That one Rotom same! The whole horror to comedy transition kinda sucked and took chucky away from being a horror icon to a comedy movie for adults. I like a few funny lines here and there and that's why the first three movies are my favorite and in my opinion the only good ones. I also preferred The Whole Andy issue over the bride and son thing. I also liked chuckys classic look without the scars. I also feel the only reason seed is needed for the series is that without that movie, no one would understand why Tiffany is no longer a doll in curse. I really hope that cult will be much better than curse and chucky will have a good classic look again and the people in the first 3 movies like Karen barclay, detective mike Norris, Kyle, Tyler and desilva will be back. This is my favorite horror series and I don't want it to turn to shit. Sorry for the long reply 😂😂😂
@@chuckyfanpage9603 Agree totally here. I love all three only...the rest are not really my thing. The first three Child's Play movies had it all, the "horror element", the "dark comedy" from Chucky's mean language and a victim that he could never get to even though he got very close. I feel he was scarier without the scars and the weird looking appearance he has now, Chucky was always scary before no matter what. Like I said, the other movies are fine but my favorite will always be the first three films, just classics...plain and simple.
His goal is what made it so creepy as a kid, especially in the first one. The idea that this doll Will. Not. Stop. coming after this kid until he completes this weird ritual and takes over this child's body. That's a scary fuckin concept
Childs play 2 & 3 both deserve special edition blu rays with special features. I dont know why they continually get not treatment. the 2nd especially is hugely popular
This movie is the best of the franchise the scenes in this movie are so creepy and the theme song is the best just the dark shadows the teacher scene the tommy doll omfg I was scared to hell of this movie especially the ending when they left the factory and that creepy theme played do do do do do do do do do do do
I really love _Child's Play 2,_ it's my favorite out of all the sequels. What I love about it is how Andy has become a bit paranoid of Chucky and by the second-half he eventually decides to fight back, brave little kid. And the Play Pals Factory climax was so awesome, one of my favorite horror film climaxes since the climax in _Scream 1,_ I love how Chucky gets fucked up in that climax, not as much as in the original but that one bit where Andy pours molten plastic onto him was brutal, and then the air-host which makes his head explode, what a way for Chucky to go. Oh and also, Graeme Revell's main theme, so catchy. And tbh, I love seeing both the first and second films as like a *two-parter,* mainly because Alex Vincent is in both of them and how Andy evolves as a character. It is really nice to see Alex back in the new films, hope he returns for _Chucky 8._

Years and years ago I listened to a radio interview with Tom Holland. He talked of how Don was young and full of great ideas. Extremely creative but a bit naïve and that he needed someone to ground him a bit and give him proper guidance. He talked of how he did his best to help Don harness his ideas and revise them so that CHILD'S PLAY could be successful. He said that while Don was always appreciative of his opportunities that he was always a bit resentful of how much Tom changed some of his original ideas. It's fun to watch this interview and see a bit of that in Don's responses to the questions he is being asked here. Tom said that late 80's Hollywood would have never gone with Don's original concept and that it just wasn't commercial enough for the time. I think Tom is right. He also mentioned Pinocchio's Revenge as a film similar to what CHILD'S PLAY might have been had they gone directly with Don's original idea.
When I saw Pinocchio's Revenge I was like, "man, this is what Child's Play should have been like..." 🤣 It wasn't surprising to find out that was his original intention. I have no grudge against the first movie - it's fine, and it's the reason the others exist - and I think Don Mancini has done brilliant things with what they did to his story, but I can absolutely understand him being unhappy about the situation and voicing that. As far as the "commercial viability" of his original idea goes - we'll never know, and I imagine that's part of the reason he feels the way he does. I wish the Blood Buddy script was available to read 🤷♀️
This day, 3 years ago these videos were made. I love all 6! Really interesting stuff. I loved Child's Play 2, probably my favourite along with the original and Curse.
It's kinda sad that Don (and perhaps David Kirchner, too) resents Tom Holland, but the truth is, Tom Holland created the character of Charles Lee Ray. From what I've heard, he was a bit of an asshole on set, but he made this franchise what it was. It's understandable that Mancini's a little resentful they didn't go with his original concept, but he does owe something of gratitude to Tom Holland. Even though Tom Holland wasn't involved past the first one, the success of Child's Play 2 was based on the first one.

Child play 2 is my favorite...why because we know who chucky is already and don't have to go though how he came to be so he can get right down to what he does best which is killing :)

Good God, how many times does this guy have to reiterate that he didn't get his way with half of the stuff from the first movie? He sounds like a big cry baby. Seriously, dude. We understand that you were butthurt over it, and that you obviously hated what they did with it, but do you have to say so a million times? Geez. >_
If that was your concept you would have reacted similar. He is the only reason that you're able to watch this video nearly thirty years later, it's his opinion and Don fully acknowledges that other people disagree. He was a kid who wasn't even out of college and his idea took off BIG TIME. He may not have been able to assert his desires and it's a producer's dream to take advantage of a newbie and distort their idea for their own marketing purposes. Plus, Don has stated that there was a big writer strike of 1988 so he was not on the set during filming and couldn't easily make changes. If you don't like Don's attitude then why are you watching a video about his creations?
+Savanna Y. I loved his creation. Albeit, it still scares the hell out of me to this day, but he states the same thing over and over and over again. I mean, don't get me wrong. I'd be pissed too, and he has every right to be, but these films STILL brought him fame for simply creating something that still sticks with people damn near 30 years later. Still, he had a hand in other things concerning Chucky after that, but continously goes back to reiterating and griping about the same thing so many times, you'd think that's all he cares about when it comes to the franchise itself. It was 30 years ago. It happened. Making it a point that it bothered you that you were taken advantage of is one thing, and I'd even understand if he stated it twice, maybe even three times, but every time he brings up something new to talk about, the focal point always comes back to not having the second movie go his way. Literally everything. I'm not saying he has no right to be upset, but I got that point after the first time, and especially the second, but it just became annoying that everything always worked it's way back to that. Doing so isn't going to change what happened, and isn't going to change the movie, so why make it a point to remind everyone every 5 minutes? That's when it became childish, and I started getting annoyed. Sorry if you disagree with my opinion, but I wasn't dogging the guy for being pissed that they took advantage of him and did something other than what he wanted with his original idea. I was merely trying to say that I understood that after the first few times he mentioned it. Every time after that only made him seem like a child himself, holding a 30 year grudge and reiterating upon it over and over again like it'll gain him something. There's nothing to gain here, and nothing is going to change the movie, so make your point, come to terms with it and move on. I would have long before this.
*+Frisk The Fabulous* He's not complaining. He's literally just saying that some of his concepts weren't in the original movie. No need to get so damn dramatic.
Are you guys fucking kidding me? When he finds out Chucky is coming to kill him in the first movie when he is in the psych ward and starts crying, it is the best child acting I have ever seen. I want to cry with him every time I watch that part, I fully believe his performance. I'd love to see you guys act that well at 6 years old.

Child's Play 2 and Bride of Chucky were the best sequels IMO!
This is the best Child's Play film.
What original concept was he talking about??
His original idea for Chucky had him be a personification of Andy's rage. Check out the Chucky Files for Child's Play. He explains it there.

Alex Vincent's acting was TERRIBLE in the sequel. It could have been a good film otherwise.
it was even worse in the 1st movie though, his delivery of lines was horrid
Are you guys fucking kidding me? When he finds out Chucky is coming to kill him in the first movie when he is in the psych ward and starts crying, it is the best child acting I have ever seen. I want to cry with him every time I watch that part, I fully believe his performance. I'd love to see you guys act that well at 6 years old.
