was _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ with those Premier trains. The old Vekoma ones offer a nice ride experience. These rides are _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . The vertical lift has some _ _ _ _ _ _ visuals and that initial drop has a great _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . Then you have 3 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ G heavy inversions, and they're extra dizzying going _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . The cobra roll may _ _ _ _ your head lightly, but the rest of the ride is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ than you'd expect for this type of ride. Put here the missing words:
I have not been on many big vekoma coasters. The only new one is FLY, but it was too much for me. Loup Garou is too rough for me. I think Speed Of Sound would be my favourite. Didn't like Xpress that much.
Fly too much? Fly is weak compared to flying dinosaur in universal studios japan 😅😅 that pretzel loop feels like the giant jinn from Efteling's fata morgana is sitting on your stomach 😄

Interested what happens to Rock n Roller Coaster during the refurb.
Would you like to go again to Goudurix at Parc Asterix? In the front, middle or back row?
I enjoy that coaster. I've only ridden it towards the back though.
Canobie Coaster would say:
Number 18: Nighthawk at Carowinds. The prototype flying dutchman does a lot of things well. The layout has very strong positive Gs on the turns and valleys. And they get even stronger on
A) the vertical loop
B) the corkscrews
C) the turnaround after the first drop
I love that element.
Most of this coaster is comfortable, but there's a notable exception, the final two corkscrews. They can really shake you up.
A
Vekoma over the last 20 years surely make yo do A Double TAKE with all the coaster builders out there. We DO have some cool stuff state side especially Everest & the Great Nor Easter (Best name BTW) I wish some of those installations like in Europe make it here as well.
I hope so too. Excited for the Cotaland tilt coaster.
i'm a vekoma fan boy
Nice!
Which Boomerang is the footage you've seen in the introduction of the video?
Lake Compounce's Zoomerang.
Mammut is my favorite vekoma coaster. It's rough but very fun
I didn't find it too shaky.
I definitely think you'd like the top 2 based on your tastes.
interesting that you only included the worst and best Big Thunder Mountain, I’m curious where the others land on the list?
The other 2 were made by Arrow, which is why they weren't there.
7:38 what happened with the audio there? Lol
I think just a voice crack.
Fly seems like it might the best themed, well rounded roller coaster in the world
Possibly!
I really wish there was a modern vekoma by where i live
Me too.
Imagine a quote, Canobie Coaster would say:
Goudurix at Parc Asterix. For years, I heard this coaster was one of the roughest and most _ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the world. But those who rode it in 2019, like me, said it was riding much _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ for some reason. So I actually liked this ride. It had barely any _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. So not only were the inversions _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ , but they were genuinely great. They had some incredible _ _ _ _ _ , especially since they are chained together.
In this quote there are five missing words, which ones?
This video has the quote for you.
I like Vekoma coasters, so I'm imagining about the history of Vekoma giant inverted boomerangs
Ok
Why is everyone always apologetic about floater airtime? I love that stuff! It's pure fun. I think you're pretty much spot on with this list. I do feel like the only person in the world tho really enjoyed Goliath (SFNE) with the new trains. It's still in the right area on the list though
Goliath with the new trains got worse for me with each ride.
What is the thrill level of FLY vs Fønix?
FLY vs Formuła?
I think FLY in the back is the most intense due to the positive Gs.
What means wretched?
Bad
Would you like to ride again Goudurix at Parc Asterix?
Yes
Great countdown but you forgot The Odyssey; it's the world's biggest SLC and praised for being much smoother than the others.
I haven't been to Fantasy Island. Hope to someday!
Nice video! IMO The minetrain from Phantasia is better the Disney's minetrains. Wondering why BTM had your preference :) Greetings from the Netherlands
I prefer Big Thunder myself, but Colorado is more intense.
I like a quote that said:
For years, I heard this coaster was one of the roughest and most _ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the world. But those who rode it in 2019 like me, said it was riding much _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ for some reason. So I actually liked this ride.
There are two missing words, which ones?
Painful and better.
Great video even though I’m a little late to it 😂
All good
Wich rock'n rollercoasters do you like better?
Tied
FINALLY!!!
Enjoy!
A rough and bumpy wooden coaster and an SLC above expedition Everest? The order seems random.
Loup-Garou has good airtime. Nor'Easter is no ordinary SLC.
@@CanobieCoaster Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discredit you, but is Everest that underwhelming?
It's more how good I think Loup-Garou is.
cqn you rank the top 10 soups
No
Canobie Coaster would say:
Number 10: Loup-Garou at Walibi Belgium. This is the only Vekoma wood coaster i've experienced. This company didn't built many, but it showed some promise. The layout is quite good. There are some great drops in
A) the front car
B) the middle car
C) the back car
with some really good airtime.
But if you want a smooth ride, this is not the ride for you. It is
A) very rough
B) very bumpy
C) very shaky
The cushiony trains mitigate this issue for me to absorb the blows, but it may not be enough for some.
C and B
Most SLCs with the traditional over the shoulder restraints are smooth for you?
The roughest coaster for you in the world was Flashback at Six Flags New England?
No to both.
I can't say what my favourite vekoma coaster is due to me getting an ugly ride on Infusion at BPB and I haven't rode Big Thunder Mountain at DLP in years.
Infusion looks beautiful, but the ride experience is brutal.
The old trains are better.
Honestly, I've never seen Vekoma as a bad manufacturer (although I'm yet to experience an SLC)
They used to have rough rides.
Also Odyssey, Millenium and Kumali in the UK are solid Vekomas you should ride the next time you come to the uk
Odyssey is truely the king of vekoma slc and is the tallest and fastest among all of them.
I hope to get to Flamingo Land and Fantasy Island someday.
Vekoma should do an STC with the intense SLC layout.
That would be sweet.
The old Vekoma trains were best.
Which Vekoma coasters did you not like?
Most SLCs, the rough boomerangs, and some other coasters.
Ooh Vekoma...🙈
When I read or hear this name, I immediately think of that one SLC at the Movie Park Germany (Warner Brothers Movie World) named "Eraser"!
Multiple times renamed and repainted. Eraser -> FX -> Lucky Luke - The Ride -> MP Express -> Iron Claw! Nice layout, but the ride was terrible cause the head cushions continually gave you severe slaps and your head was shaking like hell 😵💫😵!
That is among the worst SLCs.
I cannot believe that jubilee oddessy / millennium isn’t on this list
Haven't ridden those 2. They sound good though
where was vogelrok?
Just missed.
Fun fact: The ride at number 12 on your list is the Spanish pronunciation for “Roller Coaster”
Isn't that one the Catalonian spelling specifically?
@@CanobieCoaster not sure but I’m from Puerto Rico so I don’t know. Plus I haven’t visited Puerto Rico in a while so I’m not sure.
i sat back row in colorado adventure and my super tall friend was sitting next to me wich almost made me fly out lol
I can imagine.
I was on two vekoma minetrains, paris and phantasialand, and i like Colorado adventure more ngl
I prefer Big Thunder myself.
@@CanobieCoaster both are very good
Im dissapointed the "revolution" (chaos its two month younger twin sister) at bobbejaanland belgium didnt make it to the list, stil one of my fav dark coaster made by vekoma cuz of the music, the clock video in the big room when going up and light effects.
It's weird, but not as good as these 30 rides.
@@CanobieCoaster its good weird for me but what do you expect from an attraction that was made in 1989, so yeah i tend to disagree, besides i prefer it over vogelrok.
Ranking Blue Hawk below Goudurix should be a crime
Wait, why is Goudurix even on here-
I actually like Goudurix. Love the intensity and I find it tolerable.
I wasnt on to many vekomas, and only on one slc…. That was in movie park germany, and holy shit those fucking seats….. vekoma did some glowing up
That SLC is awful.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah…. I demand vekoma to retrack it…
I’m suprised tron did not make it
I believe I made this before I had ridden Tron.
@@CanobieCoaster understood
In the 1990s and 2000s many Vekoma SLCs with the same layout and inversions were built. What do you think, Vekoma built many cloned smooth rides or Vekoma built many cloned rough rides?
At that time, rough.
Honorable mention: Vogelrok
That's a fun one.
This video has the quote for you.
I rode Fly couple of times... It somehow didn't catch me
Catch you?
YAASSSSSSS😍😍💅💅
Enjoy!
I get why Lech is the favorite for many. I just have more fun on F.L.Y.
Just a moment for all the money he spend to go in all of these coasters.
Some of the travel arrangements are work funded.
Imagine, Canobie Coaster would say:
Giant Inverted Boomerangs... and I have to say this, that run the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ trains.
This video has the quote for you.
blue hawk at six flags over GA used to be ninja before remodel. ride went from terrible to mid
Those new trains really helped.
Abyssus at Energylandia: So what would you rate it? A 2?
No, much higher. See the review.
WHERE WAS FØNIX
It is towards the top.
My favorite is the bat i know im in the minority but it doesnt rough me up
Definitely a hot take.
i think vekoma slc's are the best coasters on the planet
I strongly disagree.
wait a second vekoma made a mack extreme spinner
why is nobody calling cosmic rewind an extreme spinner its litterally an extreme spinner
Guardians isn't quite at that intensity level. Amazing ride though.
I have not been on many big vekoma coasters. The only new one is FLY, but it was too much for me. Loup Garou is too rough for me. I think Speed Of Sound would be my favourite. Didn't like Xpress that much.
That's a bummer you weren't a big fan of F.L.Y.
Fly too much? Fly is weak compared to flying dinosaur in universal studios japan 😅😅 that pretzel loop feels like the giant jinn from Efteling's fata morgana is sitting on your stomach 😄
@@NiekNooijens yeah it was too much. Idk why but it was very disorienting for me. My eyes didn't have the time to process what was happening I guess.
where is battle star galactica
Haven't ridden it. This only includes rides I've been on.
@@CanobieCoaster oh mb sorry
Their SLC in Israel is actually very good! Not a reason to visit a very mediocre park, but at least this SLC is good
Good to hear it's not bad.
