? Both motors are inbored. You didn't really share why a v drive would or would not be better than a direct shaft drive? I would think direct drive ( shaft would have more power, but I don't know. Which has more maintenance?
A shaft drive is less maintenance than a V drive, and a V drive is less than an I/O. Trouble with shafts are they take up more space but can be easier to service vs a V drive which can get tight in the engine room.
