You are so, so talented. It’s fun to watch you play! Thank you for the technique!
You are so welcome! 😍
Thank you! You have such a great eye😊
Oh thank you!😍
Merci beaucoup 🎉
I love your creative style. Food for thought, to use a pencil on top of gel medium just put a layer of Pastel Ground Medium by Goldens Paints, dry it and you are good to go. If you don’t mind, can you share purchasing information for the acrylic background stamps? I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks for the tip! The stamps came from TEMU. Look for ‘background stamp’ 😍
Please try this...put your collage paper down, run a clean wet brush over it, and then glue it down with medium. That's what I do, and it's so much easier than trying to handle fragile, wet paper! I hope if you try the brush technique, you will still achieve the effect you desire!
Great tip!😍 That might work. 🤔
Love this tip & technique, definitely going to have a play with it 🙂 Now I'm wondering if this technique will also work with my Lindys Magicals powders and mica powder too 🙂
Now I've got some playing to do 😂
Good question. I don’t have any mica powders but my guess is it should work. Let me know your results. Thanks! 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrina I had a little play with the Magicals powders 🙂
I learnt that when pulling the gel medium when I put the paper down, to let it dry like you would with paint for better result. I left mine 5 - 10 mins then pulled it. I found when adhering tissue paper using the Gel medium it didn't go transparent, but that might be my error will need to play more. Otherwise with a bit of tweaking it and playing it seals the Magicals and I can layer on them without them being activated 🙂💚🇦🇺
I also noticed something interesting as well, after doing the Medium pull it looked like some medium was still on myl gel plate, l decided to try and pull it with acrylic paint. I put a layer of Royal blue on, quickly did some stamping, let the blue dry and then I used Scarlet red acrylic paint for the pull. The interesting thing is when I pulled it the Scarlet Red came out as like a hot Pink colour instead of the bright red it should've been, so not sure if the medium played a role in the colour changes?
That's my little play results so far and I'll have a play with the Micas soon, possibly the weekend due to work. 🙂💚
What magazine do you use to get your images to reproduce on your plate? I have had trouble with this. I have been told some work and some don’t due to the ink. I have several and none work.
I have found that Vogue works best for me. It’s such a finicky process and it definitely doesn’t work for me every time. The key for me is using Amsterdam Oxide Black in a thin even layer. You want the shininess of the paint to go flat. Then apply light pressure for 10-15 seconds. You don’t want all the paint to stick to the magazine paper. Hope that helps. 😍
Thanks for the video too, I gave up on the distress oxides because of that, now I can start again... Thank you so much!!! Also do you think the matt gel medium by Amsterdam would also work?
You are welcome! It worked really well. So great about your avocado bag. 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrina Oh I wanted to mail the bag to you if that's ok......
@@PaulaMion really? That’s so nice of you. Can you DM me on Instagram? 😬
I have seen this done with pan pastels….great to know it works with the distress oxides…..I have a bunch of reinkers and would love to use them in collage!
OHH I have the mesh avocado bag for you. It came in today.
The gel medium layer to “seal” the oxide marks is genius. Why have I never thought to do that? Thank you so much! ❤
You are so welcome! I really love the Oxide inks and it took me a minute to figure it out. It works great! 😍
I love your work! The aesthetic is just to DIE for!❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much! 😍
If you add a layer of mat medium or clear gesso it will give you back the tooth to use your pencils. Ty for being wonderful you ❤
That’s a great tip! Definitely will try it. Thanks my friend! ♥️
Very nice composition! Love your process and palette.
Thanks so much Bob. 😍
I have seen this done with Pan Pastels…great to know it works with distress oxide….I have many of the reinkers but haven’t used them since I have gotten into collage.
Right? The Gelli plate is a game changer! 😍
Great techniques to know. Thank you. Your creations are beautiful!
Thank you so much!😍

And Ooooohhhhhh yeah! New formulation of Quinacradone Nickle Azo Gold coming from Golden. So happy to hear that. Question: what would you say is the blue green version of Quinacradone Nickle Azo Gold? You know, very transparent but intense greenish blue? Any ideas?
Golden makes a Phthalo green blue shade that is transparent. You can get it in the blue or green shade. amzn.to/3VdVvni
Ooo surprise, i like the orange grey - looks very terra cotta and I like it! Wonderful experimental work there Trina. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you! I love that color as well. Thanks for commenting. Cheers!😍
I have only been watching your channel for several days. I have learned so much already. Can you tell me what the stamp is that you use so much usually at the bottom of your pieces?
It’s a stamp from TEMU. Search for background stamp and you will find a few. I like stamps that have more of a grungy pattern. Hope that helps. 😍
Love your techniques, aesthetics and style. Fun to watch! 🤩😍🤩
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for the information and thank you for your calm presentation. So very soothing to watch.
You’re welcome! Happy to help. 😍
Can i ask what paper you use?Is it watercolour paper? Whatever your work is fabulous! 🎉
Great question. I use Jack Richeson printmaking paper. It’s not expensive and it takes paint and ink very well. You can use Matt photo paper as well. Thanks for watching! 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrina Thanks so much. 🥰
What’s your secret to the text image transfer? I’ve tried different glossy papers, and also Amsterdam paints, but it doesn’t transfer 😢
I use Vogue magazine for the text transfers. I put down a thin but even layer of paint and then light pressure for about 10 seconds. If you press too hard all the paint goes on the magazine paper. Try that and see if it works. 😍
Thanks for that! I tried the light pressure and 10 seconds plus more paint and it worked!! I used a dark blue, it’s awesome!!
@@nathalieheath5693 YES! So happy it worked for you! The light pressure is key. Happy creating! 😍

Cool technique! Seems complicated for my simple mind…lol
Haha! You can do it. Gel medium is magical! 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrinaI’m anxious to try the med exam paper with liquid starch and see if I can eliminate the water spray step. I get great results with just starch and pretty transparent layers with the deli paper I use and definitely great results with rice paper. I’ll let ya know!
I learned in the Cheap Joe TH-cam channel that automobile paint colors drive, no pun intended, paint colors across the board. Idk if you ever shop the Cheap Joe’s site. I live fairly close to the Asheville NC store and even got to see Joe painting person at the Grand Opening of his Boone NC store. He was a nice fellow! Check their website and TH-cam channel!
@@swl9270 cool! Can’t wait to hear about your results! 😍
