Part of the irony here is that her currant gig calls for her to ape "soft and likeable" when the sum of her success on Fox News was built on her ability to play the "pretty blond whose actually a conservative pit bull". I can't help but note that the myth of her "bi-partisan appeal" is predicated on all of *two* segments from her entire tenure at Fox: that one time she stood-up for maternity leave (which was convenient, because she had just returned from having availed herself of a maternity leave), and her obvious annoyance (shared by everyone alive) at Karl Rove during the live election coverage for 2012. That's basically it. No wonder she's out of her depth on this gig.

shorty blue- Well, truth be known, "Nuff Said" is shorthand for "enough said," which in my opinion, has outlived it's cute factor. I agree with everything you've said in principle, but... I don't know... maybe we need to at least attempt to apply the brakes.
Proper grammar might not be at the top of the list of our problems, but it's still on the list. Employers notice it when looking at job applicants. No matter how bad our educational system might be, we continue to learn after we leave school. (This was true, even when our system was one of the best in the world) The last thing we need now, is a class of immigrants who understand the language better than native speakers. Not because I have anything against immigrants per se, but because I object to the dumbing down of the general population.
An understanding of basic grammar, geography, and history, are important attributes which help define a society. It reflects who we are, and much more importantly, where we're going. We create our own future and should, I believe, care deeply about what that future is going to look like!
Sometimes it's the smaller battles which produce the greater results in the over all war. If we throw up our hands in surrender when somebody mistakes looser for loser, or accept the fact that far too many people don't understand the difference between there, their, and they're, we become willing participants in a rather bleak future. Something I'm no longer willing do!

I'm not even an NBC news fan (don't particularly care for their morning line up and I've always preferred ABC for nightly news....if I'm not watching Rachel or something on CNN. I can absolutely see WHY she's tanking. People who are not "FOX" people to begin with, will always associate her with them. Also, I remember her segments with them and how she talked about the left, which I'm happy to say, I'm part of!). You. Any just turn her loose on mainstream media and think ppl will forget. Sorry. No sympathy for her or the ppl who green lit her contract. They had to know with how ppl felt about her, that things would turn out this way.
I think Pakman is far above his level of competence. Alex Jones only has 100 times or so the audience of this person.

My opinion:
1. NBC was banking on Kelly's popularity at Fox would transfer over to the Today Show. That didn't happen. The people who watch Fox News are not the same people watching the Today Show. When NBC/Today Show fans see Kelly, they still see the Fox News-Megyn Kelly, not the socalled kinder, gentler Megyn Kelly NBC is trying to rebrand her into.
2. I read a report that Megyn Kelly is causing other Today show programs to drop in ratings in addition to her own show. The Today Show franchise is the cash-cow of NBC. If Kelly affecting the ratings of other Today Show programs, you can assure she will be gone in the very near future. I predict she'll be gone by Christmas or at least by th end of the year. It would be foolish for NBC execs to allow the Today Show to lose against the competition for the sake of keeping one person on the air. They're better off taking the financial hit now instead of destroying their iconic morning show franchise. And I don't buy Kelly's claim that everyone at NBC is friendly and welcoming to her. I know I wouldn't if she is putting my job-security at risk.
3. If I was an NBC exec, I'd be shopping Kelly around like right now. Perhaps even working out a deal with Fox to take her back. Anywhere but at NBC. The woman is just not well-liked outside of the Fox News universe. 🤔

Management is mostly babysitting adults and making sure they are actaully doing what they are supposed to do.
What about the media executives who fast-track these promotions to begin with. If anyone needs to be fired it's them and their myopic view of the situation.
Maybe the nursing home/assisted living set watches morning shows like this but most of us have better things to do with our time. Can a captive senior audience, alone, keep this show going? I doubt it.

I don't think the Peter Principle really applies here. She was 'exceptional' on a network that had a network wide narrative in their 'news' and 'news opinion/entertainment' shows that she was only a cog in that machinery. She was able to, with her looks and rigidly scripted sound bites, fill her time slot with a narrative that lambasted everyone her network hated. So she was not much different than having Sean Hannity or O'Reilly, but female. When she went to NBC, she had to know that the emphasis was toward sensationalism and not a network wide narrative that she would simply be able to ape like she had for years. As far as her ability to interview, most of those skills (dubious at best) were part of the Fox techniques that included brow-beating, invective, and 'gotcha' questions inline with what she did to Fonda. That would have gone over well at Fox because her show would have been sandwiched in between two shows about how unpatriotic Fonda was during Vietnam.

The "Face" on those shows is the hook. If she is failing it is the producers who are blowing it. They need to look at her skill set and find people and ideas for her to run with.
I felt she disgraced herself on fox news,when she invited a Native American professor to be a guest and she would not let him speak. He said a sentence or two and she'd try to shame him and rant at him.
I knew that she did not understand the subject. Every word he spoke wasxtrue. I wanted badly to hear him and she would not shut her mouth. I'm sure she invited him so she could grand stand with common lies. I was angry. I pay to watch that? Then she did it again within a week. Yikes. I don't feel any loss. she's sharp tongues and strongly opinionated and wrong.

There's no point in having an investigative journalism in America anymore...WHY?? There is NO FREE PRESS. It's controlled! And anyone who is critical of it is quickly labeled a "Conspiracy Theorist" which is a tactic and not a counterpoint. The 9/11 false flag attack is a prime example of how bad our mainstream media is controlled. The official 9/11 story doesn't add up. The World Trade Center 7 collapse is off limits to show on our mainstream media and only critically analyzed on TH-cam and that is telling!
